Just spotted at 6:11 that the railway is disconnected. You can tell because there are buffer-stops in the middle of the track meaning the nodes failed to connect to each other, so if no trains are using the line, that's why!

Whenever I watch these Cites:Skylines videos, I always think “Definitely would never actually live there”. Then he pulls off a place like this, and I’m pretty sure this is nicer than my actual home city
You could work with fire helicopters, I think in this layout they would fit in perfectly

I agree, In district policies he can prioritize helicopter over ground services; this game is crazy i hate it i love it- they should've had a kaiju with the disasters update too
Even on my roughest dqays at work, knowing Kibitz has uploaded gives me drive to get through the day. Thank you Kibitz.

Hey Kibitz! Love ur videos. Have a couple of suggestions for your next videos. Maybe you could try building- 1. Amusement park 2. Zoo or wildlife sanctuary 3. Monuments 4. Small Suburban area 5. Industries such as farming, mining, forestry etc 6. Space sector
Awesome vid, please use the trolleybus in the next video with the new roads and types of busses from the latest update, although they dont get used often I think we should give them a chance again with the new changes

I loved the highway interchange at 7:37 It's so simple and yet elegant. Better than using tunnels like I tend to default to.
Kibitz forgetting you can put regular districts over pedestrian districts and use the regular district to set what building type you want, and leave the pedestrian district specialization blank.
watching Kib plan it out is so satisfying, how he figured a nice way to connect the different transportation methods all together with metro was beautiful

You should be able to zone green cities in walking spaces by drawing another zone on top of the walking zone, or make a new walkable zone different from the others. You don't need to connect all walking zones to each other to work. And then classify that zone to have green cities Love ya vids so much!! ❤

Hi Kibz, if you notice your public transit lines complaining about not being able to find a path, you should try and remove/replace the city quay walls. They are bugged at the moment and can cause your city to break. I would suggest using the CCP bridges and piers, they have some nice quays to use. Hope this help :)
Looks great kibz, Maybe make 1 part of a tarace in to a park with rollercoaster and ferriswheels or something.

I think that this city is missing the sweet sweet black gold. THE MONEY NEEDS TO FLOW!! (And also having it as a cash cow will effectively allow your city to operate in a deficit, allowing you to build whatever vanity project you want)
A thing I think would help with traffic, what traffic there is. Is for right turns at major T or four way intersections, to make it so that people don’t need to stop at the traffic lights and clog of the roads, they just go on through. Just make a small one lane road going off and into the right and connecting to the right hand lane, using yield signs and the lane manager to sort things out.

By the way kibz, the method to bring roads up quays (stolen from biffa) is to 1) drag the node of the road on the upper level to the edge, just above the height of the wall (so that nothing shows through), then 2) connect that to the road on the upper level, and 3) use node controller slope tool to make the slope more acceptable. To take up less space, especially in a place like this where the quay is running into a wall on one side (see 3:59 ) or where you have access to the shear side of the quay (see 5:06 , coming in at a parallel angle rather than perpendicular as at 3:59 ), you can run the sloping segment 'up the side of the wall' (parallel to the wall). In the case of 3:59, the upper level road could turn at a 30°/45° angle to the left to meet the quay wall (or run along with wall the whole way), and the lower level could turn the same way to meet the far corner of the quay, and then connect via the steps outlined above (the only thing about this is that the cars have to make sharp turns, so this trick is better in situations like 5:06, where you just need to create an offshoot of the lower road to run up the quay wall and meet the extended upper level road, although this doesn't preserve the nice lines I think you were going for when you pointed it out). Another option is the Cityzilla method, which is to split the quay wall, slope the road down as you did, and then drag the nearest adjacent quay wall nodes up to the road so that they border it. That way, the land is as unaltered as possible while still sloping down reasonably, ideally without greatly interrupting zonable space on the upper or lower level. Extending roads out perpendicular at the top and bottom nodes of the sloped road section can help to recoup the zoning directly adjacent to the sloped sections.

I've been playing some city-building game, some of them got quite same mechanic as city skylines regarding the zoning demand. resident zone demand industry to work/make money, industry zone demand commerce zone to sell their goods, commerce zone demand resident for employment. When u overdoing a zone (like a psycho like me), the demand will blow up, when u trying to pay the demand with blowing other zone, it will blow another zone's demand and so on.

We have lots of those highway interchanges here; the one where the road goes over the highway and has lanes down, seems fine to me
I think that the bridge is kinda goofy. Idk if this would work, but a sloped tunnel would be cool. It would go into the terrace, and not be a bridge, just like hay you did with the train track, but sloped.

I would love to see a distant farming district, but I also really want to see that downtown core as a tourist destination.
Next time you do terraces, run all the road work through the mountain and have each terrace have an entrance/exit back into the mountain

Downtown should be an old sea fort. Something that gives the city some historic value instead of simply attractions. Build something all by your lonesome using terraforming and those sea walls you like so much. Build something from scratch and then build old style small homes and stuff around it.

What you could do is do a couple service tunnels between the tiers and use TMPE to restrict it to only service vehicles

I play Cities Skylines a lot and I know a bit of things when it comes to Districts and building types. You can have an entirely walkable city, with the Green houses, if you remove the Wall-to-wall stuff from the District. Green city stuff is not limited to ANY road or path you put down, it's limited to how well you paint in your districts. For the sake of clarity as well, you can paint regular districts OVER walking districts and as long as you don't have two different building type specifications that clash with each other, you can put all of your regular policies and building type stuff in the regular district you painted, and have the Walkable district stuff to cover the fact that walkable areas need that specialisation I would also suggest checking out the Walkable city specific policies in the Walkable districts, especially if you want to increase citizen happiness in commercial and residential areas. The bottom two policies (Deliver Everything and Street Music) make zoning logistics and increasing commercial incomes so much better, as long as your logistics are good

This city is great but I think the biggest oversight is the highway system going trough the dense parts of the city, it's cutting the city in half and is causing tons of noise pollution while also just being generally ugly to live near at ground level. I can't think of an exact solution but it would be cool if it could be turned into a boulevard or partially moved underground. Also the new expansion looks beautiful.

In vanilla, if you press a road name, then the routes icon, then junctions, you can enable/ disable traffic lights and who should stop for who

If you find your routes are getting randomly disconnected, it is because the new walkable quay is bugged. The problem also seems to be associated with the large pedestrian area service point, too. Whatever the bug is causes an excess of "path units" to be used. The solution is to not use that new base game quay and stick with the walkable keys from that CCP, and to also stick with the small service point, or the specialized service points. You'll need to reload your game after swapping those out. (There is a mod which increases the number of path units available, but once you enable that mod in your save, it cannot be undone so I don't recommend it unless you're 100% sure you want to stick with it.)
Hopefully one day, he gonna drop his savegame file of this and let the noob people tour 🙏🏻 ❤
