This is just a seven cell, 24v battery, butt three wide, yeah? Off of the same bms. I was unaware you could do that. Excellent. I need some fat-assed batteries for the boy's electric scooter. Thank you random stranger!

My only suggestion will be to add the gasket insulator same you use on the side of the battery on the top and bottom or fiber glass insulators. Other than that looks amazing.

Thanks for comment. Yep, today we use fishpaper for all sides, battery pack is wraped to shrinkable foil like in video but on sides we use insulator glue for waterproof efect.

Nice build, very clean, thumbs up! But 2 comments from my side: -At 5:10: Too dangerous in my opinion: While welding on the second side of the battery, there should be some tape for isolation on every cell you are not working on at that specific moment. If you missplace your strips left or right or one strip falls down on the pack while handling it or something like that you´ll get a short. Also if there is a metal strip or anything else conductive left getting under the pack. -Why are you using black for the positive discharge wire???

Question for you... I need a 4.8v - rechargeable pack for my filter system on my welding helmet. Battery system on filter isn't giving the working time I need. Any idea if this is possible with as high as 10AH and compact enough that it can hang on a belt? Appreciate any help with this...

I have created a 7s 15 p battery pack with bms, and tried to use it with apc ups.. It just trips when power goes.. When i use it with existing battery in parallel it works fine

Hi, voltage is same? 7S has 29.4Vmax, try discharge battery to 24V and try use it in ups.

Great video, that very first weld on your first spot didnt look like that first weld took, i only see one dimple on your closeup, rest look fine.

Yes, sometimes is welding pressure little bit different and it make some changes but it has not effect for final work.

Next time, build a rig for the soldering job. holding the T-Connectors is better as soldering them on the table - thats not a good solder job here. dont do this like shown here ^^

Great job. Worked systematically. They say if you cut the balance leads unevenly short and long, there will be difference in resistance and the cells will be charged unevenly. Is it valid?

A physical barrier more than kapton tape would be preferred for the BMS/balance cables. Something like barley paper but this is a really minor thing to point out. The fact that you're using kapton paper is enough honestly, KZread is full of Indian kids using cells that look like they died 10 years ago and have been rusting away at the bottom of a river ever since, put together with zero capacity, IR testing, no balancing is done prior to assembly they don't even look at cell voltages and then they solder some random wire to the terminals and call it a day. Followed by 1200 comments saying "Genius boss you are great. I wish one day to build battery like you" Ehhh 20 seconds later the barley paper comes out! This is a quality build, just don't use the Smart Daly BMS's. The dumb ones are just fine though, good price and they work.

Hi, thanks for your comment :D This build was build 2 years ago, so today we use fishpaper for basic insulation between cells and balance wires. We learn from other and sure from our mistakes and aplicate it in next builds. Today we build our own busbars, our holders, 3D projects etc. but it was long way and i think that it will be much longer :)

What is the name of battery cover tap

That lap solder joint will reflow under high loads and let go, in my experience. I encourage you to consider a linesman splice or similar mechanical joint under solder.

It’s a certain kind of packaging tape that has “strands” in it to give more rigidity. For the life of me I can’t remember the name.

Hi, weight of this pack was 1300g. Probably yes, but it depends on many parameters.

@@m.barrios You need know maximum possible voltage, but if is 24VDC nominal voltage i think you can use 7s.

Hi, yes. These insulating rings are used to strip the cell and the connecting pad.

No, even big company like bosch doesn't use it, because the cell already has one isolator ring. But extra is better.

Hi, maybe 6 or 7P. When use 3500mAh cells with 6P it will be 21Ah. When use 3200mAh and 7P it will be something about 22Ah.

Inside of pack is bimetal switch with cut off temp. 70°C. This protect pack from high temp.
