Any "concealed carry" flashlights need to be surrendered at the entrance to the property together with measuring tape and hidden ladders. A laser level or level bar is likewise prohibited. You may not use a thermal camera or any device that could uncover hidden defects. Obviously this is all done for protection and safety 🤪

My Father did a seven year apprenticeship. He’s currently 76 and is now doing soft jobs for his age. He has said, that a tradesman worth is his salt., would ensure his name would not be in disrepute after the job was done. In other words, leave the job properly executed to perfection. He is a tradesman. How I long for that standard in Australia.

Hi I'm a HC Truck driver from Sydney Australia and I really enjoy your videos. The Victorian Building Authority (VBA) has a 1.6 star rating on Google. That is to be expected because I recently watched one of your videos of a Lady that paid over 40k for a completely defective job, also got the VBA involved and nothing was done about it.

Why was $40k handed over for a completely defective job? Wouldnt the logical thing to do be to have pointed out the parts of the job that are sub par, in writing? And to have with held progress ma payment until rectified? I understand not everyone is a building inspector or doesn't have in-depth construction knowledge but at some point people need to take some responsibility. Crying victim and expecting an under funded government department to sort out incompetent scamming contractors (that the customer chose to engage) and customers that are dumb as dog shit is deluded.

@@fletcher932I could also argue that the government set a false expectation here of their capabilities of enforcement, and while they campaign a lot about cyberscams, they could probably do the same for our building industry. Although I suspect it’s quite a house of cards given the already unfavourable demand supply and no government wants to be the one to topple it

vic privacy laws. he's protecting himself from legal risks. this isn't in public, it's on a building site. there are rules.

Just bought land to build on. Seriously considering flying you over to WA later in the year.

The only thing would be chooaing the right ladder, fibreglass/platform/step/whatever else, for the right job. I have one of those steel ladders and its sturdt as hell, and also heavy as hell.

The VBA won't even pop access hole to inspect sarking and insulation omissions on a double storey house from the inside first floor as its unsafe..

Any builder that refuses entry to the Inspector should immediately be investigated by the Builder's Association and a building audit conducted by Council.

I just watched you're video , I'm not involved in the building industry, but worked on a couple of them , just cleaning up etc, I noticed things that don't look right, 20 minutes ago an awning that was put up 6 months ago because of a bit of rain, water is pouring down their front window, I wouldn't be happy if it was me , and I won't bore you with other things I see .. thanks 👍

If you get on the roof on a construction site, even if you are doing inspections you need a SWMS.

Because the site manager was completely right. He did not have the right ladder for the job nor any fall prevention measures. Even when he got on the step ladder to try measure gutter fall with his level he was breaching safe work practice by climbing his step ladder to high. Being called out for "non compliant" job safety, who is the fool?

What's there to be nervous about? Do a proper job and you'll have no worries. In my field we get random audits and compliance work checks all the time to the point we don't even think about it. Christ if Joe Public sees something that might look odd even if it's fine they can ring Energy Safe and have them on our backs to check up on possible issue.

Everything is done to spec, unless you inspect it. Schrödinger's quality.
