I’m a grower with 30 years experience, and amazingly I’ve been able to root a bud at the 9th week of flower. Grew a beautiful plant out of a bud cluster. My point is experimenting can keep it interesting and teach you much.

I'm rewatching all the episodes starting in Season 1. I'm half way through season 2 now on this re-watch. You always say, "IF we were going to maximize yield we'd do this..." But, so far, you always go for quality and do things to maximize quality instead. Which is awesome and I love that. But I think it would be fun to see you maximize yield in one of the quadrants next season. Show what living soil can really do for those who want large yields. Plus it would just be fun to learn the Build-a-Soil way for maximizing yields.

Not that you can't get good yields from living soil, but going for quality is much much easier and this is a very busy gentleman.

@@demsandlibsareswinecancer4667 Yep. I'm currently re-watching all three seasons and I didn't miss the reasons he gives for that... And his reasoning is that he doesn't want to get behind in the garden due to his busy schedule. Completely understandable. But we're now going into season 4 and cannabis channels are NOTORIOUS for running out of content ideas, haha. So I thought I'd offer some suggestions. Me personally... I'll probably never really go for heavy yields. I can't smoke everything I grow as it is, haha. But I do think it would be interesting and fun to see and learn.

5 times a day drip irrigation with a venturi injecting tea mix and he would need to visit his plants oncein awhile. You can make growing as lazy as you want, and still come up with quality. People fuss too much over their plants. Here's a case in point, people being against aggrevated trimming, do they forget flowers are calyxes through and through, so what's the problem with knocking trichomes off on the surface area? Do you cry about loss when you peel an orange or a potato? If you grow enough, you can get over the loss of small amounts, especially when you are the processor and have access to the trim to make other products. With experience, he is able to make it easier and easier, while keeping quality the same.

Idk about anyone else but last season Halitosis was massive from my perspective (via KZread lol). This season the Beefcake D were pretty damn fat. You have to take genetics into account when considering yield . I know it’s one data point but I’m pulling the most I’ve ever pulled, never mind the quality (next level), since switching to BAS & Earthboxes

Hey Jeremy! Thanks again for all of the amazing knowledge and it’s been really awesome watching things progress over the past 3 seasons. I think for Season 4 it’d be really cool if you did some pollen chucking and see what kind of sorcery you can conjure up! You definitely have a really awesome silo of top notch genetics and it’s be awesome to see what you could do with that! Also showing how to harvest pollen from males would be super rad. Other than those two ideas, anything you have planned I’m sure will be both entertaining and educational and I’m sure will be a treat to watch.

The most natural way to find original strains. would take a lot of help, but 1 original strain is doable. Find a place where herb grows naturally and has for a long time. BTW, I ordered seeds from dutchland spent 100$ and they were all bunk, didnt even germinate.. That was 10 years ago.

Thx for inspiring many new habits for my gardening. I now cover crop & amend soil. Understanding Polymerase activity post harvest was a game changer for me. The thc does break down BUT it synthesizes itself back together, stronger with the electrons being released by the evaporating inner clean water (which is why flushing is important)…That process will yield you something More that wasn’t there at harvest. This is the plant’s way of survival…it knows it’s been chopped and it’s job is to preserve its flower and to protect that flower so its thc production after harvest goes to another level. So if the human can control this slow process by controlling the atmosphere, and slow drying, the quality of the weed will increase. The terpenes degrade and we know so far only that we can slow that degradation. I wish for more info on terps if u got it. I am so grateful to ur channel.

First of all, this channel is absolutely amazing. Thank you for all your wisdom, after growing my own for a few years, I've recently gone back to college after a 20-year hiatus/heroin run. I have 6 years clean and attribute it to the meditative pursuit of gardening, music, and especially my family. Thank you for taking the time to share your wealth of knowledge about this amazing plant. I have a few questions pertaining to my next round. I have a 4x4 tent with an HLG scorpion rspec light. Using a niwa to control the environment I'm looking to use 30-gallon containers for the foreseeable future. My question is do you think I could fit 2 or 3 comfortably inside the tent. I have a small humidifier (which I may not need with the increased volume of soil and grassroots smart pots with the liner jawns, I used 15-gallon fabric posts that lost too much through the sides no matter how much mulch) an oscillating fan that could be mounted, and the exhaust fan above. The more I think about it, I can probably only fit 2, how many small clones to you think I could fit in on 30 gal? 2? 3? 4? Just try and find out? I bet your answer is it depends. Anyway, I am a huge fan of this content, and I am constantly re watching. Btw I picked up BRR from AWKID, rootwise products, some build a flower/bloom, and all I need now is some q! Thanks for everything!!

I run 4 30s in a 5x5 and there is only a few inches between the pots, they might start to touch if you did that size in a 4x4. If you don't want to move up to a larger tent I would find something in the 20-25 gal range so you could fit 4 depending on how many plants you want to run. You could easily grow more than 1 plant in 15s or larger, just depends on how big you want them to get etc. I keep 4 moms of my previous run in a 15 gal no problem for reference.

Your plant count depends on how long you want to veg before flowering. You want around half your canopy space full when you flip to flower to fill your tent in the end. So you can veg one plant for a longer time, or several for a shorter time, and either way end up with about the same yield. I hope that makes sense. And congratulations on getting off the H! I quit in the end of 08. It was a struggle but I don't have any desire to go back to that life. I left the country for 9 years and lived in Central America. I miss it and didn't want to leave. But family needed me. Anyway it's great that you were able to get away too!! I love hearing that because almost everyone I knew in that life is dead and the rest lost their freedom. Only a few survived. So it's great you're with us.

  • @dizzloot9750

First of all, congratulations on your recovery! God Bless You and much Love ! As for how many you can fit in a 30G..I'd say you'll be just fine with 2 plants in a 30 no problem. A 30G in 4x4 can easily be done with enough room to throw in a humidifier or De-Hu'. You'll fill that up real nice! I'd say just make sure you have enough lighting. If you can get a light that is meant to cover a 5x5 space you'll crush it. Even if you add in a second HLG Scorpion Rspec you'll be good to go.

hey i'm new her but old at growing, I beg to defer from your response to the question about leaving your lights off before the big chop ie harvest the main reason to do this is to increase the levels of terp profile as any experienced grower have noticed the extra strong aromas the ladies give off that seem to come around the darker periods, maybe there are benefits if not a little and any advancement the plant can get during its last couple days in its medium will definitely show up come time to consume the final product but then again you can be right and its all in our head lol cheers.

Hey Jeremy this was a great season! I like to breed and I’ve been loving Durban and it’s crosses recently, so looking ahead at season 4 I’d be interested seeing Durban in the 10x10 tent, I know a guy called love of land race who has some solid 80s Durban genes and I’ve also been working some lines with it! I’d also love to see pink Panama autos from mephisto, I heard it has insanely fast flowering time. Good luck and keep rocking!

Have an old coworker that left our cultivation facility in Denver for a job at a Research facility in Portland. He sends pictures of their work with new genetics and it’s crazy. Everything gets cloned after flower and re-vegged. Also nothing gets consumed 😫

Season 4 'sidecar' idea to whatever you growing. Nix the cover crop, Grow food! What kind of edibles can we grow with our plants either in the same pot, or companion plants that can grow in the same environment and do well (and provide no issues for the main plants). Looking at things like timeframe compared to the harvest window for Cannabis (might not matter for large beds) and also discussing things that should not be grown in the same tent for one reason or another. Mini carrots or other quick-finish root veggie's? Lettuce or cabbage? FWIW I am trying some tiny bok choy from Baker Creek seeds and it seems fine, just a wuestion of finishing at the same time or sooner than the plant

So on the ripening question. I've experimented very heavily with this mystery. Even with the help of some neato miniature mass specs. I must ask this question to clarify before I answer yours ---- Does fruit ripen off the vine? What byproducts, chemical pathways happen when you lets say, pick and unripe tomato/banana/etc. We know CO2 is produced; this is why we insure airflow and burp our jars. The plant itself is also not dead when you chop it down, if so; the very act of cloning would be impossible. in the right chamber (drying/curing --- mine are the same*) @

I believe it has something to do with oxygen yes, but looking deeper into the cause of ripening off the vine, potentially the microbiology that lives endophytically inside the trichromes of all plants. This microbiology’s known to communicate to plants and each other via terpenes and potentially through other secondary metabolites as well, so who’s to say they aren’t just chatting up a terpstorm inside of those juicy unbroken trichrome heads. Frenchy documented to changing of terpenes and cannabiniods in the same hash over years of aging and saw a lot of change in the chemical composition as the hash aged. In his experiments he would mildly decarboxylate the hash by pressing and working it with boiling water in a bottle and then store it airtight in a temple ball in optimal conditions.

2 day darkness before harvesting makes absolute sense, because the plants have carbohydrate reserves for ~24-48 h. Leaving the lights off for 48h makes the plant use those reserves and that's what the drying and curing process in general is about.

I've seen that flat stalk thing in a three strains with a lot of Thai genetics, sometimes it will split into two active meristem. Super weird. in one case the plant didn't favor one branch over the other, and in one case after a few nodes one branch became dominant.
