This is like the definitive guide to build a DnD tavern! So detailed, about every small thing! Like, you can start from scratch, have absolutely nothing and make yourself a perfect tavern by the end of this video. Love it.
The painting of the rocks-- layers really can make something look realistic!! Amazing detail and patience.
When I first saw "1st Level" I thought "OMG this is 1stL terrain making? I'm a looong way behind!". Thanks for a brilliant vid. Best of breed and easy to follow. Your technique produces amazing results!
I don't understand, how people cannot love a job like this, it's a fucking good work !! Maybe are they jealous !? Congratz ,it is very realistic scenary !!

the only explanation i can give is that 675 people were watching this on their phone in bed and they fell asleep. as they slept with their phone on their chest the dislike button was accidently clicked as they were breathing

Lovely paint work on the stones. I like the careful, patient layering of washes compared to some other crafters who do messy stippling or overbrushing. Your patience shows in the finished product.

Thanks man, appreciate that you appreciate it! 🙂
the hearth is the area at the base of the fireplace, the mantle is the shelf over the fireplace, and wood is not unheard of for mantles
Man, I never thought years ago I'd get excited over stuff like this, but this is amazing. Beautiful work!
The proportions of this build lay somewhere between cute, cartoony and classic fantasy. It's absolutely perfect.

I making my first diorama ever.. it´s a LED tree made with wire covered with cold porcelain and placed over a little hill.. im working on it and listening to your video, it kind of cheers me up, like being in a workshop with a partner . Thank for all your tips , really helpful to us beginners. Best wishes from México
I feel like adding some magnets to certain parts would be a cool way to secure the modular parts.

Agreed. Definitely have magnets in mind for future builds. 👍
Really nice tip about using the steel brush on the wooden dowel to make grain marks on the main columns. I will have to try that one.
An hour went by fast! This is a well produced video and I learned a lot. I would definitely like to try this out.

Okay, I'm impressed.
Most chill dude since Bob Ross. Great work, keep it up!
Awesome! I usually take fireplaces one step further, resolder one of those LED tea lights with some wire, embellish the LED with some hot glue and a colored wash and fuse the "logs" to that.
This looks amazing.
I started one last year and still have a little painting to do and a little wood working to do also but 95% done. Thank you getting me fired up about crafting again. After I watched all of your videos on this tavern, I went to town on it. I even cut all of the wood from a 2x4 and put red oak hardwood floors in it. I made a few changes to the interior but other than that it was a major project and I commend you my friend. Thank you. Keep on crafting.
Wow! Just... wow! You take terrain building to another level.
I have to apologise this is the first time I've seen your work.. l bloody love it can't wait to watch more vids!! thank you for your time and effort
amazing build! For the wood beams, i find that mixing paint in water and just dropping the pieces in and drying them out is a pretty effective (and less messy!) way of getting that weathered look for the wood

Pretty epic build. So much detail in the stone, plasterwork, wood and paint.
This is awesome! I would love to see a D&D game with some of the masterpieces you have made!

I really enjoyed this. My friends and I were just discussing building some hyper-realistic buildings and other map pieces for our 5th ed game. This was a great breakdown of a simple floor plan to get me started on my first attempt. Thanks!

your work is amazing. This would be a great addition to any TT game.
A wonderful presentation. You have convinced me that I too can make realistic medieval building models. Thank you for showing how you do it, and thank you for commenting about parts of the process that could have been easier if you had gone about it differently. I will certainly paint the entire floor area black before I start, and I will assemble the fireplace before I put the walls together. You have really inspired me to give it a try myself. Again, thank you for sharing your techniques. You have save us beginners from hours of frustration.
Wow, so inspirational. Your work is incredible. Looking forward to more buildings.

Why can't I just have creativity like this?! This is just beyond great, it is alien level art!
@ABW941
4 жыл бұрын
You can! Start small, get foam board, build a small and simple building (Chapel, Tower, house with four walls,...) then add more details, color, weathering effects. Most of those can be added later on, and they dont need too much planing. There should also be a plan around to show you how to turn a pringles can into a medieval tower, it is not that complicated, but it looks quite nice.

While watching, I went from "Wow, that's great, but what an astounding amount of time it must take," to "Dear Lord, that's gorgeous, I must learn to do this!" Or at least, I've forgotten the time part, and just am in appreciative awe.
I'm back!! I've seen the first floor make and will continue on after the other to see how the building gets done. Again...thank you sooooo much! I ordered some little detailed black lamp posts in line & am waiting for them to come in. It's all the many little fantastic details that you add that really make everything come together.
Dont care how many times you said it in this video, is still a fantastisk video, so much that i forgot to count it rewacthing the video, but let me guess 27 times

As a gamer of 43 years (63), this is the most awesome and instructive . Brilliant Great and a few more adjectives would be insufficient. Inspiring yes, at 63, do I want to return to a d and d tavern last one at 14, and Livingstone inspired, awesome welldone congratulations.
Great work! Both on the model and the video. I would love to see some more on the planning stages with regards to scale etc. I really appreciate the way you share your process, discovering what works best as you go.
I once bought a can of wood stain but reading all the warnings made me return it. Seeing you handle it without gloves (lol) made me confident to try it again! Thank you.
i love this side of youtube, you sir, are brilliant!
the Naples ocher yellow color was a good choice, because at that time there was quite a lot of smoke inside and also definitely killed, and in various ways such as "throwing a cube with beer or mead on the wall, a splash of blood from a fight, etc ..."
You do an excellent job. More videos!

i watched this 3 times... NO REGRETS :D
I was enthralled.
23:28 when fireplaces were first implemented into the houses they often had wooden parts, especially when chimneys came about, fires were quite frequent. its just a case of early design and not knowing any better, id say its pretty accurate this way
