BUILD YOUR OWN FEEDBACK LOOPER

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Hey pals!
Have you been toying with the idea of getting into building your own effects? well a feedback looper is a great place to start! it's a super simple little project that can breathe life into effects pedals you may have lying around that you don't use. Delay's morph into endless pits of repetition, fuzz squeals and barks back at itself and god knows what else you will stumble across when you feed an effect back to into itself. Bite the hand that feeds. Tear it right off.

    Hey, I think I just eyeballed it tbh. If you wanted to make one I’d recommend downloading a build guide pdf for a random pedal in the same enclosure size from somewhere like pedalpcb. They usually have a drill guide in there so you can use that as the template and add your own holes/move the existing ones.

    Hi, great video! I've built this pedal, but it kills the signal of the connected effects when the footswitch is disengaged. Is there a way of adding a switch to keep the effects on when the Feedback Loop is off? Or have I done something stupidly wrong?? Thanks in advance!

    If I were trying to integrate this into a pedal, (so it wouldn't have any jacks, I just want the knob, the LED and the footswitch, would you just split the signal of the pedal in two at the end of the circuit, and then treat one side of that as the send and return hot leads on the jacks and the other side as the in and out hot leads on the jacks?

  • @HOLYISLANDAUDIO

    @HOLYISLANDAUDIO

    Do you mean you'd wanna add it into a pedal you already have? You'd want to wire it so the send is going directly to the input of your effect and the output of the effect is going directly to the return. Depending on the effect you're adding it to you may wanna use a different pot, might be worth auditioning a few, The pot I use in this video was just the value I'd had the best results with in most instances! 👍

    I followed this except without the DC Jack, led and resistore and I dunno if I did it right or not. When the pedal is turned off I lose the effect pedal its linked to and just get a clean sound, is this correct? Also doesn't seem to like my DIY fuzz I built as it doesn't change much but makes my Autowah go crazy when it the knob is fully to the right which is funny as

  • @HOLYISLANDAUDIO

    nope, it’s logarithmic. That’s what the ‘A’ prefix means, if it was linear it would be a B500k. Each pedal behaves differently with a feedback looper so I’d recommend trying bunch of values to see what works best with what you have in the loop.
