You don’t need a lot of skills to build your own custom pilot watch with SEIKO NH35. The Seiko NH35 watch movement is one of the most popular along with micro brands and homage watches. You can find it in Zelos, Spinnaker as well as in homage watches like Pagani Design, Cadisen, or level higher San Martin.     I've used that exact case to make a field watch. It's a great case, 39mm, sapphire crystal & 200 meter water resistant. Inexpensive too!

    Nice build. Tyoe B style with date window you don't see every day. Just a few tips: Use a washer on the hour wheel befor installing the dial so the hour wheel always engages the intermidiate wheel. please use tweezers with a plastic tip. You just scratched the dial when putting the hour hand on. After every hand installation, check if the hand turns ok.

    Nice result. I make my own watches, I also use NH35/36. I have more trouble than you with the sweeper though. I use Rodico to hold it in place. I use plastic tweezers to set the hands as I once scratched a dial with steel ones.

    Check the comment section below and my videos, but for sure you need a set of tweeters, screwdrivers, and a case-back opener, then you need to clean the watch, a movement holder is also useful. Good luck with the fantastic watchmaking journey.

    Very good build. I would be very nervous about cutting the winding stem in case I cut it too short. Having to adjust for the screw down crown is confusing. Did you apply any thread lock after you finished it?

    I'm really glad that you like it. The thread lock is a very good idea but if you don't have you can just use super glue, also works.

    The pleasure is mine T-Y Chia! There is a screw on the stem and the crown, so they are connected; I did not test it, but you can put it just to the water and see.

    Very nice watch i saw a similiar one build by a Spanish watch fan youtuber. HE print in a 3 D printer the ring. Where did you get it the case and the plastic ring? Thanks in advance

    You can use but a simple caliper is enough 😀

    Just a question: Is it not bad to use a leather base like this when applying the hands as it puts pressure on the rotor? Or in this small ocassion it does not matter? Thanks!

    It is and I sometimes do, but any method you use you should always be carefull because watch parts are mostly very delicate 😬

    Thanks for the video. I have a problem tho. The two little stamps on the dial dont fit in the clockwork nh35 although my dial is nh35 compatible. What do I do?

    Probably you ordered a dial for NH35 but you received a different one. Once the same happens to me ☹

    This movements are advertised as Seiko but Seiko in his watches has a little bit different symbol so it could be that it is produced on some kind of license. Maybe are there people that know better.

    Next time, I recommend removing the stem before applying the hands. Applying the hands with the stem engaged can damage the movement.
