Build Your Own Cool Room Using a Coolbot

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Today is all about building your own walk in cooler or fridge using a Coolbot and window A/C unit. I'll give you all the details and step by step instructions to customize your own fridge or build your own walk-in room using the same system. Recently my reach in Traulsen fridge broke and the repairs would have cost me more than I paid for the fridge itself. After experiencing the ease of installation and efficiency and reliability a Coolbot unit and A/C unit provide I will never buy another fridge again. I will be building my own walk-in fridge when the time comes to upgrade my current set up. The cost savings is unbelievable buying a commercial fridge is a completely unnecessary cost when this option exists.

If the probe is waterproof, keep it in a sealed small water bottle filled w/ water - this will minimize temperature fluctuations when measuring air temp when you open the door.

Good stuff mang. Now if only I could find an affordable cooler or fridge. I have been looking everywhere and even used stuff is crazy priced. Look forward to the next video. Thank you

Ya man now that I've experienced the Coolbot, these commercial fridges are an overpriced, over-engineered scam lol. I paid $1,100 for my used reach in for reference. Your other option is to build an insulated room for yourself, which is pretty cheap to do as well. There are some videos on youtube of people building the rooms to use with Coolbots.

Funny stuff. I'm a subscriber to Nature is always right, but was looking for info on walk in coolers and here's Dave! I think I'm going to build one of these in our house in Florida. No refrigerator is ever big enough.

Awesome!! I wish I could buy a Coolbot now, but I just invested money in season extension. Here in upstate NY season extension is a must this time of year. This was a great video though and I will save it for when I am ready for a Coolbot. Thanks.

Nice video 👍Is it ok to run the unit inside? Usually they suck air from outside right? Does it heat up your room? Condense a lot?

I have a similar box on a window unit inside a walk-in. My window unit just gave out and I replaced it yesterday. The new window ac unit keeps freezing over. I can't figure out why the old ac unit worked for 3 years and the new unit, same BTU, keeps freezing up on the inside.

I just checked the coolbot online it is 417 USD, AC is around 200-300 and you have a less efficient cooler with little less than a new cooler. If you buy used cooler, I believe you can pay less. What is the economic side of all that hassle?

@@JV-ds5oo no, it's a true thermostat control for 110v. You will actually disable the therm on the a.c. unit and use inkbird for the control. The coolbot uses a heattape on the a.c. therm to trick it to turning on. Inkbird also has a plug for a heater if it's getting to cold at night in your box.

Thanks for reaching out! Because the A/C is pumping out cold air into a well insulated space the compressor will actually come on less than it would in a traditional setting, using less electricity. If you think about using an A/C in your house, the cold air has lots of places to escape and the compressor will need to come on more often to keep you cool. The CoolBot was tested by NYSERDA and they found that there was a 42% energy savings compared to a traditional refrigeration system. You can read their report here: www.storeitcold.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/NYSERDA-CoolBot-Report-May-09.pdf With a little more information from you, we can calculate a rough estimate of what your CoolBot powered cooler would cost you to run. Call us at 888.871.5723 and we can help you out!
