    The world needs a model builder's equivalent of an online dating site where cash-strapped model builders get paired with wealthy car enthusiasts who have no desire to sully their hands with glue or 3-in-one oil. I'd be all over that. This build looks amazing.

    After seeing the first two instalments of this build, I bought the kit. Now I need the next 100 instalments to help me make it! I realise that relatively speaking, not many people have bought the Pocher Lotus 72, but the videos are good entertainment even if one hasn't.

    This is 1 of my favorite 1:8 scale builds. Was fun to do and looks fantastic when done. This and the Cobra so far are my 2 favorites. Will gladly do another Pocher build anytime. Instructions are not the best, but I like the challenge. Nice thing about this car is so much of the engine detail is still visible after you are done unlike other cars where you add tons of detail only to cover it all up.

    This looks like a really nice model. A really nice subject too. A Lotus from the period in F1 when the drivers had character.

    The Lotus 72 was so advanced for its time that it's the ONLY car I know of that was pulled out of retirement for more championship fights! The first time Lotus tried to replace it, they tested the 76, they were shocked that the 72 could match its lap times. And they were having too many issues with the 76 because it was a brand new car and the season was about to begin. They had no choice but to pull the 72 out of a museum. It was modified and tested. To their shock, it was better than ever and a new driver named Emerson Fittipaldi drove it to his first world championship. I think the only other time this happened was when Ferrari was forced to use its F2001 for the first 2-3 races of the '02 season because of problems with the newer car but Michael Schumacher was still winning races with it so it didn't hurt his chances of winning the title for the third time in a row.

    From the US - What is the difference between the Pocher Lotus and the DeAgostini Lotus?

  • @davidgriffiths4844

    @davidgriffiths4844

    The Pocher Lotus is the Emerson Fittipaldi Lotus 72D with the Ford V8 3 litre engine, from the 1970's, the DeAgostini Lotus is the Ayrton Senna Lotus 97T with the Renault Gordini V6 1.5 litre turbocharged engine, from the 1980's. Different Tech as the 97T used ground effect, smaller, more efficient engine, and a carbon fibre monocoque,, the 72T an alloy monocoque. The Pocher Lotus 72D is an all in one kit, the 97T is a Partwork.

    The Lotus 72D also used what was called Torsion Beam Suspension which made the tyres last longer when it was going round corners
