You should also build a skyscraper around the pillar. That would also be near your skyscraper district and look very nice in the city.

Your preference for expanding building horizontally to vertical construction is understandable, as most highrise builds often involve creating repetitive levels. Perhaps a tower along the lines of Seattle's Space Needle, or Toronto's CN Tower (or Tokyo's Skytree) could add a distinctive point of interest in the city. Enjoying your work as always!

Speaking of skyscrapers, replace the multi-colored tower around the support post with a giant glass tower. Have a bunch of observation platforms up it and a big helipad up high and then also run a wire cable from post to shelf above observatory and hang some cable cars off it. As an extra cool feature of tower you could change the glass color or layout to spell a giant BRICKSIE down the front side. You could also stick LED light strips on post before building to light up tower from inside.

It’s just having the pieces available the amount of things that I’ve substituted for other stuff because I don’t have that exact brick. I know I want is crippling feeling for a design element style building, but when somebody like that guy your assistant has free reign that’s awesome

I still vaguely remember a travel vlog you did that showcased an awesome LEGO build of an actual skyscraper. Some guy and his kid spent years working on it. You had to spend a pile of money to park and there was a lit up silly head in front of the LEGO. It was mostly trans-blue with black supports I think. Really stunning! Some kind of riff off that would look cool.

Simon's house design has a very Aussie coastal feel about it, lots of windows looking out at the view. I had been thinking on top of the hill should be an old smugglers cottage with a trap door down to the cave but I do like the house. Glad to here the skyscraper part will go on top of a heritage listed building and maintain the beautiful streetscape.

Running out of room does not equal running out of things to do. I have a large park and I change it out for every season. I’m also planning on adding lights and some motion at some point. The nice thing about having a lego city is that you are never really done with it.

One idea for the skyscrapers is to have the base wider at 28 studs across and then as it gets higher make it narrower. This would give the opportunity for balconies and add a design element that actual buildings have. Also the house is awesome Simon.

Great video! I love watching your city evolve. Downtown skyscrapers are typically condos or office buildings, either will work. In my area where our raised trains move out to more urban areas, higher buildings are becoming a part of the new urban infrastructure. They have ground floor store fronts, then some business floors next, and condos to the top. You can have high-rises in the urban areas too! When do we get to meet Simon?

Bricksie, your two stone ones of sky-scrapper ideas, use the arc one as the ground floor, just modify it, then that other one can be stacked on top of it. Gives you a different look between the two, then give it a different roof structure & top floor... Do not forget the staircases & elevators, you know. Heck look at that new 3-1 creator like fake modular building that Lego brought out, alt build can give a sky-scrapper. How solid the back is..... Heck, look up lost sky-scrappers of New York & Chicago(?), maybe it gives you some ideas. As for that hill building, nice shape. Shimmy is ging to where? And should that staircase not have a safety hand bar on both sides?
