I continue to make Japanese old sports cars.
I inherited the parts of the Mat Vehicle that appeared in The Return of Ultraman from a friend, so I made the Cosmo Sport in the Matte Vehicle version.
About Mat Vehicle
In Evangelion, Redline's Cosmo Sports appears, but I think that Director Anno made it appear because he likes Ultraman, but there is a composition of Cosmo Sports = Mat Vehicle.
Cosmo Sports matches the image of Ultraman in both design and naming.
In Shin Ultraman, Land Cruiser appears, but I think it would have become a hot topic if this was Cosmo Sports.
About the kit
Car body
It's an old kit, so it's thick and out of focus.
It is a troublesome kit that I have to do something once I install the parts, not the end after painting the parts.
After making a new Tamiya kit, I think so even more.
The clear parts also look like windows for tin toys, and especially the rear window is fixed on the window frame.
The rear window frame also feels strange, so I added a window frame molding.
The curved parts of the clear parts on the front window are also exposed, making it look like a distorted transparency.
It's impossible to fix, so I'm patient here.
The headlight cover is also thick and the fit is not good.
It was after I made a new kit, so the other rough parts stood out, and I didn't want to make another one like this, but when I saw the finished product, I could say that it was a mat vehicle toy. So, there is atmosphere.

Because it is a super detail model, it is equipped with a metal engine.
The number of engine parts is small.
Because of the compact rotary engine, the engine room is narrow and low, and if I wire too much, the wiring will stand out.
I made a terminal block and installed wiring parts like a real car, but I don't think it's beautiful that the half-cylindrical engine has various protruding parts.
However, this is the only model car equipped with a rotary engine other than Japan DeAgostiniin's Cosmo Sports.
in the car
The instrument panel of the Cosmo Sport looks like a vertical black plate that has been cut out and a meter inserted.
It looks more like a control panel than a car, but I processed the meters and switches to make it look like an instrument panel.
The air outlet of the air conditioner is made of aluminum pipe.
Next, I would like to make a American or European sports car or a motorcycle.

Amazing work on this model. I thought I recognized this car! Ultraman, I've watched a few episodes, really entertaining! Love seeing models get smashed by guys in rubber suits!

Beautifully detailed and so realistic! What is the purpose of using oxide red as the base coat? Ive noticed you do this with each of your models and was curious.

For effective weathering use Oxide Red as a base. Different types of paint can be applied on top to create different effects. It is the same method as the AFV model. Thank you for your question!

ご質問ありがとうございます。 一つはオキサイドレッドはサビ表現を出しやすくするためです。 オキサイドレッド→白→車体色で塗装し、錆表現を実車同様に出すとき、車体色の下から錆が発生するので、錆塗装には都合がいいからです。 サビ塗装しない場合、オキサイドレッドは使いません。、 ２つ目は 銀を銀らしく出す下地に黒と同じ感覚で、黒の下地にオキサイドレッドを塗ると、黒に鉄らしい表現を与えやすいからです。 例えば、黒光りする鋼が古くなって表面に錆が発生する塗装は、オキサイドレッド→黒→サンディウォッシュ、ステンブラウン、グランドブラウン、青などでウエザリングすると錆塗装しなくても古くなった鉄感が出ます。 黒く塗った鉄はウエザリングしなくてもオキサイドレッドは使っています。 アメ車の古い廃車寸前のピックアップが好きなのでそうしています。 私の塗装は車の王道ではないので、おろしたての車を作る場合、ご参考にはならないかなと思います。 ありがとうございました😊

ありがとうございます、良くわかりました なるほどサビ塗装のためだったんですね あとから削ったり剥がしたりするならベースが有ったほうが良いですね 私が色彩感覚が弱いので色々参考になります 私も古いアメ車やピックアップ好きですので楽しませて貰ってます 何個かキットも持ってるんですが、ワイパーは別部品にしといてよと（笑）

そうですね。キット化されているのは後期型ですけど、一応ボディ横の方向指示器とミラーはどちらも選べるようになっていますが、フロントグリルが後期型しか選べないので、せめてミラーは後期型選んだほうがいいかもしれませんね。

質問すいません。 リアのアンテナはどうやって作成しましたか？

キットのアンテナベースだけ利用して、0.3mmの真鍮線をコイル状に巻いて、0.3mmのピアノ線で作っています。 屋根は真鍮板貼って0.3mmのアンテナホルダー刺しています。

@@tenunuti あっ、こちらこそごめんなさい。 あそこは 0.5mmの虫ピンに電線の被覆チューブを虫ピンの頭まで挿入して、 余分なピンを切って 車体に1mmの穴を開けて 被覆チューブが0.3mmほど見える所まで差し込んでいます。 そうすると、なんとなくアンテナっぽく見えるので、いつもそうしています。
