increase in clutch pressure is strictly mechanical on a dry clutch trans.

Rusty Shackleford You can increase clutch pressure via calibration changes to the current(I) requested for the solenoids. The solenoids alter clutch pressure based on torque delivery from the engine. The pressure also depends on Engine RPM thus, spinning a pump inside the Trans that alters fluid pressure; there are solenoids connected to these pressure lines which alter pressure further at any trans pump RPM. As engine RPM increases, trans pump RPM and fluid pressure increases (input shaft). As current(I) increases to the solenoids, fluid pressure increases.

Just swap in the 950 clutch and pump assembly,a local shop has managed to get it working but they still experimenting

BMW did a hell of a job with this car. And it makes me smile that people still run MS109 🙂🙂🙂

Kinda looks like the car sways a bit back and forth when under full throttle on the street. I experience this in my stock supra. Any guesses? The maintenance team at the dealership misplaced the factory right Strut tower brace, so I'm hoping that has something to do with it. I ordered an aftermarket set that arrives soon.

Can't wait to see the new supras out there on the streets hanging with the big boys

Unless your sponsored there's no way you had that done for less then 5 grand.. The pure800 and hks exhaust alone put you well over 5k

I think its closer than you think. The HKS exhaust is not required to run 9's so you can cut that expense out. @@aswerty312 true, but you're not getting into the 9's with that set-up.. it just comes off a tad dishonest. Even with every performance upgrade mentioned above, without those drag radials you're not seeing 9's either.. and that wheel/tire combo has to be pushing 4k by itself.

Meth, nitrous and turbo upgrade. I love the way this engine going and the direction this platform is headed, but sweet lord that's annoying to have to manage a meth kit and a bottle, and not have the liberty to run flex. I'm waiting for upgraded fuel, injection and proper pumps that'll cycle full E85 and allow for freedom at the pump.

How to tune transmission? Does this have a trans cooler??

Even tho if u calculate everything, it would probably cost about 7grand in mods but if u calculate the cost of the supra with the mods, it would total to about to about 65k for a nine second car which is insane. What for getting a Lambo 😆

Until a transmission tuning option is released, it's not really worth drag racing without nitrous as the stock converter is tight and the stock transmission tuning favors a conservative approach

​@@swackhammer2139 The engine is 100% made by bmw and they helped with the rest of the car and generally played a big role for the car. No matter if it shares the parts or not, the Supra is a Toyota. Its a good thing they did a collab with bmw because they know how to make amazing sportscars.

McLaren did ran the BMW livery in the 24 hours of Le Mans and if McLaren wasn't turned down by Honda, would it still be as famous for breaking the Top Speed for the worlds fastest production car? Toyota did get help from Yamaha when designing the 1JZ. Recently the A90 just beat the S-Chassis Silvas at their own game of dominating drifting in their homeland of Japan in D1, it was literally only Silvas on the podium so A90 chassis is edging out of the crutch S-Chassis. Also, I have not been around long enough to see the famous 90's Supra got podium but even RX-7s, Mark 2s, GT-Rs, Chasers, GSs, 350s, etc got their butt handed to them by the S-Chassis.

The car had 722HP at this time.

Yes, it might only be 5k in bolt-ons but the car is too expensive. The car you started with back in the day was not at the equivalent of a 50k supra today.

This new Supra is cheaper than the mk4. Adjusted for inflation a 98 would have cost almost 65k today.

Unfortunately because we don't have a transmission tuning option yet, nitrous is pretty much required to get it to do anything impressive so we didn't really waste any runs off the bottle since it cant be run like that competitively. Once there are tuning options for the transmission, the no-nitrous performance will become the new focus.

Hey Ted, have you checked out the article? www.realstreetperformance.com/blog/9-second-2020-mkv-supra-build-recipe/ it splits the mods list into 2 lists. the First list is the stuff thats needed to go 9's. The second list is the stuff that we have on the car that isn't required to go 9's but makes the car look and sound cooler. For example. You dont need exhaust or suspension to go 9's. We have them on the car, but you dont need them to go 9's. Even so, it might work out to be slightly over 5k depending on what time of the year you buy it and what deals we have running. Jay was shooting from the hip there, he didnt have the invoice in front of him during filming, But even at full price its less than $6000. Check out the article. It has all the pricing

They need it to spool up the Pure800 to get a good 60'. A stock turbo can be quicker without Nos and they have run 9s before.

either way the more you upgrade the turbos, in both of their meanings, the more N20 you are going to have to use to spool it/them and if the powertrain can take it, it can take

@@Eduardo_Espinoza yes that's why many people decide to keep the stock turbo for the 1/4 mile but then you will be limited with power. There's also a Pure700 that spools a little quicker than the 800

9s on stock drivetrain. Lol unscheduled maintenance here it comes. That car gonna break.

Its said to handle atleast 900whp. The issue is is that the clutch is a limiting factor since it starts slipping(5 and 6th gears to be exact) once it touches over the 700whp+ range
