Build a Waterfall Terrarium for only $82
Үй жануарлары мен аңдар
In this video, I demonstrate how to make a mini waterfall in a jar; pretty much a mini paludarium. It's great for small spaces and for people who are on a tight budget.
If you are going to replicate this for yourself, DO NOT USE a fine grained sand like I did. The sand may be able to pass through the filter foam. This can damage the filter and significantly reduce its lifespan. Instead, use rocks or a LARGE gravel. As usual, if you have any questions, feel free to ask me in the comments below.
Products I used:
Filter Foam: amzn.to/3wRvdg7
Spray Foam: amzn.to/3JLEVEo
Light: amzn.to/3wGOUHn
Silicone: amzn.to/3qBAuEx
Pump: amzn.to/3wIE1EC
Sphagnum Moss: amzn.to/3uu5qHF

I mean, I've never watched these types of videos but I'm entertained af. The content is not spread out over 20 minutes like usual but it's in just the right amount of time and the pacing that keeps me glued to this. Amazing job

Love the consistent content! Can’t wait to see an update on the lizards and the crabs. I’m curious to make a terrarium one day; never been interested in it before but your videos are inspiring. a beginners tutorial with important info to know would be great!

I also have found a huge interest in terrariums because of your videos and I think you should make another more in depth tutorial on how to create one with all of the elements such as the misting system and how to chose an enclosure that suits your needs. As well as what different kinds of animals to put in them

It could have gone much better! I ended up going to a plant nursery near my house that wasn’t well stocked with tropical plants that do well in closed environment. I got 3 that were shakily recommended and after 5 months only one is still alive. I put snails and other small insects in that may have contributed to the other 2 plants failing though. Overall I really enjoyed doing it and look at it every day!

Start a blog my man. Just discovered you and love the videos. Would love a step by step guide where you can give a little more details and give a full break down of materials used for all your builds. Another great little way to funnel some monetization for the Amazon associate links as well. Keep up the good work. You inspire me to make this my new hobby!

Yea, I found his channel today and I’ve already watched most of his videos
youre a legend buddy, i never done one of these but i like this alot
I'm so excited for this new video! Your humor and editing skills make all of these builds both relaxing and entertaining to watch!
Wish I found this channel sooner, like my god. This content is perfect for a science and nature lover like me! Keep going man, you’re making amazing content and amazing little enclosures!
Your videos are amazing. I love watching them. The one with the palidarium are so calming and comforting to watch.
Oh my gosh, this is so cool! I might use this design with my birthday gift for my mom, who recently became interested in bioactive enclosures. I might use this as a reference, as i think a waterfall would be pretty cool!
That is beautiful! In the winter it will add humidity/moisture to your room, too.
I like these smaller builds, gives us a way in so to speak. Some videos about maintenance, your general experience in which plants to choose and position and why would be great.
Thank you for this video! And thank you also for including links for the supplies! I am currently building a waterfall aquarium using an old glass pitcher, and to be able to watch what you did certainly helps.
Your creations and your vivarium videos are simply some of the best on the internet. The photography, voicing, lighting, music, are smooth and in perfect harmony. Thank you for sharing your creative passion with the world. I continue to lean and be amazed.

Cool. I might use this as a brine shrimp tank 😊
I love how you make a lot of beautiful terrariums and keep them beautiful 👍🏼🤩🌿

crazy build! Cant wait for the next one!
Just found your channel today Dr. Plants! Very calming and informative videos. Might have found myself a new hobby and thank you for the amazing editing and quality videos! I’ve been binging for the last half hour happily
I love your channel!!! I am very much looking forward to seeing more from you. Very beautiful setups.
I like the idea. It prevents you from needing misting device
I just bought everything from the links you shared below! I'll be making one of these for myself and seeing if I enjoy the craft. If I do find out that I like the whole process.... I am tempted towards making the paludarium you made... starting slow and working my way up to animals just as you have.
That's so pretty! And probably not even super expensive. Good job!
Fantastic work again Doc, I honestly usually find videos that lack animals bland but this was extremely informative, entertaining and amusing and is an extremely innovative build. P.S. Your finger, the band aid, who hurt you? Such violence shall not be tolerated towards our neighbourhood plant doctor 😂😂

I stumbled over this channel and have been binge watching every video. Can't wait for new ones.
Super cute build I love it!
You make some of the best looking vivariums I’ve seen on KZread
Just found your channel today (first vid watched was the year long overview of the cannibal jungle) and so far I love the content! I have a small hobby of making little terrariums and these videos are a great source of inspiration. I haven’t experimented with any live plants/critters or anything like that (just fake plants and props) but might have to tinker around with some live plant life at least or water terrariums in general
That looks amazing!
That is so beautiful and peaceful. Thank you. xo
Dude u need to upload more.... its really satisfying to watch and knowledgeable. Stay safe God bless✨
I love water falls!!!❤😂😊
I just watched your last 10 videos in one sitting which lead to this one. Awesome content and fun hobby! Thanks for the informative and entertaining videos!
Hey Dr Plants ,you have the best video series on this subject I have ever seen .They are highly entertaining ,interesting, informative and, at times, funny, when you let loose your sense of humour.I highly recommend your videos to anyone who loves nature, which actually is most of us I reckon. Cheers.Hope you make many more.

Hey man, love this build! How would one maintain this tiny terrarium? Do you need to exchange the water, remove algae etc? Thanks!
This is wonderful! I want to make something like this for myself now. Thank you:)
I will be making one of these now!! Wow thank you thank you
Nice build mate. I would love to do my own builds, looks like a great hobby and the result gives up such a chill vibe. Great job 🤙
Omg this is sooo beatyfull and easy to make! I think I will build my own waterfall soon. Thank you so much!

I love waterfalls. Went to Niagara Falls many years ago. Your smaller creation looked nice 😊
Look so beautiful easy tysm for simple
with a slightly higher water level, this would make a perfect little house for a small aquatic snail or two! they'd love the moving water above the little pond so it's easy to spend time up there
It is not the hard scape or plants that make this scape beautiful , it's his creativity
That is so beautiful
Great build going to give this a try I have several similar set ups but no waterfalls yet 👍

I really like the waterfall and all the effort ❤😊☺️
You look younger than I would've guessed from your voice! That makes your skills and knowledge on all the life forms even more impressive!
I'm curious as to if you made a bigger one, would you be able to have any organisms in there? Like the shrimp?
