We could improvise 80% as effectively in order to take the principles we learn from this video, to apply it to our own Blue Collar areas of operation. I noticed the focus was on the outfits that make the difference in pay. So what is the difference in pay for your Blue Collar work?
Great Video! People get stuck in tips and donts, but sometimes it's awesome to have a global vision of an interchangeable wardrobe and set an objective for that in terms of costs. Great job!
This is really great educational video . Great work Antonio , you helped me alot .

Another great thing to have is well fitted crew neck or v-neck t-shirts. Solid colors, well made, they go well with a suit for a business casual look. But all in all, Thank you so much for this video. I've wanted to build a good looking wardrobe, and now I have the means to attain it and I can do it for relatively cheap. And from this I can expand it to suit my needs, yall are doing great things.

I really like your videos! I find they very helpfull and interesting. Every man Needs to se this. Thanks for Helping me dress well!
The best about these videos are how much these videos help out those real dudes looking for a positive change .
Great video. I agree on most of these points. I probably would go with a dark brown cap toe oxford instead of the black. Brown would look better with the navy suit and would still go fine with the grey. I'm not sure on the anson belt with a suit but it would be fine with the rest. You can definitely find $20 silk ties, the tie bar is a great store for variety and quality. Interchangeable is key!
Thank you devil dog!! I thought I knew my shit but you have taught me some good stuff thank you!
Fantastic video like always
Ugh I needed this
For separate jackets, single breasted is fine, but with a suit, I’d exclusively wear double breasted. It builds up the chest and the shoulders, brings in the waist, and makes the body look proportional (considering I’m of an average size, maybe slightly taller). I also like the look of dark shirts, like burgundy, navy or black. It makes you look more powerful.
@muffemod
Жыл бұрын
I love double breasted myself as well, but some employer dress codes won't allow for it. They haven't been as popular as single breasted in the work force in the last 30 years. That could always change, but right now single breasted is more considered more reserved and business appropriate and double breasted is more alternative less common place.
Great tips. 👍
Thank you for all the value and expertise you showed throughout the video. As a poor immigrant trying to maximize my potential, I never had someone guide me on how a powerful MAN should appear. Know that you’ve improved the lives of many, including mine.
Great video 👌
Love your videos, Antonio. While I agree with most of your budget, I’d say it’s a bit skimpy in the casual wear and outerwear side of things. To save money and help round that out, I’d always recommend hunting for secondhand deals on eBay, Poshmark, etc. or thrifting; I’ve found everything from Allen Edmonds Park Avenues for $4 to a brand new $300 Patagonia winter cost for $10. Great way to help lower fast fashion/clothes waste too.
@RealMenRealStyle

I'd recommend that too. Thrift stores are a gold mine. Dappered.com is also a great place to find deals.
I love that belt!
that's a great video, as always - very comprehensive. I'd go out the route of saving money on the shirt and maybe cheapen out on a suit a bit, but never underestimate the power of good quality underwear. Or, well,the opposite. You may have the best suit or oxfords, but if your briefs are too tight in the wrong places, you can't benefit from the confidence great clothes can give you
I don't particularly wear suits and things like that; I don't even have a "proper" career at that, but that first point about thinking to have a lot of clothes to look good? That applied to me until recently. I just went through my closet last week and bagged *pretty much* all of my old clothes that were too big (I used to have shirts that were 4x), tattered, etc. Made my closet a lot "smaller" and neater, and I can see everything I actually own/wear.

Love the dark green herringbone sports jacket. Men’s clothing seems to be higher quality, for less money, than those for us women. I just ordered a linen blazer for $300, but was willing to pay more to get a non-polyester lining (this one is cotton). Do men’s suits, jackets and trousers come with poly linings, too? I absolutely loathe them, they overheat one and don’t breathe at all. A poly lining defeats the entire purpose of a linen jacket, which is to have the structure and function of a jacket, but stay cool and airy in the hot weather. I want the rayon lining standard back! (Rayon s highly breathable and cool because it’s made from plant fibers, not plastic).

Hey man, aspiring officer here. Personally, I'd think that service, regimental or corps colours should be fine, especially the event in question is military. I'm a little more cautious with school or college colours- I don't want to appear to try and leverage my education or try appealing to the old boys club- it can really rub some people the wrong way. If you had to bring, say, three ties, I'd go with one solid colour, but textured (I quite like blue), one striped and one with a pattern of some sort- I have one with little fluer de Lis, for example, or one in a family tartan. I find the stripes a little less formal, so if you have a combination outfit or a suit in a less-formal colour, like a brown, that'd be when I would be more inclined to wear it. I hope my two-cents are useful
@TomF1970

@@JD-vv2qp thanks for your insight. Those are good suggestions. As you are probably aware, the UK is big on regimental ties. I kinda wish the US would have taken up that tradition. I was thinking of getting the Engineer Regiment tie. I seriously doubt anyone would recognize my university - it's tiny and insignificant. I might sport a lapel pin as well but I have until July until I have to go, so plenty of time to shop and put this together. Save a few pennies along the way.
For Dress shirts I plan on getting white and light blue in the near future. I have some others that are more colorful in my wardrobe. How many dress shirts do you think we need to go with everything is 3-5 a good minimum? I'm sure you have a guide on this as well.Also can you wear short sleeve button shirts with sweaters and jackets? Sorry hope the 2 questions aren't a bother.I also have short sleeves in my closet.

What about tailoring for the suit and sportcoat? Minimal alterations are usually at the sleeve length and the pant length. In my experience that can range from 20-30 per alteration so about 40-60 dollars.

Damm you're getting ripped off, hems shouldn't be more than 8 bucks for pants, 15 for jacket sleeves. At that point why not just buy a sewing machine and alter all your own clothes, a machine is like 80 bucks.
@MauricXe
4 жыл бұрын
@@gilbertoflores7397 you're getting a good deal. A google search returned the following Prices for common alterations typically fall into these broad ranges: Hemming Pants, Skirts, or Dresses: $10 to $25 - Skirts with a lining cost more to hem than unlined ones. Shortening Sleeves: $15 to $40 - Jacket sleeves cost more than shirt sleeves, and jackets with buttons and linings cost more than plain ones. To your second question, the time, effort, and risk I'd undertake to do it myself isnt worth it. The dollar cost is an easy tradeoff for me. Do you do it yourself?
@gilbertoflores7397
4 жыл бұрын
@@MauricXe have you ever tired to learn? It's super easy, I have altered my own clothes, it might seem scary, that's why you practice on cheaper clothes. I would pay for alterations, because I know a great tailor who doesn't charge much at all, and has been doing it professionally for like 30 years, she alter a whole suit for me for like 40 bucks. While I do enjoy her work, and trust her completely, getting 10+ shirts and pants altered is not something I like doing. As I'm oddly proportioned, I have a thick neck and slim waist, that nothing off the rack, no matter how high end, will fit. Completely custom made shirts are probably my best option (but I'd never do because the cost is kind of ridiculous), however, because I can just alter the bigger shirts to for me, it cost me maybe a quarter, sometimes less the cost of the custom shirt. I go to the tailored for suit related things, but for regular shirts, pants, trousers, and t shirts, it's best to learn to do it. Might seem like an investment of time, but totally worth it, in the long run to have everything fill well, even if it was "cheap". And if you learn to do it or how eat it is to alter clothes, you would know you're getting ripped off at those prices the other tailors charge. I do enjoy my tailor, and her prices are more than fair, I guess. But fixing/altering pants takes like 3 minutes of work. It's super easy.

Right off the bat I'm afraid you started too low on the suit. I understand it's for the sake of the video but as far as I know there aren't any good options outside of thrifted/second hand suits. A $200 suit is an h&m or Zara suit. They feature fused (glued) construction which gets destroyed after one cleaning or within 6 months, or less if you're only wearing 2 suits. They are also made of poly fabrics which don't insulate well and will leave you feeling hot and uncomfortable. Perhaps starting at $400 or $500 would have been better where you can get a suit from suitsupply or indochino, they have half canvas construction and are made of wool. Even though they are made in China you will get more bang out of your buck and definitely a longer lifespan than with a $200 option.
@Myrslokstok
4 жыл бұрын
Element of Man True but for guys that wear them once a month it might seam a bit to expencive at once. If I only had $1.000 to spend I would go for a blue suit, where the jacket might dubble up a bit as a blazer. I do think you need 3 suits and 3 blazers, but that would probably be enough for moore then half of all guys.
@gilbertoflores7397
4 жыл бұрын
Actually the poly suits are more often designed to be for the work force, were as the nice wool are for comfort and not for heavy use. So you'll probably ruin those suits faster than a synthetic one that while doesn't feel like it breaks in, will last longer because it's made more rigid. Don't knock "affordable" suits, just because you didn't spend a lot on them. Sometimes function cost less and are a better option for what you might need. A nice is is nice, but really not necessary if you just tailor an affordable one right, actually go to a tailor and if they're honest with you, they'll tell you the same thing, a cheap suit tailored well can last a good while. And 200 is a good amount to buy a decent suit, just wait for a sale from a department store, suits are in that 200 range easy.

Juan Two 3 lol that’s a given 😉 I wouldn’t dare wear the same one back to back days. I’d mix in a blazer if I didn’t have multiple suits. I love wearing suits everyday.
