Amazing Build! Rock On!
Breath taking, those songs and rock in general is why I play my SG and other guitars. It has a pulse, unlike today's music. Keep on rocking dude, great work.
Absolutely stunning! Your mix of different specs was such a good decision. The deep contours of the older sg is such a good look and going with the volute to address the gibson headstock issue is great. The vibrola and white guard top it all off beautifully! Amazing work!

Yes I would like a 69 walnut Custom that I saw on reverb (probably the first found on google image), then I saw the price, I estimated the customs and tax. Then I chose to try to build one instead with my own tastes and that's it ! Thank you !
Dude! I love the mahogany. That definitely looks Custom Shop level with the grade of wood and one piece mahogany body.

This is gorgeous 🤟 The SG is my absolute favorite axe.
That sir, is one of the best SG I've ever seen, shame its a custom build and not more widely available, I would certainly buy one if it was!
Gibson should watch this. They completely forgot how to build an SG. The modern ones are completely wrong when it comes to the contours and bevels of an original SG.

Not really bro, their instruments can be wicked. Just the hardware is a bit iffy sometimes. Gibsons need upgrades out the box though if you care about that stuff
@contemposuits1983
4 жыл бұрын
@@zankfrappa6427 I didn't say they make bad guitars these days. They make great guitars. It's just that if you look closely at an SG from the sixties, they bevels are very deep and pronounced in comparison to a new one. It's especially evident where the horns are. The old ones have a deep carved horns and come to an actual point. The side body bevel is about an inch and a half wide where a modern one is maybe an inch wide. I have a couple vintage SG's and a modern one.

Beautiful! Great color choices and how they contrast and compliment the other colors. I never would have thought to use that brownish cherry on the body with that color full-size pickguard! Probably my favorite part of the build. I hope anyone watching this who wants to get into building payed attention to the step of using grain filler before applying finish. Grain filler is what makes the huge difference between a high school wood shop project and a guitar body rolling off the Gibson assembly line so to speak! Well done, well documented! I didn't make the neck, only cut the heel because it was wrong. Yes it's 3° for the ABR-1. On this one, the neck pocket is flat, the neck already has a 3° angle. For the others SG I made, I converted bolt-on necks to set necks, so I had to route the neck pocket for the appropriate angle. What do you mean by until it touches the fretboard? The length of the tenon?
