For the first time, a Nigerian actually stated clearly the problem with Nigeria. Nigeria's problem is not really corruption. The problem is over-centralization, which benefits only Northern Nigeria, who are using the resource revenue from the South like their private wealth. If Rivers State was allowed to keep 100% of their oil wealth, other States will develop their own resources, and the economy will automatically diversify, creating lots of jobs. Each State will will develop their resources and control their own destiny. Industries will move to States that have good infrastructure, like uninterrupted power supply, for instance. And no one has question why the Government has broken up the country into small States that are not even economically viable. People don't know it is a divide-and-rule tactic, designed to help Hausa-Fulani power block maintain power.

To expand your opinion further, their chosen vehicle was the illegal 1999 'constitution' that exponentially expanded federal powers and the exclusive list. The Haues/Fulani are determined to maintain their new notion of Nigeria at any costs, treating the North as a monolith. Any hint of dissent or self-determination from northern Minorities risks brutal suppression or outright armed siege using rederal resources. A smooth-running Nigeria is not really their priority but to be in charge. They are also keenly aware of divisions in the niger delta, the Yorubas sitting on the fence and the Igbo quandry. Northern power holders will pretend to be working for northern interests. If this were so, how come the region is one of the poorest in the world inspite of their long stay in power? This is simply a skillful design by a select few for self preservation and profit. And what about Nigeria, you ask? For now, we all go through the motions but deep down, who really cares about that contraption!!
