This is still a fun movie even if you don't like gangster flicks, great work by the costume and set designers, definitely captured that speakeasy vibe. Jodie Foster absolutely nails it playing a floozy chanteuse, a shame she never got to play a more mature version of this character, she would have been great as she had the attitude and the body language down pat. I would have loved to have seen her do the kind of roles Joan Blondell did so well back in the 1930s too as she had the comic chops for it. Does anyone else agree with me? Thanks for making this clip available.

Even at a young age, Jodie Foster was far too big for this role at the time, it’s a miracle they were able to get her for a film like Bugsy Malone 😂😂I think even the director and producers said as much, saying she was a major addition that they were somehow miraculously able to cast for what would’ve been a minor movie for her even back then.

Even at a young age, Jodie Foster was far too big for this role at the time, it’s a miracle they were able to get her for a film like Bugsy Malone 😂😂I think even the director and producers said as much, saying she was a major addition that they were somehow miraculously able to cast for what would’ve been a minor movie for her even back then.

i love this song i was in bugsy malone as a show on a BIG stage!!!!!!
That charisma, class, being so comfortable at that young age, the way she moves, looks at the guys... Man, Jodie Foster's an American treasure! And she shines in every scene she appears. Also, what a catchy song and what a badass name Tallulah is!

My Name Is Tallulah Paul Williams (songwriter) My name is Tallulah My first rule of thumb I don't say where I'm going Or where I'm coming from I try to leave a little reputation behind me So if you really need to You'll know how to find me My name is Tallulah I live till I die I'll take what you give me And I won't ask why I've a made a lot of friends In some exotic places I don't remember names But I remember faces Lonely You don't have to be lonely Come and see Tallulah We can chase your troubles away If you're lonely You don't have to be lonely When they talk about Tallulah You know what they say No one south of Heaven's Gonna treat you finer Tallulah had her training In North Carolina My name is Tallulah And soon i'll be gone An open invitation Is the road i'll travel on I'll never say goodbye Because the words upset me You may forgive my going But you won't forget me Lonely You don't have to be lonely Come and see Tallulah We can chase your troubles away If you're lonely You don't have to be lonely When they talk about Tallulah You know what they say No one south of Heaven's Gonna treat you finer Tallulah had her training In North Carolina

This film would not be made nowadays. Quite right too.
Went to watch this and the ad played beforehand is for the Masterclass on directing/acting featuring, you guessed it, Jodie Foster.
At the age of 6 I found Tallulah very attractive... Im 14 now and it still applies, Kinda.

We were doing this musical in school. When we were doing this song and the line "When they talk about Tallulah you know what they say." My friend and I both said "SLUT!"
Nostalgia feels. I love this

We're doing Bugsy Malone for our Year 6 Leavers Concert at my school and I wanna be Tallulah or a dancer girl. I love this song. Really hope I get the part :D
Holy shit. Loved this movie when I was a kid. Scott Baio was so little, and adorable, lol.
