Egon is so smart he wouldn't know if he was being hit on or not which is why he's so blunt, honest and forward with his answers.

I think he knows... Egon is a bit complexed. I doubt its naivety and I doubt its inexperience. "Women are more interested in my epididymis." He seemed genuine and like he knows what he is doing. I think it was just total disinterest.

Her line delivery is just perfect. I don't know why, but I always laugh at "I also play racketball".

RIP Harold Ramis.

Thats why the Film is great. The Detail that Venkman insults her and then immidiatly apologizes Shows how under Stress he is, how cool she is and that they are grown ups, not KIDS.

My fave line from the movie. "I collect spores, moulds and fungus." - Classic.

If you watched Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Egon's not lying, he does collect spores, molds, and fungus.

"type something will you, we're paying for this stuff'", "I collect spores, moulds and fungus"....just great lines all through this film.

Egon: I collect spores, molds, and fungus. *sarcastically* Well, that's a turn-on.

Too many films are all spectacle, no style. It's the little details like this scene that make this one a classic.

I knew Egon didn’t know Janine was flirting with him and never reciprocated her advances but they did their relationship different times in the tv series. I have this theory for ghostbusters afterlife that Janine is phoebe and Trevor’s grandmother and she eventually married Egon during those 30 years when there hasn’t been ghost sightings and she’s the mother of Callie Spengler, phoebe and Trevor’s mom. Rip beloved Harold ramis. Maybe after phoebe and Trevor were both, Janine left the farmhouse land and ranch home Egon bought during his research he spent years doing and went back to New York City to try and be a different business secretary because the ghostbusters shut down. But maybe she will get tracked down with peter, ray and Winston by phoebe and Trevor and their science teacher ( Paul Rudd) and maybe they will reunite with Dana in someway. And we might see Oscar again hopefully 🙏 because he was so adorable, that little baby

Venkman is really not as big of a jerk as he presents himself to be. I think he intentionally makes people think he's a bit jerkish, as he's the group's main spokesman. The fact he knows he said something that probably offended Janine and apologized shows he's not tone-deaf. And later on he doesn't take advantage of Dana while she's possessed, even though "she" was ripe for it.

@rosariomar77 I think almost everyone nowadays thought the same thing. I kno when I first watched it I was like "O_o what was he doing under the desk???"
