Exactly. This is exactly how my male budgie would be with my female budgie. This is why having at least two of the same species is so important.

I hope the budgie has another budgie partner. It wants to groom the pigeon, but they dont know their language. Budgies live in big groups in nature. They are very sociable. Every parrot needs the same breed partner.

The budgie is fine. It looks healthy and happy and isn’t confined to a tiny cage. Budgies will talk to anything. Mine talked to my hamster.

It’s so funny when the pigeon “mock pecks,” or waits for the budgie to pop away to peck in the budgies direction, but never hurts the little bird. So cute ❤

Yup, well said, some people are just nasty and ugly inside. Empty headed is a good one. this is why I don't have my channel public. We have 2 awesome beautiful cats and 2amazing adorable smart potty trained rescued bearded dragons. And miserable trolls lol are the last thing I want to deal with in my happy home

He has a sweet song. Had a bugie that would sing his heart out and all the birds would gather outside his window.

Owned many Budgies. They are often very nervous and quiet birds when young. But when they're finally used to being around you, my goodness, they become overly excited in seeing you. They want to be as close to your face as possible. They want to see the inside of your nostrils, nibble your hair, and call after you (like a lost child) when you walk away.

The fact he or she will just sit there by choice and not go bat 💩 crazy, flying around constantly instead blows my mind. Let alone everything else. Is this the norm for budgies or is yours like that one off kid that should be teaching the teachers instead?

So cute and organic, preening together. The pigeon doesn’t have much to say, he’s just looking at the little one like, uh, alrighty then.

The way the pigeon is so much bigger but backs onto the edge of the chair to get away is so funny. The budgie also starts mimicking the pigeons movements to make it more comfortable! They're both very sweet

I can't help but laugh at the way when the budgie came over and touched the pigeon with the side of its face, cuz the way the pigeon re-cleaned the area where the budgies face was so funny

Looks like a typical conversation between an introvert and an extrovert.

I am amazed how calm is the pigeon. I would not even try because I know my pet pigeon would sadly hurt any small bird. He is a very territorial male that attacks even plush animals.

Budgie is in love with the pigeon. Pigeon is slightly confused by this. They are both adorable! ❤❤❤

He's trying to court it. When a budgie doesn't have one of its own species to pair up with, but another bird of roughly similar size is available, it can try to court the bird even though they're different species. I hope you're careful with them interacting like that, it looks like the pigeon was annoyed and went to peck at him to back off and with its longer straight bill it could harm the budgie if it catches him in the eye.

I think the budgie is interested in preening the pigeon. He keeps almost touching the pigeon and the preening himself like "See? I just want to do this to you. Let me play with your feathers please" and the pigeon is like "Uhhh, personal space bro"

Although the pigeon has a far larger brain, it's absolutely clueless what's going on

Meanwhile the pigeon's upbringing and demeanor is more... " *_feral_* " if that makes sense? For instance, *insects.* They're usually equally pests. Just doing programmed things. Then, you have the *Praying Mantis* - behaves in a humanoid manner, it looks at you and tracks you. It is freaky regardless being a lesser insect - theoretically. Same as a jumping spider, their behaviors are just more approachable or beyond its purpose; it's curiosity. Compared to a huge senseless spider.

Our budgies are too scared of our barn swallow to try to talk to him. He’s a bit of a loner but when he flies around they are flat out scared. I guess he is black and kinda hawk shaped. But he’s half the size of them. Birds are so fascinating.

A very content budgie. The owner keeps things nice and clean.

Pigeon has a very limited vocabulary. Budgie is a flying dictionary.

Got a nice little play set, some greenery, a cool little humidifier, a safe environment, I love seeing people take good care of animals.

Seems the little parakeet just wants to help the pigeon preen its feathers but the pigeon isn't so sure or trusting of the little guy 😂❤

I love birbs! Birbs have it all figured out.

I bet preening is like yawning. If you see someone else do it, you have to start.

I think when birds groom together they are showing affection. I noticed it with all different birds. My birds will stand on me or close by and groom but don't want me to touch them. It's sweet.

So like the interaction between my pigeon ( rescued with broken wing from road accident 8 years ago - now flies well) and Quaker parrot rescued 2 years ago- small and green like this budgie They carry on very like the two in this video! Really charming.

This reminds me of my friend and her boyfriend. He's big, quiet, and strong. She's little, chatty, and cute.

This is adorable. I too have a pigeon who has 3 budgie buddies. "Pidgee" has been with me about 15 years. She is very smart and alert. Notices everything. The budgies sing and play a lot so the whole group has company. I have them in 2 cages, side by side. Thanks so much for this unusual video!!!! USA 😊

Budgies are the "biggest" little birds. They rarely are put off by a bigger bird & think everybirdy is their friend. They will "talk" to anybirdy.
