Stu what year was that? As things are a lot more expensive! Buddy, I am renting a flat in the North, in Sheffield. I have forgot to apply for single discount on my council tax, but either way council tax alone is £160 a month, rent, £560 (which is cheap for here), bills (I was not here for 6 months and my electric was still £100 per month). Food, beer, life is just so expensive! You seem a really cool guy. Can I ask, how old are you? Are you retired? Do you have a pension? What is your budget/income per month? Are you happier in life been in Thailand? It would be great to connect and hear from you. Thanking you buddy. Dave

@@davewordsworth1251 I'm 54 I'm not retired I live off investments and trading. If your planning on coming here you need an income 100% and a reliable one 2nd-you need savings min of 20k or two years money. I can live on £600 a month if I have to and I done that a lot since I've been out here for two years. It's not all great I feel into depression I had some terrible luck I lost both my parents and all my income did collapse at one point it was awful. Ive since got over that and I'm living a better life now. Don't get me wrong I've had some amazing times here and I have a wonderful girlfriend and I don't take any of it for granted. I stay grounded I don't really drink and don't go with bar girls you will burn though money as quick as it comes in.. Im giving you my honest opinion and I could go on a lot longer just really think things through before coming out here..

Hi Stu, thank you so much for your reply. I am sorry to hear about your parents. I do feel Buddhism is correct and some research into that you will be aware that they are in a better place. Depression is horrible, I have experienced that a lot. I am not a big drinker, I have been trying none alcohol beers lately, as I found alcohol was exaberating my depression and killing motivation, focus and energy. I will/may drink again, but in moderation. It has been 5 weeks without and I am more focused. I could tell you some storys of sat by myself in a bar here in Sheffield at 4am! Quite sad really. You are doing the right thing been over there. Like I say, my council tax alone is £160 a month! The West and England has fallen. I just want to be somewhere safe and small @@Stuclinton

I just subscribed to your channel this past weekend and knew I recognized your Amathyst Cottage :). I plan on moving to Cha Am / Hua Hin in November with my two Shih Tzu and one cat. I know, crazy. I've got a couple questions for you I'll submit on your last video.
Jonny, I love you, man! You have been like a big brother to so many of us out here thinking about making the leap and moving to Thailand.
Wow ! more house renting videos! Awesome for people looking to move here! Thanks Jonny!
Still cheap to live in Thailand! Great video! I like when you make these videos of rental costs. I like the budget range you were in and I’m sure a lot of others do as well.
Thanks for the guided tours Jonny. Good value too. Looking forward to the condos👍
Thanks Jonny. Its confirming my decision to move there in April. Great places and that last one is spot on. Stay safe.
That's cheaper than I could find 35 years ago Jonny. And those are real houses, not condos. I liked the one where you could easily walk everywhere. Thanks for the updates.

Jonny, a well done to you for your search, tour and overall video. You are such a pleasant change from the 15 or more KZreadrs showing the exact same condos and each representing it as a great find. You do really discover some great finds! 13k was a great deal but the 9k is off the charts. Always enjoy your content, regardless the subject.

I'm in Sri lanka, 120 dollars for a 1 bed for the month.Own Kitchen, garden. Quiet location and 3 mins walk to a stunning beach. There are bargains to be had if you can be bothered looking and asking locals.
Great rates...thanks...going to check out the area next month 😊

Oh wow, those look great. Would be so nice to have a house and not just a condo. Thanks for the info!
Hi mate, great videos
I really like this kind of video!
Under $4000 a year for those properties, one was even $2000 USD I think! Wow...as an American I am truly stunned and would just love to "make the jump". Thanks Jonny for the tour!
Now the last one for 9,000 is the best. Jonny is now our neighborhood realtor. Thank you Jonny
Second place was good enough for me mate. But that last one was bloody brilliant! My son is paying $400/wk for a tiny place on the Goldie! Your old stomping ground. Great vid, buddy!
always required details & map locations in description, well done mate.

Hello Johnny hope you’re very good. Very good . I’ve been saying this for years, you don’t need a palace to live in Thailand from 4000 to 15000 you can live so comfortably . Here in the Uk including my electric, I pay £600 a month that’s 27,000 thai baht roughly so when I come next year, I can afford something nice. It gives a good in-depth rather people have a little money you need, especially if a person can stay away from the alcohol. It’s so cheap compared to the UK. Very interesting videos. Thank you very much Regards DSM UK 🇬🇧 ☺️
Good one mate.
Really enjoy your videos. We are moving to hua hin in April 2024. Be great if you could do a video on public transport like buses from the outskirts of Hua Hin. Am going to email frangipani resort because of your video. Brilliant and thank you. AL and Tony from England 😊

More on this please.. Many thanks for your efforts 👍
The English guy has fallen on his feet with his three-bedroom house for 9000 BHT with car parking, a public pool, and an en-suite master bedroom. For a single guy ideal. The location gives you access to all the local amenities. If I was on a tight budget I could live there. Take care GOD Bless you and yours. M
Hey Jonny. Thanks for the vid mate. You make good ones. Some nice places. They all look good but that second place does look like the pick. Was Stu’s place including all the furniture for THB9k mate? Cheers Jonny for this eyeopener info. Cant beat Thailand for prices v quality ratio. My rent in London is 1700GBP/month for a 1 bedroom hole in a council flat. GDAY🍺
@stevenhull5025
10 ай бұрын
What council charges you £1700 per month for social housing?? Are you sure the tenant of the council is not subletting to you?? That is illegal by the way.
The layouts of these places would be hard to get used to. Little strange for me. Interesting though, thanks for the tour.
Jonny great vlog as always, just missing the ladies haha. Been meaning to ask if you still see your American friend, Bob, I think it was, the chap from Home Depot in the States, and you helped him find a house to rent, wow must be 2 years ago already. Is he still around, seemed like a nice chap? And do you hear from your other English mate who you helped rent his house last year? Cheers Jonny, Best wishes, Tim.
Your video's are the best that I've seen. I'm looking for a nice, quiet ( quiet is essential ) 2 bedroom, nice kitchen ( I cook all of my meals ) within walking distance of local fruit and vegetable markets but also within walking distance of Villa Market. It doesn't have to be a house.
Still can’t come to terms with no windows in most rooms in some of the properties but yeah super cheap rentals.
My goodness, I could live super comfortable in Thailand on my retirement! I've got to get my arse moving!

Hi there, for a couple looking to retire early and live somewhere like Jomtien or Hua Hin, and rent a decent 2 bed condo not on the beach, can you give an estimate on a healthy monthly budget for the two of us? Is $3k/month (CAD) a healthy budget to allow for everything such as medical, dental, mini staycations, etc? TIA! Great videos btw.
Hi mate. Have you any update on what is happening with the retirement visa ? Thanks fro NZ.
Hi Jonny, Would I be right in saying i may have seen Som in Melb in the last few weeks ? Can't recall exactly or where exactly.. black Beema??
9k for the last property. Great value. couldn't get a broom cupboard in BKK for that.
Interesting..... I've never seen a video that's 8-months-old or more where the price that they list is less now than it was when they shot the video. As of today that place is $244 USD so $10 cheaper
I just moved to Hua Hin about 3 weeks ago. Definitely in the market for a house 🤙🏻 thanks for the info! These look more like townhouses ya? I’m not so keen on sharing walls with folk. I tend to listen to my music loud and love to do karaoke. Would be nice to see some stand alone houses!
One more year - OR LESS. See you soon, Johnny!
Where is the best place to look at rental listings online for Hua Hin and other areas?
What is internet like? Is it accessible and fast?
