VIDEO SUGGESTS! Recipes using Canned Salmon. I got a very very very good sale on canned salmon. I do already make “Salmon Patties/Cakes” and we love them. Please and Thank you!

Great video, yet again, Chris and Sharla! Hey, check with your bulk barn as to where you can purchase Hungarian paprika. If you can't find it there, they'll probably know where there is some. Our Sobeys and Superstore have International food aisles. If your grocery stores do too, you just might find it here! Oh, and Dave can't have seeds, so I would grind the caraway seeds (I'm not a huge fan of it either, Christie) in a coffee grinder or something and use it that way. Keep up the great work you do, ladies!! 🥰😘

We live in Oregon. We spend 5 months out of the year fishing out on the coast. I know we spend more money than you on fish just in boat gas but it is so much fun. We provide other family members with fish for the year and we catch and eat a lot of salmon, Ling cod, tuna and halibut. I have not used your fish recipes for freezer meals, but I may at some point. I do have a recipe for halibut Chowder that is better than clam chowder. All this to say, try a freezer chowder (the recipe I used had a bottle of clam juice and fennel bulb instead of celery in it), but put the fish in a separate bag and add later? The fish in the recipe is added in the last 10 minutes of cooking on a simmer.

Yes, you probably do but what you get for it, is so worth it! The variety, it's wild-caught, plus the family time. I love that so much. Thanks for the idea on the chowder. We don't have clam chowder either so maybe a halibut chowder would be the way to go. Our last attempt at a fish soup was a bust! Lol

You two are the best! My new goal is to move to Alberta and live safe in the knowledge that there are no rats. If you had no mice I'd already be there becaue I'm terrified of them both. I'm only afraid of 3 things in the world: heights, mice/rats, and spontaneous human combustion (which probably isn't even real, but it might be!) and I'd have a freak out you'd be able to hear clear to Canada if I had to deal with a rat camper! Yikes.

My grandparents came over from the carpathian mountains as kids... my aunt will make her goulash like yours... my dad will argue till his last breath it's supposed to be "smooth" and basically a tomato beef stew with spices...😂 so even within the same family there are differences!

We had a day like you describe. I won't share the sad details, but it involves our dog suddenly passing away 😞, a plumbing leak with flooding, and a surprise overnight visit from relatives who ended up sleeping in the popup trailer and helping us with the mess. Making family memories is not always so fun at the time - right?

I see you have a Marshall's. I find great spices and seasonings at places like Marshall's, T.J. Maxx, home goods, and Ross. If you have any of those, you might want to check them out, plus they're usually cheaper.

In Canada, we have Marshall's, Winners and Homesense, which are all under the same flag (TJX) as TJ Maxx, I believe. And you're right, you can find real gems there. Great idea. Well have a look!

We have quite a few Australian members but they have to get creative when it comes to substituting some grocery items that you can't get there, or unfortunately you may have to skip them but with over 350 meals in the Club there are plenty of options.

do you think you could use seafood btoyh in the fish stew?

do you mean broth? I've been looking at this comment for a couple of days and just not sure how to answer you. lol Yes - a proper seafood broth might make the difference. Because fish is such a light flavour, you need to really be intentional when making the broth. That's why chefs will use the tails from the shrimp, and the hard bits from the crab and lobster to help season the broth, the same way we would use chicken bones or beef bones to make broth. I think it just wasn't a deep enough flavour. It wasn't rich at all. I suggested to Sharla that we even find a packet of seasoning that could enhance it. Many of our recipes are from scratch but we have some that we use dry onion soup mix or au jux mix and taco seasoning. I don't see this being any different. Maybe someday we'll try again.

@@FreezerMeals101 yes i meant broth sorry i have a kid who turns off my light all the time and i can't see my keyboard or screen half the time when typing. i saw that you were not happy with this recipe but i think i have an idea of how to make a version that at least my family would love. i just haven't decided if i should use a seafood broth or a clamento juice. good news my husband and kids are up for trying anything i fix for them.
