Buddy miles...on the drums... "The Badest of the Bad" died of congestive heart failure at age 60. People watch what you eat, diet if you're overweight and exercise your body!

Gawd, I love this song. And I miss those times of “Changes”. It’s just stupid times now… when music doesn’t matter. It’s all about ‘likes’ now. Oh Buddy… I miss you and your music.

1971. I was a junior in high school. Got recruited to play trumpet in the warm-up band on tour with Brownsville Station ... “Smokin’ in the Boys Room” one hit wonder. THIS song, Buddy Miles ... was the last song of our warm up set. We would drag it out as long as it took for Brownsville Station to get sober, get backstage, or whatever they needed to do to give us the signal to wrap it up and announce them to the stage. Sometimes ..... “We Got to Live Together” was half an hour long!!, I grew up a LOT while on tour that summer!!!,, Miss those young times now after a great life ..... remembering “when” now. Glad I never got arrested ... more than that time in Borger Texas. One night in jail was worth it now that I can laugh about it. Ration New Mexico next day was easy to get to.

A great great song for and to the whole wide world..They never could learn to implement..Racial discrimination they prefer...Great masterpiece..RIPP Buddy..You really played funky drums and sang your groovy heart out..We still love you so much..Reminds me/Fond memories of The Hippos 31 of Makurdi..Remember singer Emma Buddy,my friend..I sang for The Musketeers led by IK Mudodo Osagie..Our drummer was Barry Uba,my brother from Onicha Ngwa..And I am from Onicha Ezinihitte..

July 1970, Fillmore West Albert Collins 100 yards deep in the crowd struttin with his telecaster Come On Y'ALL Do the Sissy, Albert sang da blues for a 2 and half hour set. He got everybody warmed up. Then Buddy Miles was up with his band, another 2 and half hour set. The last half hour Buddy and the band Jammed We Got TO LIVE TOGETHER!!!!!!!! Everybody was on their feet clappin their hands and singin with Buddy WE GOT TO LIVE TOGETHER. All for a cool 2 bucks. Lawd have mercy! Nowadays ya can hardly buy a soda for 2 bucks. Nuff to give ya da blues.

Went to the Fillmore every week Thursday and Sundays not only a big poster but a small one too. 3 bands. bottom line like Black Sabbath 1st time in America. Then a blues or jazz band then top bill like 10 Years After, Humble Pie. also it was 3 buck.Lol. Remember The Electric Flag??

Yes, yes, yes! Music and life has really been boring since then. Especially rock. I gave up on it around 1970. Only play real R&B, Blues, Soul, Jazz etc. now. Was so lucky to have spent hours with Buddy in his hotel room and ate with the band backstage. Life was good. We were very fortunate. Buddys band 'The Electric Flag'.

My older brother is the lead guitarist on this song. I was with my father the first time I heard it. I just got an e-mail from my Dad the other day. He just won a battle over cancer, and then he told about the time he met John McCain's Dad, right after my brother was born. His father-in-law, my maternal grandfather, was Captain of The U.S.S. St. Paul, and his First Mate was John McCain's Dad. They did three tours of The Korean War together. They perform this song right after Jimi Hendrix's funeral. At the time, I was at a boarding school with Judy Collins' kid sister. Her sister, Judy, was having a top 20 hit with her version of 'Amazing Grace', written by a ship Captain named John. True story, folks!
