Buddy De Franco always played very interesting musical solos.I had the pleasure to play with him for 2 weeks in 1968 on the Glenn Miller Band & for another 2 weeks in 1973 on the same band. He was the best leader I have worked for in my career.Gerry Cappuccio He was a great gentleman & Musician.
Burning solo. A lot of melodic stuff for all musicians to steal from.
This is fantastic bebop playing and mastering of the instrument...and to think that critics said he was too " mechanical "- them that cant do criticize.
Absolutely brilliant. Have been following Buddy for 60yrs and always wondered how he did it. Great to see the notes just how he played it. Play on in heaven Buddy, we shall miss you.

Great solo by Buddy
Buddy was perhaps the greatest technical jazz clarinetist after Benny Goodman.

+Bob Bly Arguably the first clarinetist - and one of the few, to move beyond Swing and Goodman's influence and learn from Charlie Parker and absorb the Be Bop vocabulary. Eddie Daniels is another cat, but he's much younger - still alive.
Great..I hear the melodic Bird-isms especially on the Bridges.

I transcribed it over many weeks (during train journeys with my laptop). I used the program Transcribe! to slow it down. Did many things by ear and used the build in keyboard to verify the lines i heard ;)
