Sow it - The first phase opens on the 10th of March and this stage is all about the planning. What will it look like, where will it go? Is there a theme? It’s totally up to you! Once you have a plan, you can start sowing the seeds to get it going.
We want to encourage children to discover the joy of gardening and are inviting your class to take part! There will be a winning class at both Junior and Senior cycle levels and they will each win a cash prize of €2,000 that can be spent on your school’s garden. RTE Super Garden Judge and Woodie’s Gardening Expert, Brian Burke, will be selecting the winners and awarding the prizes before the end of the school year. We are asking your class to work on a gardening project - create a small class garden and follow three progressive phases of SOW IT, GROW IT & SHOW IT. Each phase brings your class a step closer to finishing their garden project and to becoming either the Junior Cycle or Senior Cycle Woodie’s Budding Gardeners Class of 2023. Everything your class needs for the project is available right here on the Budding Gardeners website and is easily downloadable.
