BUDDHIST CAVES ON AFGHANISTAN BORDER
Hello Guys,
In this video, I have shared my experience of visiting Termez, Uzbekistan. I have visited some ancient Buddhist caves on Afghanistan border. Due to the recent changes in Afghanistan scenario I was little worried also.
One of Central Asia's oldest towns, Old Termez, located a few kilometres west of the modern city along the Amu Darya river, was established sometime before the 3rd century BC. The city may have been known to the Achaemenids In April 2002, the city held a celebration of its 2,500th anniversary

There was a time when entire central Asia from Siberia to Afghanistan was Buddhist. The scriptures were mostly written in Pali using Brahmi script. Unfortunately things changed dramatically after 9th century. After conversion people destroyed evidence of their older culture and religion and eventfully forgot their glorious past.

Brahmi script needs much more research. Studying it can help to crack Indus Valley Civilisation scripts, and link Ancient Sanskrit to Cyrillic and Hebrew scripts. Sadly it is not going to happen anytime soon

@@Sssrmind0089 Absolutely true. Just imagine what secrets ancient Brahmi script hides. And the vast, immense expanse of knowledge from Indus Valley. We know nothing about it now😪. This can settle centuries old myths(facts) like Aryan theory, casteism, Dravidian theory etc. It surprises me so much to think how once Budhhism was followed by Kushans and Bactrians who were Greeks themselves but embraced Indic traditions. We know only 5% from that era. Unfortunately most evidence is lost or destroyed so cannot regain anything now. The fact is even Uzbeks and Afghans today donot accept they were Budhhist once. Sad sad fact.
