Hi Em, I got into one of my cravings today and ate waay too much citrus. We live in NEW ORLEANS and grow sweer kumquats, blood oranges, ruby grapefruit, satsumas, key limes and lemons. The sweet kumquats we grow are SUPER SWEET includingthe skin. I usually use them for sweet jelly with ghost peppers. The heat and sweet are great together.

I love the aroma! It is the best one I have come across in my culinary exploration. I had seen it on a cooking show many years ago and then found one at whole foods. The aroma was worth the price all by itself. When I researched it I found most uses were for housekeeping effects, like drawer sachets, room aromatizers, etc. Basically a way of using the peel to extract the oil and then use it to spread that marvelous aroma around the house. I also saw it used as a beautiful table centerpiece for dinner parties holidays etc. I am so glad to see it made into a crystallized gel candy. Those types of sweets are commonly used in my culture(Greek) served in a dish for people to nibble on while having a cup of coffee. Some of the sweets are left in some of their syrup and served in a bowl and passed around with small spoons. Thus their name spoon sweets. They are also followed by an offering of an ice cold glass of water. This used to happen traditionally in the late afternoon post siesta when a jolt of caffeine from coffee and a spoon of a bright flavored sweet gets you up and going for the rest of the day. My favorite ones were the sweets that had that bit of contrasting bitterness like Quince and baby oranges. I'm sure the Buddha's hand would be great made both in the dry and wet method. Can't wait to find one to give it a try. The traditional afternoon siesta followed by a coffee get together may not happen often but we can keep the traditional foods alive for another generation with some new additions! Yummy 😋

I was thinking along those lines, sort of. Citron flavoring, get a good quality clean vodka, chop the citron fine, maybe with a food processor. Pack into a jar, cover with vodka. Let it soak a couple of weeks. Meanwhile, freeze the rest of the chopped citron in jar-size batches so it doesn't go bad. When you finish soaking the first batch, pour the alcohol off into a second jar of citron. Add a little more vodka to top off, you'll lose a little with each soak. If you start with several citrons, you can keep pouring over to a new batch for awhile, your extract getting stronger each time. You can then use the flavoring in whatever you want. Cakes, pudding, ice cream, syrup, frosting, sauces for chicken or seafood, mixed drinks, sodas...

I'm in the same boat with you. There is one particular asmr channel on here that just zens me out, _Wordless ASMR_ . Her perfume samples rummaging video so relaxing. It's long, and I typically play it in the background when I need to focus. Better than classical music, IMHO. This is it, if you don't want to use my link I completely understand. Loads of weirdos on here. kzread.info/dash/bejne/h5x-p6aleabMpMo.html
