That rumble in the Bud! This was why I was a Budweiser fan when the rest of my family were Atlas fans. That changed when the Bud went turbine, however.
Love it!! Grew up in Kent, WA where every August I could hear the beautiful roar of those piston engines throughout Lake Washington and beyond. Always loved the hydros! Pay N Pak was my favorite. I miss the good ol' days when Pay N' Pak, Atlas, Bud, Circus Circus, Square Shop, etc...would go sponson-to-sponson.
Watching and hearing the V-12 powered boats brings a tear to my eye
This is awesome to see. I remember watching these boats race on tv as a young kid. The Atlas Van Lines boat was my favorite boat with Bill Muncey in the driver's seat. Such a sad day when she blew over, ending Bills life. I eventually built a nitro powered scale replica of the Miss Atlas Van Line. It was a wooden model kit put out by Dumas Model Boats, and I still have it to this day.
Awesome love it... seeing these classics...inertia started and all
I grew up on Mercer island. I remember many summers listening and watching these very same Thunder Boats.

To bad they messed up the logboom scene. So many memories of great partying during Seafair.
I have always wanted to drive one...
yes
Can't. Resist. Must. Touch. Myself. NOW! SCHWING!!!
Too bad the audio is so terrible. Someday, there will be no more V12s

The hydroplane museum in Kent is working very hard to make sure this doesn't happen. There will always be thunder boats in Seattle as long as there are people like David Williams at the helm.
