Something that really impresses me about Jay Leno, is that he is a genuine real car lover. Hes not your average nut swinger that likes one brand of cars, and makes fun of and runs his mouth about anything else. He has so many truly awesome and unique cars in his collection. Ranging from a few thousand to a couple million each.

Most people will talk crap,because of the fact,that he was a skateboarder. He was not known for being a race car driver.like the time:hulk Hogans son,try to make it in the D1 grand prize series. With a viper.while everyone else was trying to make it with 240's and corollas.

Great episode. Man I've been watching Jaye Leno cars back when I had to go on the actual CBS website and search around till I found the tonight show host showing clips of his car collection. I had no idea Leno was a car guy back then. I'm talking at least 10 years ago minimum. Anyways I respect his love for all things cars and isn't caught up in any silly crap saying he won't drive a certain brand or engine. If it moves then Leno will drive it. Steam , gas, jet engine and electric to name a few. lol This guy is a legend.

I got to hang out with Bucky Lasek for a charity karting race and he was so down to earth. Really cool and easy to get along with.

I love at 6.05 how Bucky holds the board bottom side to camera to advertise his deck and then he flips it round again - looking at the camera - after Jay hold it grip side to camera. Total professional salesman hahaha

The pair of them seem really cool together. That Tomei exhaust sounds so loud. Making the Subaru a true Subaru.

Love the intro he does of revving up the car 😎

I loved this! I drive a fully built 04 STI with 370 AWHP and 374 ft lbs tq. It’s the perfect balance of street drivability with outright power. I have owned the car for 9 years now and I hope for another 9 years of great enjoyment.

I’m glad you’re happy, but fully built and not coming close to 400awhp. That would be very disappointing to me. People know this going in when they buy an sti, but they still sell a lot of them. My 08 EVO on the other hand has a completely stock engine with bolt ons and a conservative MHI turbo upgrade making 456awhp/380tq on E85. Just saying. It’s a long standing rivalry obviously, but to me the EVO is a no brainer.

I have an 06 STI with a stock motor. Just has intake, exaust, fmic, bigger injectors and good tuning. Sitting at 335whp at the moment.

I could easily have mid 450awhp on the same build just a larger turbo and maybe larger injectors (which would have cost me the same price) but there is no need for a street vehicle that sees occassional autocross and track days. Waiting until 4K plus before boost hits removes so much drivability in my opinion. All I need is a flex fuel kit and a tune (totaling another $1200 or so) and I would have mid 400's AWHP and high 400's ft lb tq. I like evos as well, it is all preference, they are definitely cheaper to build. I built the vehicle for that exact output and reliability more than raw power numbers.

Interesting to see Jay Leno in a STi. I’ve always been fascinated by Subaru. It’s a comfy sedan hat doesn’t break the bank. You can be single and take all your friends places. Or take you and the family and the dog out for a picnic. Or you can carve up a canyon. Or take it on a ski trip. Or go mudding. Or go screw around on ice or snow. I simply have not found a more versatile car. Affordable. Quick. Easy to modify. Does anything you ask it. No it’s not the fastest but they are some of the most fun cars you can drive. Love it Jay ❤️🤙🏽

Subarus are pretty sweet. I don’t care for vanity mods but you can do a lot with the power train.

Unequal length headers is what gives the STI its unique engine sound. I am still waiting for the next generation 2020 WRX. Subaru, you better bring back the hatchback this time around!!!

Met Bucky at a Subaru event in 2016. I remember asking him about the 2017 season with Subaru and I could tell from his response it was not happening. He was actually sad about it as we all would be. Cool guy though. That day he took a new (off the lot) STi and shredded it with passengers for a few hours. Luckily we were auto crossing and were not in the crowd so we were on ground level. They dang car kept engaging traction and stability so it was killing his fun. Any way, cool dude. Best to you Bucky!

The front actually looks a bit like an Evo more so than usual, perhaps it's just the hood. Anyway awesome seeing Bucky enjoying life!

I kind of Remember Jay driving a Subaru on that race track a few years back. But it's nice to see him drive a hopped-up car and a newer one I often look for videos with Subarus or other Japanese cars and I don't see them I love all kinds of cars just like Jay and I have quite a few different cars in my life so far but I fell in the Subaru in the past three years it's a 98 Legacy nothing special wagon. But I enjoy seeing these what I would consider a muscle car versions of the economy car all wheel drive I think it was a great video and I enjoyed it

Toyota, Honda Mazda ,Nissan are all good cars that are very similar. Subaru is altogether different. Different engines different drivetrains. Few cars today are unique and distinctive in my view this makes Subaru something special .

The problem is that people when hearing "Subaru", imaging sport-like cars as GC8 STI with huge turbos and loud exhaust. But actually most nowadays Subaru is just a family wagons. Even WRX looks like a Daewoo Nexia on drugs with hillarious spoiler. Don't be mistaked, nowadays Subaru is not like before, they're lost all their teeth..

this a special industrial grade epoxy polymer coating, its extremely expensive to do a repair, and sometimes its even better to just leave it if its not fractured because it requires removal of a larger section.

@@isbemorph more than able to handle a skateboard wheel. Should be able to handle industrial racking, jack's, forklifts being dragged across it. When it's fresh you have to watch out for turning warm car tyres as it will tear it up

I love your show Jay. I used to own a 1988 Honda CRX Si in Barbados Yellow...it was an incredible car. My brother was the first owner and then when I got my license he handed it down to me and I put close to 70K miles on it. You should do a show on a '88 CRX Si. It is truly one of the greatest cars Honda ever made. Thanks.

I always wanted a WRX/STi but they were always above my price range these cars are really cool cars in the car scene they're fast from the factory and when modded and tuned they're even faster and the best part of it all there's so many Aftermarket supports for these cars whenever my Insurance decreases I'm thinking about actually getting one what I like about the WRX and STi and how they look already modified

Get one from japan I got a 2000 jdm forester sti with 33000km for 7k at the auction it should have been a 4 but Lucky for me it was a 3.5 because of a couple scratches on the bumper. (Canada let's you import 15 yrs old instead of 25yrs like USA.)

@@class2instructor32 True plus they have fewer kilometers and the S models like S204 S205 and so on are only found in Japan. You know they weren't abuse, Japanese usually take care of their cars.

I drive the same car. With a COBB Accessport and a custom tune, this thing screams. With e85 I'm at roughly 350AWHP and that is plenty. Any more and I'd be risking tickets much more =D

@@Texas_Cruiser it's basically 107 octane race fuel. Super cheap, but you have to generally increase fuel loading by 40% so you get about half the mpg... the smell from the engine is amazing. It also cleans your engine. Careful running it too much because you can corrode away gaskets in the fuel pump and cause failure of the HPFP which is expensive to replace.

@@kazikoFPV interesting! sucks cars have to be tuned for it or adjusted. Some even locked so they can't be. The documentary The Pump goes into that. Never knew the octane was that high. No wonder. I have a 96 Impala wish I could just throw some in it! It's been mail order tuned but maybe one day will put it on a real dyno and see what can be done for E85. May be too much for the engine though it has a mild cam.

Bucky Lasek is one of the best skateboarder of all time. Love the car.

Love this series. Like Seinfeld’s Comedians series but concentrated on the car not about coffee. Great job
