Ironically V is the most social of them all. He has so many friends and goes out of his way to frequently contact them and meet them. I think stardom and negativity of the industry really affected him and stole away his innocence compared to his debut days but I genuinely feel this personality of his is better. He very strongly declares his likes and dislikes and also defends the members when a few armys and antis tried to control them.

According to Jungkook RM lead BTS from front, Suga lead them from back. According to RM, Hobi (JHope) is the second leader. According to JHope, Jin as oldest had the responsibility to decide what group atmosphere/dynamic they were going to have... instead of being a authoritative oldest, Jin become a caring, easy going, easy to talk to, light hearted oldest. That decided their easy friendship and even the family feeling they have in the group. According to RM, Jimin is the most caring, nurturing member of the group. Jimin think V (Taehyung) is the most real, human member of the group. And Jungkook believe he is all of other members character coming together. So you can see, it's a very special relationship between 7 very special human.

V is a very genuine person.. he often calls out things and people he don't like... and compliments things that he likes... He might not show it but he listens and remembers all the things and actually do care about everyone alot.. I mean they all does.. they all are very humble and loving ..

the boys have mentioned many times that namjoon is the group leader for the public eye and most of the professional aspects of their group (especially when it comes to public speaking, translating etc), while jhope is their leader behind the scenes, in private and when it comes to performance stuff. I feel like they really do share the role and take on different parts of it. I also love seeing how they naturally fill in for each other when one of them is exhausted or overwhelmed. I feel like yoongi is definitely a father figure of sorts, in terms of taking on practical caretaking roles (like cooking for them, building/fixing stuff) and definitely in terms of life wisdom and comforting words :') He just doesn't seem that eager/comfortable to take over full control in a situation, so he's more of a steadying pillar in my eyes. Also not to forget Jin, who's like a fun older brother but also extremely reliable and nurturing and there to keep them grounded and balanced...he and jhope are doing so much to keep all their minds positive and the general group mood somewhat stable :') All in all it never fails to amaze me how much respect, gratitude and adoration they all have for each other... their teamwork has really become so strong over all the years :')

I think Jhope is more of their performance leader behind the scenes, Yoongi *does* lead behind the scenes, in videos we see usually RM and Yoongi being the first to speak up and lead their group discussions.

@@dysmissme7343 Well, being the leader is that, take care of their performance and take care of their work as a group, a role that Namjoon and Hoseok already share, something that aaaaaall the guys always say. Yoongi is a figure of respect in their group, and a reliable source whenever they need to talk about life of music, but Yoongi is not a guy who will be behind others, trying to take care about what everybody does in order to make the stuff work, something that Namjoon and Hoseok do, actually, and is the real work of a leader.

There was one time in Bon Voyage that Jimin just randomly mentioned that his pants were loose. Ngl, if that happened to me I will forget that or not pay attention to it. But V did and actually bought a thread and a needle for him. Jimin was shocked that V heard it and even remembered it. People like V and Suga are the ones that make me emotional bc of how caring they could get. There are no words that can explain how fond I am with these type of people.

Maybe watch some individual videos of the guys to see a clear focused look into their personalities and the duality in them. It could also be cool to watch the guys in smaller groups to see how they act with different members like the 3 younger ones Jimin+Tae+Jk always playing around orYoongi and Jimin are so funny always bickering, Hobi+Yoongi are super close and Jin+Namjoon are so goofy together. You also have Yoongi who acts indifferent but is so supportive of Tae and Kookie like him little brothers or Jin just taking care of all of them🤔 .

Notice how v is trying to talk and he will stop if someone is talking over and he will just listen,i really love that about him he mostly raise his hands when he wants to say something...

I think, in the beginning, what you see is the hunger. They were hungry for success. I think even they have commented about that. The way they felt then compared to how they feel now. Interestingly, even though they don't have the same need driving them now as they did then, they're still driven. They really have grown into the confident, talented, superstars that we watch today.

It's Suga's birthday March 9, he's 30 now (29 in western age). He did a Vlive for his birthday and he was as always his own unapologetically minimalist self. He's just there, staring at the screen genuinely trying to read Army's comments and answering in the most ordinary tone with his unique passive calm face expression not making any kind of effort whatsoever to be intertaining but still 100% present and attentive.There is something about him akin Zen boudhist monks. Definitely unique and fascinating. 💜

It’s really fuckin wild to watch Sugas lives because of that mix of dead-faced staring at the screen and then thoughtful comments It’s like nothing/no one else How does he have the *confidence* and comfort to be able to sit and do nothing on camera in front of millions of people?!!! I can’t claim to understand, but I cherish him

another great video, many times Jin's role as leader goes unnoticed because of the personality that Jin puts on camera and also that he doesn't like that role, but RM has said many times that without Jin he would not have done so well, both in handling the boys in a non-authoritarian way and with the company's affairs, over the years RM has told many anecdotes about that

I think this is the type of video that shows ppl how their dynamics work!

V is a genius of ideas and has such a unique personality that you can't read his mind or guess what he's thinking They called him a surprise member

You may disagree with me but I think Jin is also a leader. When things need to be said and RM needs a break, both Suga & Jin step up and handle the situation for the group.

@@maxpbeaumont Jin is in charge for resolving their problems with the agency. Also he is always responsible for shooting, making commercial videos or TV shows. Don't forget it was Jin who was buying food and even some tools for making videos in their early times.

9:03 V is definitely listening he goes quiet when he is he really loves listening to others peoples perspectives & he is a good listener. He is also a good actor which is why he is good at acting disinterested. 10:47 Yoongi isn’t as vocal like Joonie he’s quieter

Actually BTS didnt debut with the traditional kpop way at all, their debut music talked abt the social struggles students face, the immense pressure of the south korean education system. Their looks were different from usual kpop bands (also due to lack of moeny they wore cheap knockoffs) thats why they got tons of hate. Ppl mocked their name, looks and called them beggars and dirt spoons, they did revamp their style as they started getting succesfull. BTS music evolved a lot but its always inkeeping with their feelings at that age. For eg their debut albums were abt school, the problems there, their worries abt future, which turned into youth trilogies; more mature subjects like mental health, domestic abuse, drug addiction etc. Abt their debut and early stages they were always nervous and anxious and they were really desperate to somehow make it as their company was at the edge of bankruptcy, they barely had money to give capital for their promotions. Kpop mvs and promos go hard so its really hard to stan out with more than 100 grps debuting a year evn from bigger companies who had power over all broadcasts

The other day I was thinking who's, in my opinion, the "second leader" of BTS and I instantly thought of Suga, even though J-Hope also came to my mind. I think Suga is so wise, down-to-earth and articulate that he would be a great leader. I love your BTS reactions! Hope to see some more 😍

I personally don't feel Suga is the 2nd leader though. Music wise sure but not in general. Suga is too soft on the maknaes 😅 Hobi on the other hand can turn that side on and off instantly. Specially when he's in dance teacher mode. I also think Jin dictates the vibe of the group and kind of shares Namjoon's responsibility. We've heard the boys say how he's the 2nd pillar of BTS and how he often takes their concerns directly to their management as the eldest Hyung.

v has best insights on life.. he has very unique way of dealing and approaching things..maybe thats why every single comeback stage V is very different n has very diff style..oh i miss the times before covid where we used to get fancam of single members and Vs always goes viral and gathers most views not coz every one only wants to see him but coz for him every single moment on stage is not wasted..the details where cheffs kiss

Suga is the first performer to stand out in BTS with performance, personality and humor. RM showed leadership, Suga showed showmanship, and each member, and we the fans, have fallen and stayed under his influence. Suga is talented, knowledgeable and kind. He has done so much giving, that people don't know about, and he truly cares for each member.

Suga is personally my fav for some reasons ❤️

i feel like you still haven't quiteee got the grasp on taehyung yet which is kind of funny to me because i feel like he wears his heart on his sleeve. jungkook said even though he might not seem attentive he checks through everything from 1-10 and that he's very caring; and you can see it!! he always listens to the small things the members say even though it might not look like it. for example, hobi said he hadn't seen a flamingo before so taehyung went to the fair and played a game where you can win those plushies and he got a flamingo plushie for hobi, and he was so excited when he got it. another time is when jimin mentioned his trousers were loose, taehyung wasn't even looking he was actually about to walk away as they were leaving the diner but when they went shopping later taehyung bought some thread for jimin so he could fix his trousers and jimin was very appreciative. he does a lot of things like that. i feel like you haven't seen how uplifting and supportive he is of the members yet so i'd like to recommend a video similar to this one where they react to their own dvd "The wings tour in seoul dvd - commentary". taehyung loves the members sm and always praises them. i feel like this video shows a lot of that! thanks

@@edennede2215 right! like he's just a heart shaped human lol he's the literal embodiment of love. i can go on for ages about how sweet he is. watching these communication analyses in general feels kind of odd because it's kind of applying a universal set of behaviours onto people regardless of cultural differences and things like that but i was curious to see what he had to say. taehyung's personality is just so colourful and warm so i hope he gets to see more of that rather than perceiving his resting face as tuned out.

Taehyung ( V ) listens always too, he looks like that looks down but he is always serious if they gave Interview or schedule etc he is sometimes so hype, sometimes looks so serious , savage , but all side are from him He is unique

Their dynamic is really that of siblings, you get a goofy oldest brother that takes care of everyone. A strict second older brother that has very deep thoughts whom you don't want to cross. A spoiler third older brother that gives everyone attention and hugs. The middle child acts as the leader. the younger sensitive brother that listens to everyone but can be a brat. the one that seems not to pay attention and has his own world but is cute and adorable. and the youngest that has outgrown everyone but will forever be a baby to his brothers.

Tae is probably the most misinterpreted and misunderstood member of BTS. Honestly, Tae is the opposite of what he seems to be like. There is no way you can really read him unless you've watched all the Run episodes, In the Soop, interviews, Muster; basically all their content soo far (that list is endless) That might seem extreme but Tae is actually a very complex personality to really understand. I believe only those army who have been around with them for a long time or newer armys who have watched a lot of them through their content, will really be able to get Tae. He is unique and multifaceted. He once mentioned how he used to feel super misunderstood because he has that "resting bitch face" and he never tries too hard to show a different emotion than what he is feeling at that moment. So sometimes your observations of him are the EXACT OPPOSITE of the person we have seen. Taehyung is known to be a social butterfly in the kpop community and even BTS has acknowledged it. He makes friends with almost anyone effortlessly. When the members forget things, they ask V bc he remembers everything lol I have ADHD and I find I don't look at people much when I'm listening bc it helps me hear and understand them. Idk why that is 🤷🏻‍♀️ but I think V is maybe similar. He appears unengaged but is actually always listening attentively

BTS are the most genuine artists I have seen. They show and express real emotions and thoughts to their audience. We could observe how real their close relationship to each other are. It’s always fun and interesting to watch them. Whenever I feel down or stressed, BTS always makes me happy and calms me with their videos, music and content. BTS is the best! There’s nothing like BTS!

On their debut days they’re literally struggling in many aspects (condition of their company at that tome) in order to survive the competitions surrounding them. They faced too many threats but they got through all those and now they’re thriving. As an ARMY, I’m so grateful they have so many video recordings available online for new ARMY to know them earlier in those days. Thank you for this💜

BTS members have said Jin is their leader in life. Jin also is the one who openly speaks up about the toughest topics. The one the members trust to communicate with the company and stand up for them. For example they recently revealed a story about their First Bon Voyage (reality show where they travel in foreign countries). The staff wouldn't give them extra money and made them only eat one meal for the "reality" and Jin took the initiative too take it up with them and make them give them more food. You should see how all the members have talked about how much Jin changed their perspectives in life and happiness. He was different from the start. I hate seeing him labeled just as a fun light hearted person.

They had nothing They were poor They did not have much money Had goals They were strong And now they are the most successful band in the world ... just because these seven guys are worth living proudly for.

Would also like to point out that Tae wasn’t feeling the best around this time, covid and the restrictions really hit him hard, and so when watching early 2020 videos I think that’s something to keep in mind. He later opened up about how difficult this period was for him mentally and how he found nothing enjoyable anymore. It was how the song “blue and grey” came about. Just thought to let you know.

Nice video!! When you were saying about Yoongi and Namjoon anticipating people's reactions I thought that it would be really interesting if you watched something on Jimin alone, how geniune and casual but articulate he is when he's speaking and more than anything, how emotionally intelligent he is. It would be really cool!! He's a really interesting and charming guy and he talks a lot about his feelings.

In a way, they two are .... because when it comes to music, for instance, it's them (RM and SUGA) who contribute the most even start from the beginning

One thing that is bothering me in these comment section is how everyone is just erasing hoseok from the rapline while talking about musicality and I also saw a comment saying that rm and suga are more involved in the musical aspects of bts....hoseok is very shy and not upfront when it comes to accepting the praise for his music,even joon didn't know that hobi cowrote so many lyrics of whalien52(and tbh so many more songs),hoseok has over 110 komca credits and that doesn't even cover what he does in composing and how much he contributes to bts' choreography...no offence to anyone but it just irks me when supposed 'armys' do this

I agree. Suga speaks for the group on serious topics right after RM and is very diplomatic about it too. If there had to be a leader and there was no RM, it would totally be J-Hope though. Suga... was... going through a lot in the past and gets into his head. His evolution has been really interesting! We know a lot now but he hid a lot of his suffering so I'm glad he was able to relax into that and not be forced to lead. He seems very happy to not be the leader!

​@@maxpbeaumont - There are several compilation videos about RM and J-hope being the leader line, or about J-hope being the second leader in BTS. This pairing is usually called Namseok, so you can find videos with that keyword as well, and see which one catches your fancy. (I've seen the one entitled "Namseok, BTS’s calm but dysfunctional middle child", it's hilarious! but it doesn't talk about their leadership.) Namseok - a combination of their name, Kim Namjoon (RM) and Jung Hoseok (J-hope).

Namjoon and yoongi were the first two members of bts, and I consider them the backbone of the group in terms of wisdom and musicality.

@@citlaliangelica8756 I agree, RM and Suga are definitely the backbone of bts musically, lyrically, and I do think that they hold the most influence over the rudder of BTS’s “direction” and the shift in the groups style and tone over time I think is a testament to how much they’ve grown. I also do think that RM and Suga perhaps along with Jimin serve as the contemplative core of the group. So, yeah, I agree I think their songs Respect and Strange are… are just illustrative of the two of them

I have looked your videos and I think you dont get Jimin full. Suga told that Jimin is guy who understand him most, Suga greets jimin a lot and support. Jimin have lot off leader skills , he was class leader 9 year. So when namjoon is unsecure or dont know what to do, Jimin takes a lead. You can see that side off his in run episodes, he often tells and make sure that everyone know what to do. He is very goos listener and supporter, there was one question ones; who is the member who can support you and understand you most , when you have hard time. Everyones answer was Jimin . He is humble guy who dont want to get himself to the light in groupconversations too much. But he is helping and leading them withn others. In dance with J-Hope . They all have very important roles in group and loving is real. Bts is amazing.

I think of Yoongi as a silent leader. I don’t remember if JK was the one who said this, but I would put it this way myself too.. Namjoon leads from the front and Yoongi leads from the back.

Hi Max, i really truly enjoy your reactions, especially for BTS since they're my ult group. I feel like in these official videos some members might act a little different than for example in their livestreams that they do from time to time. There is an app called Vlive, and members like Taehyung/V or Jungkook can show off their personality a bit more in those smaller settings. It would be cool if you could check those out, they do unit livestreams on there too, with 2-3-4 members 🤭

Jin and J-Hope are the heart and soul of BTS' energy and humor. If you watch their English interviews, even if they don't speak English very much they are very expressive, ice breakers, they confidently speak their minds. I admire their communication skills a lot.

Its interesting that you call Namjoon and Yoongi the leaders from a wisdom standpoint - they are both prolific writers - writing for themselves, the group and other artists & they seem to have the most convictions about philosophies on life and society (which comes up in their personal writing). The three interviews are RM and Suga, V and Jimin, and the last one is Jin, J-hope, and Jungkook. Each unit composes and sings a song together in the "Map of the Soul: 7" album. The first two pairs are actually two of the most common pairings in BTS. V and Jimin were both born in 1995, so without the age barrier, they're very close friends and call each other soulmate. Their song, "Friends" is written by Jimin and is actually about their friendship. RM and Suga were the first two members recruited, so they've lived together the longest. They also both came from the underground rap scene and both received backlash from the community for becoming idols. They're both prolific songwriters and deep thinkers, the musical pillars of BTS. Jin, J-hope, and Jungkook are just hilarious in this interview.

Thanks max! Always fun watching you watch bts (watching themselves). Now we just need bts to react to this! Anyway, I think suga is more a strategizer than rm, maybe as a consequence of his younger days. Hes talked before about how he had to work hard to do music because his parents were so against it and sometimes people would cheat him. I think his nature is more to listen and analyze and think of peoples motivations but he's gotten better about not having to play that mental chess game all the time so is better at active listening. I think jin and somewhat jhope and the maknaes have helped rm and suga a lot to live more in the moment and not always have to be planning and strategizing. Thats what I've observed any way mixed in with your insights

Just watching BTS talking to each other is therapeutic, makes me happy all the time.

They do watch their old performances but it's usually them trying to remember old dances, to relearn them and stuff.

I think a good video that gives the boys the open atmosphere and fun games that show you their behaviors and humor

Hi Max, I thought I remembered you saying you were going to Costa Rica. I hope you enjoyed it and are doing well. I loved this reaction video and I have to be honest, I only watch the BTS reactions because I don't really know most of the other celebrities in your videos. The youngest 3 (V, Jimin and Jungkook) are usually quiet and observant during these types of videos. They are not quiet on a regular basis. J-Hope, the hyung they follow around like a mother duck, calls them cute, mischievous and heavy. Although, that last description is mostly for the youngest Jungkook, who at one point was known as a muscle pig. They have matured a lot over the years but are accustomed to letting the elders do most of the talking and just focus on trying to behave and contribute when they can. During important interviews and shows there is a speaking order they follow. 1 Namjoon 2 Suga 3 J-Hope 4 Jin 5 Maknae line BTS is like a family and in this family, the maknae are the babies. Of course they are encouraged to speak but they must be careful. So because of that I don't believe you can get an actual honest look into their actual personalities and group dynamic. For a look into who they really are you should start from the beginning before they were so censored and before they knew how to hide anything because they were just sweet honest boys working hard and playing hard too. They lived in front of the camera and couldn't help but to reveal themselves to us.

I honestly think that you have a strange impression of V. I just don’t think you hear/see him when he contributes because you are generally focused on the older members. I don’t mean that in a “solo stan,” “how dare you talk about” kind of way. I’m just puzzled after every reaction you do of BTS, because you always call V out as being quiet or not participating. In this, he spent a lot of time being engrossed and smiling, and spoke up more than just the one time at the end that you noticed. V is known to make friends very easily outside of BTS, because everyone loves him. In fact, he has a family-like relationship with a group of actors (all a few years older than him) that he starred in a K-drama with - the “Wooga Squad” - and they credit him with being the one to invite them to do things after the K-drama was over. He’s hilariously funny, and he truly loves the other members with his whole heart - and ARMY, too. He has this interesting mix of childlike innocence and “adultness.” He is very family-oriented, is amazing with children, and his father is his hero. I haven’t seen you notice any of the traits that make all of these things true, and I don’t think it’s because you’ve only watched a few things…it may just be you’ve not watched the right few things that gives you that view into V’s character and mind. You don’t say a whole lot about the other two youngest either, but you rarely find them “lacking.”

He can be difficult to hear in groups because he doesn't talk over others. I noticed him start and stop at least twice in this video because someone else began to talk over him. He tends to let them continue. With subtitles it can be difficult to catch but I know their voices and I like to watch V and JK in particular.

@@maxpbeaumont - V is known to be the social butterfly. He seems to be friends with half of the Korean entertainment industry. You'll find pictures of him hanging out with various actors and singers of all ages on his IG (or the IG of those actors and singers). When they were in the US for a reality show in their early years, he's seen making friends with strangers even with his broken English. You can find many videos discussing V (Taehyung) being a social butterfly.

Im also going back and forth watching both but i cant help and just seeing them now because I watched all of those videos right when they first came out so its like a memory to me as well.. it has me remembering which members popped out to me the most, its so crazy how much ive changed . When i look at the now video, im more focused on jimin, jk & suga but in the old video i cant help but see the ones i used to like more which are, Jin & Jhope on my first impression from the past. Its like my Bias switched to the Bias in my old memory the moment i looked at the video. TMI* LMAO

It's always kinda funny when they're reacting to themselves, Jimin seems to genuinely hate it. I suppose it's because he has changed a lot during these past years and he just doesn't seem to be really comfortable remembering his old performances. Also his very critical nature and strive to be perfect probably play a big role in that. Anyways, there are several clips of him rolling on the floor, ashamed when watching something like this which is just hilarious

I think tae was a bit off during on era and he was very quiet and distant but then dynamite era came along and he became his old self more talkative. I am not sure if something was happening but that’s his business I don’t want to pry. I am just glad he is happy again

He seems normal tbh, he just didn't intrigue Max till now.. even on Patreon where he watch lot of stuff where Tae was in his chaotic self he didn't notice cause his focus on the others and their reaction, it'll take time ig just hope he doesn't stick with his initial first impression cause he seems to be looking only for things that cement that impression and ignore the rest
