Before I saw BTS perform Outro: Tear, I thought I didn't like rap music. I didn't need to understand their language to understand that they were singing about pain. I felt it. J-hope's ending verse made me cry and I didn't even know why. Just a masterful song, masterfully written, produced, and performed. Thank you for your subtitles and for including RM's and SUGA's commentary. Knowing the context makes the song even more painfully beautiful.

Exactly my reaction and how I felt, including the part about J-Hope! It’s astonishing how BTS’s music resonates with us non-Korean speakers from the very first time one listens to it, but it’s thanks to people like Britta who painstakingly unpack BTS’s music and lyrics that helps us understand the depth of their brilliance.

This sure hits different after the Suchwita with Tae... the rap line wrote this for the maknae line, because they were hurting, afraid, and felt guilty that they were working so hard and they were hurting their younger brothers with their ambition. BTS were hanging on by a thread and they were all hurting in different ways. But they were able to come together, to sit and talk it out together, to express their love for each other. And that's how they made it to 10 years and beyond. We'll wait until 2025

After reading Beyond The Story, you really do get a whole new perspective on this song. To know that Suga was going through one of the most difficult times in his life when he wrote this and the turmoil the band was going through at the time and also knowing that he wrote it for the members not even knowing if it was even going to be released. It just makes the meaning behind it that much more powerful😢😢💜💜

I love this song and it is soooo much better live in person. You could feel the tension in their voices. It was powerful.

It’s so beautiful in it’s pain and honesty. All of these guys are so good (crunchy mouth sound like RM did😁) I get excited every time I hear this song or see these performances of the song- the energy and feeling are on high. One thing I love about this song is there’s la different texture and melody seemingly for every verse and each member’s voice is so commanding. One of my favorites 💜🫶🏻

Yeah, this is a Stage Mix - similar to the one for ‘Zero O’Clock’: the Editor takes 2 similar videos, & edits them seamlessly together: NamJoon (RM) is wearing the hat, just not in both sequences…from his comments at the end, this masterpiece must have felt like a dream come true! It’s now a BTS favourite for me, especially this edit where Hobi simply owns the stage… ‘Beyond the Story’ is very well worth reading (+ it’s on Audible) for the insight it gives into The 7’s collective state of mind during the time that this was written - ‘Tear’ is such a valid expression of pain that I can’t always believe what I’m hearing! 🙏🏻🔥🙏🏽
