No one can sing that perfect, let alone while they're jumping around and spinning across the floor. In their bangtantv episode about this event, they showed a rehearsal where Jimin was like “the camerawork seems really disorganized” and the boys were talking about how they didn’t know where to perform to because the camera was all over the place. And well... they were right. The camera work is absolute chaos and really doesn’t do the performance justice at all. But still proud of the boys!

I think they didn't know how to record it because singing/dancing acts aren't common like this in America. But that doesn't excuse that the director did a terrible job and showed the crowd way too much. They had more than one practice session with the guys so the director should have figured something better out. The director or whoever was in charge should have done a better job, it was their debut performance for crying out loud. Thankfully shows and other award shows seem to know how to film them.

Imagine other celebrities watching and listening to the chants thinking “holy shit what satanic ritual did we step into”

Where can I watch this?

It is surreal for me to watch this performance knowing I was in the room with BTS and ARMY on this night. I still remember the energy of the crowd. I still remember seeing the members walk into the theatre. I remember my parents standing next to me screaming those fanchants at the top of their lungs with me. The person who made it possible for us to be there, my mother, passed away last year. I watch this and think of her and how beautiful the night was. I still have a photo of me and both my parents from this night. I can't believe five years have come and gone. I can't believe how much has changed since then. But I am so happy and proud to be a fan of BTS. They are a once in a lifetime sort of group, and I'm so happy I was able to be part of a little piece of their journey. November 19th, 2017 was one of the most beautiful nights of my life, and I pray that I'll be able to meet these extraordinary men someday. And I cherish the memories their music helped create, especially those involving my mom. I miss her so much, but I know she's watching over me and she's watching over Seokjin, Namjoon, Yoongi, Hoseok, Jimin, Taehyung, and Jungkook too. She loved all of them just as I do. They'll always be special to me. God bless BTS always. 💜 💜 💜 💜 💜 💜 💜

was my thought exactly not only rapline. the voice line as well couldnt sing properly. I guess american award shows are not used to actual live singing so they messed up big time

If you look at Fancams Suga said Lets go Lets go near the end, its almost not audible here, proving AMAS put official audio over their ACTUAL singing to make it seem like their lip syncing. if you look at fan cams the audio IS SO SO MUCH BETTER. i swear amas did SOMETHING.

To anyone saying they are disappointed in the fanchants: PLEASE watch the fancams! They were so so loud! They were just muted on TV because otherwise you wouldn't have heard the song! this is actually because the recording comes straight from the mics. any cheering in the crowd is what’s being picked up by the mic feed, which actually means the fanchants were hella fuckin loud. don’t worry fam

@@peggyh3788 the parts it sounded like the back track was taking over is mic balance with overcuts referring to the limited sections of songs that are purposefully lip synced in order to keep up with some of the more extreme portions of the dance routine.

The part i love the most of this performance is the energy the fans bring to it. Army used to be such a very nice fandom back then, full of positive vibes and respect.

artist of the year group- pop/rock song- pop/rock I'm honestly so so proud of them. They deserve it so much!!!!!!!!
