Those translations aren't the greatest. There was even a half a line that wasn't translated at all. I was looking forward to my favorite lyric "Everyone says I'm beautiful... but the one who is beautiful is you." I'm so close to having all the lyrics memorized so I can sing it. It's such a beautiful song. I'm glad you finally got to hear it. It's definitely one of my favorites. Yeah, anything that says it's from Map of the Soul ON:E was the online concert in 2020. No live audience, just online. And yeah, they did two days, both online. That's why you will sometimes see two different outfits. They prepared so hard for it. They each had HUGE sets for each song. It's CRAZY! I'm so sad I wasn't Army yet when these concerts were happening. Jin is one of my favorite vocalists ever - all the sincerity and warmth of his personality come through in his voice. I believe Jin asked RM to write the lyrics and then made some changes to them. This particular lyric video has some unfortunate translation issues though. Jin's lyrics always reflect his insecurities, and that aspect is entirely missing because of 2 major errors: 1. "Everyone is beautiful..." Actual lyrics: "Everyone says I'm beautiful, but my seas are all black. Flowers are blooming, the sky is blue, but the truly beautiful one is you." 2. "Do you think you're watching me now? Wouldn't my pain hurt you?" Actual lyrics: "Suddenly I wonder if you're watching me now. I worry that you might discover my painful scars." The fear that he won't be loved if he reveals all of himself is a consistent theme in Jin's songs. Here, he alludes to it but intentionally lets the upbeat music be the dominant element rather than the lyrics. To me, this adds even more poignancy to the song. Thanks for the reaction!
