I'm not an ARMY but Jimin is growing in me. I've been seeing comments say he's stealing spotlight from the other members. I don't understand why his fandom underrates him tbh. I won't mind if people have different opinions on BTS rank in dancing. I just hope people won't mock those who say Jimin is the best or is at Hobi's level. Some of us--like myself--do know what we're talking about. As a jazz, ballet and street dancer myself, I can confidently say that he is definitely BTS' best and most versatile dancer. I think it's both because of the breadth and depth of his expression and presence, and his technique--the third, the main reason I'm pressed why people think he's inferior cause he's not. Dance is a mode of expression and Jimin mastered this art; it's not his sexiness, charisma or aura--as much as those take him to another level. Where, when and how you look/gaze is a skill; clarity of body line (shape) is a skill; facial expressions, choosing when, where and how to relax, release, tense, soften, accentuate is a skill. Balancing fluidity, sharpness and strength to communicate the right musical narrative (unless music is abstract) are both talents and skills Jimin excels in. Mastering these for different genres is extremely difficult but he's able to excel in it--giving him versatility. Jimin is great in contemporary but he's equally great in hiphop; in fact, he trained in hiphop way longer than contemporary. He makes small and large movements count--this is one of the reasons why he's able to stand out in both simple and complicated choreographies. Jimin's musicality (rubato, staccato) are topnotch. I totally understand why the Pin Up composer wants him to cover another of his composition. J-hope is also really great; I think his training in underground hiphop developed his style on and into certain sub-genres of hiphop like the more novel boogaloo (he aces that). His timing, consistency and explosiveness are on point. Jimin's and J-hope's Ievel of skill can only be achieved with repetition--hardwork, hardwork, hardwork. Now, I don't know how these two were when they started in BTS and that may be a reason why many ARMY's have strong biases on who the best dancer is. But we have to be fair and evaluate the present and actually look at the routines. Lastly, people who fought with me using positions as argument. I DID CHECK. Jimin is a main dancer. Watch AHL ep 3 where the members said it. Someone also said the dance line had a debut special stage in a show where Jimin was introduced as the main dancer. I'm not saying J-hope isn't cause I don't know. But, yes, Jimin is---so let's not use their positions to claim one is better.

This is also what's confusing me. I can't call myself an army since I don't really help trend hashtags and/or vote for awards, but I am amazed by Jimin's dancing skills. (Before people can accuse me of being a solo stan, because that's what fans of specific members are apparently called, I repeat, I am not a fan of BTS as a whole. You might as well categorize me as a regular spectator.) I get updated of their performances simply because I danced before (stopped when I started focusing on my job) and I find KPop interesting, in general. Dancers, in particular, get my attention, hence my interest in Jimin. There are better dancers, yes, but in specific genres. Jimin's versatility, however, gives him an edge over others. I, personally, have a hard time transitioning from contemporary to hiphop (since I'm supposedly 'too graceful' for hiphop). Seeing Jimin being able to integrate contemporary to hiphop and vice versa so well is just daebak. People may say it's not that hard; it really isn't. Most can do the transition. I can do it, but to do it so well making it seem like the two aren't seemingly opposite genres is a huge feat. I understand whenever he's dancing (to hiphop) and people say he has to 'hit the movements harder' or whenever he's dancing (to contemporary) and people say he's doing it too rushed because there are instances wherein it's true. But I've seen him hit it harder than other dancers sometimes and do it more gracefully as well. It boils down to control. How is he able to do consecutive performances then with him not appearing as if dying from exhaustion if not for him choosing how to execute movements? Great example is the bangtan bomb of him dancing to Lie - when he paused for a while to rest, but continued seconds after with same energy. Seeing people on twitter being restricted to praising his charms and not his skills is just saddening. He's spectacular.

Its because Jimin did dancing before bts. And so did Jhope but the difference his is their style. Theirs actually a video of them dancing to troye sivan and thats the perfect example to show their differences in style even though they are amazing at dancing because Jhope was an underground dancer for hip hop and Jimin was the top at Busan in his school for contemporary dance. Both of their dancing skills are phenomenal. Also i recommend looking into the other members too and not just jimim lol. Jimin is my bias for the group but the other members have amazing skills such as Jungkook with his singing and Suga with his rapping and such lol. But if you already did look into them then nvm, otherwise you really should. They arent like other regular groups because as a whole it makes them better as a kpop group especially all their talents together and their friendship, their performance on stage doesnt effect them because they have such a strong relationship with one another unlike some other groups.

@@ahhhhcheeww not really a difference in style, jimin did hiphop, pop and lock for years since middle school, he only did contemporary for 2 yrs but the discipline he learned there was deeply ingrained in his body before joining BH so he had to re-train himself for hiphop dance which he was able to and been dancing to for years even before that troye sivan video. With Hobi's talent he can also dance contemporary, both of them are capable of dancing different genres technique wise, Jimin's slight upper hand is his musicality, he just have that innate talent to properly and more effectively interpret the song thru dancing. That's what the dance teacher in AHL saw, Jimin didnt made some fancy, big, exaggerated moves, he moved to be in harmony with the music, he doesn't just conform to 1,2,3 step, he moves by being one with the music.

Jimin, my bias! He has this inexplicable charisma onstage that just draws you in. He can be so hot and sexy, or angelic and cute. Quite rare. I love his dance; he dances most precisely--can be fluid or snap poppy--and full of emotion. Jhope seems best in hiphop still but I like Jimin's control, precision, musicality and grace in dancing. Plus, is he now the best vocalist along with V? He was behind V and at par w/ if not behind Kookie last yr but he's improved so much in the Wings album!!!!! I listened to the full album and he now excels as he's improved his stability and control...smooth and agile even in extremely high pitch and can be sexy and breathy or crystal clear. Do we even need to talk about his personality? He's the glue from behind. The members say he's the kindest and most caring member. Seemingly outgoing and always reaching out and considerate, Jimin is what every group or clique needs. HANDS DOWN, PARK JIMIN! :))
