I always thought this song was about his self-esteem issues and him begging for help because of his strict “diet” and exercise routine and how he can’t escape it.. and serendipity was him going through his healing phase. trying to do what was best for him and what not (sorry for the grammar issues im ruining off of 2 hours of sleep)

this is honestly one of the best Kpop songs ever in my opinion. the soaring melody and major/minor parallel modulation on "caught in a lie" is so intense and emotional, and makes the song truly stand out even among many other great ones. Jimin gave an amazing and heartfelt performance. The fact that he helped write it as well adds a whole other level of authenticity and makes me admire him more. It frustrates me that this song isn't more well known.

For those who don't know, this song is composed brilliantly because all the parts of the song before the line "caught in a lie" is in minor and it only moves to major when the part "caught in a lie" comes and that foreshadows the whole meaning of the song because it doesn't feel genuine when it moves to major like when someone lies. So when he sings "caught in a lie" in major ,he is implying about the lies he tells himself and pretending to be happy( like major chords is used mostly for happy feelings)and he is also lying about the key signature. I didn't crack the meaning of the song , I saw a video about this song.

When I first heard this song I loved the beat, and Jimin sang it great like always, but this was the era where Jimin was the most depressed and where he only ate 1 meal every 10 days, I'm just glad hes better now! But after reading these lyrics it really worries me what was going with him back then, the song is practically telling us that he was convinced into this lie and it got bigger and ate him up alive and he tries to get out but falls in and repeats again, he obviously wants to get out but can't he wants help, but he can only help himself. Very good lyrics..but very concerning.

I'm honestly not sure how much this song personally connects to jimin but the Wings era (as you may know) is based on a book (demian by hermann hesse [amazing book!!!!]) But most songs in wings deeply connect to this book and this is the song for the beginning (page 15-20) SPOILER WARNING (I GUESS) Where emil tells that he stole apples (which he didn't) so he won't be noticed and many stuff happened after ('Franz' was about to tell that the owner of the apples) and he was literally caught in a lie
