'They didn't work this hard to stay the same' PREACH. They have done so many different concepts since dope and they have slayed them all. For everyone who didn't like a certain concept, there were 10 more who liked the concept. Them experimenting with so many concepts is what has made them great artists, they show their versatility with each and every album. It's okay to miss old BTS, but it's not okay to bash new BTS, accept the change, accept the growth and just walk with them. The essence of who they are underneath all the 'concepts' is still the same, they are still the same passionate, loving, justice-seeking, brave and boundary breaking artists that they were in the beginning. 💜 💜 💜

^^ This! You said this so well. Yes their sound has changed and evolved but that's how growing up works. They write about what they are experiencing in their lives and what is going on in the world at the time. Nothing about their life is the same as it used to be, so why would their music? The fact that 'dope' even exists is because they changed their sound. We wouldn't have got the HYYH, Wings, LY eras. Songs like B,S&T, Fake Love, Black Swan & many more if they didn't change. Their art is still art, and their music is still great music it's just different. But saying that, the core of BTS has never changed. They still write from the heart, they still speak about issues that they feel are important to talk about. That's the Bangtan we love. That's the Bangtan we stand by.

BTS actually just did an article with Rolling Stone and in it J-hope said: “We can’t forever dwell in that static state. As time flows, things change and trends change, as did our tendencies in music.” So while I understand when ppl say “I miss the old BTS” i really wish they would stop bc those songs and videos are still available and you saying that isnt going to stop their artistic evolution. Either love the group in their entirety or just bop to their older tracks and keep it pushing 😂😂

BTS’ perceived cockiness in DOPE is actually one of solidarity with the youth. DOPE actually has a very deep socio-political reference and can be seen as a diss directed towards the media and boomers. RM and Suga’s verses in the middle of the song encompasses this. This song brings up that the playing field and economy is unfair for younger generation, but that grown-ups and media blame the younger generation for being lazy and lacking willpower and writes them off. (Notice they’re dressed up as different types of jobs/careers) But BTS is saying they don’t agree with the media and older generation and BTS is telling the youth not to listen to what the media tells them. BTS is telling the youth that they believe in the value of who they are and who they want to become and their efforts are worth something.

HOW could anyone in kpop NOT have seen this???🤣🤣🤣 As they say when something goes wrong with someone's computer...its always human error. But it takes a man or woman to admit their mistake. DD AA BBB...you're all the man!😁

If they did the same type of song now in 2021, people would have called them lazy for doing the same thing. For example, blackpink got backlash from people being disappointed to hear the same sound over and over from them

I love this song and MV and i actually cosplayed as Jimin from this MV for a local comic con where i live and i even sung a little of the song and danced the actual dance. I even have photos of my cosplay. I had fun cosplaying jimin as people asked who i was so i got to teach them a little about BTS at the same time

You know, they're WELL into their 20s most pushing 30.. I love them all more than life.. But they push their bodies to the limits and have for years. As much as I LOVED older bts.... we will always be able to listen to all the old stuff. I think they're just growing up a bit.. maturing. I do miss the old stuff too tho...lol I learned hangul back in 2014 so I could sing with them... and now they sing in English lol. I like the funky stuff. I could do with less ballads maybe But I'm glad they're treating their bodies better. At this point honestly... for me... they could sing the phone book and I'd buy it. (A phone book is an old way of googling phone numbers) 😉

This is technically the first BTS mv I've ever seen (and I first saw it around the time it was released), but I watched it back when I had no idea who they were and my cousin was trying to get me into kpop by showing me a lot of groups' mvs. Skip forward over a year later and imagine my surprise when I finally found out about (and became a fan of) BTS on my own and rediscovered this mv as being one of theirs. 😅

This was my first BTS video!! Oh my I remember it so well... I was like who the hell are these guys?! That was about 4-5 years ago, fell in that BTS rabbit hole and haven't had the need to escape. Lol loved your reactions 🤣thank you for a great moment.

DOPE was the first MV I ever watched from BTS, and my life was never the same again.

You guys haven't even touched the surface of their contents yet. They've gotten many, many more. Watch MMA 2021 Dynamite performance. They input some of MJ's choreo in their dance break.

It is called "SWITCH IT UP" and features Sokodomo, a South Korean rapper. Really good song & video. Mark Tuan (also from GOT7) also released his 1st song since his move back to LA. It is called "ONE IN A MILLON" and is done with Sanjoy, a Bangladeshi-American musician and EDM music producer. Really new sound for Mark.

I am surprised you haven't checked out B.I (IKON) singles yet... He has released 2 in this week alone, He is finally back after 2 years. I know you all never got too deep into IKON so as a short backstory you must know that B.I was known for being a prodigy, genius writer and composer (composed all of IKON songs you've heard so far, I remember you guys reviewed Ikon's New Kids Repackage Album -- it was all him) and as a rapper is known for his lyrical rapping- a lot more focus is on the lyrics than anything else. A very useless scandal in 2019 caused him to go MIA since 2019 and he is finally back after all that with a bang, as a newly appointed Executive Director of IOK Company and the CEO of a Music Label he founded under it called 131 Label and finally releasing his songs after 2 years. This is full on anime protagonist story going on in K-pop world right now, you must check him out. Full album will be out on 1st June. He released a global single a week ago as a collab with Destiny Rogers and Tyla Yaweh titled Got it Like That. And just now he has released a performance video of a new single Waterfall titled 'Waterfall Live Video' and has english captions which need to be on.
