Halsey has stated herself that she was put in where she was needed for the vibe of the video, the storyline of it and that you can hear her on the audio version more. She even sings in Korean. She's heard in the video as well just not seen. It would make more sense if you watch the explanation video by DKDKTV... love your videos btw.

Halsey is much more audible in the digital version. PS. Please watch *"Boy With Luv EXPLAINED"* *In the lyrics "I want to level up my eyes with you"* The song is confirmed to be about relationship between bts and armys. There are several references to *"Singing in the rain" movie* , as they wanted to convey that armys are "the man behind the curtain", *the Icarus myth reference* is one of many verses they say they got the wings from fans, went to the sky but didn't forget who brought them there and won't be too prideful to stay in there, where the wings will get burned by the sun, they'd rather step down to armys level and enjoy the time with them. *Halsey is guessed to just represent us*

There’s two versions of this song. The audio has more Halsey. Due to Halsey’s scheduling she could only be in the mv towards the end. I enjoyed this reaction 😊 Edit: I take it back 😂 the new mv Boy with Luv Army version has more Halsey 😆💕

I absolutely LOVE this song. The reason why Halsey didn't have a solo part is bc when BTS performs it live, if she isn't able to perform with them, they would have to somewhat redo the song for live performances. (I hope that made sense.) But yes, the album version you hear her a lot more and she sings some Korean, which is awesome!💜💜

Halsey’s heard way more on the spotify version

Halsey isn’t in the MV version as much as the radio version because they will be preforming it live so much without her that they needed a version with a little less Halsey :) but on her Twitter she said she wrote and sang the whole chorus, she even harmonized in Korean, so she contributed quite a lot to the song, I think her voice blended very well with it! :) you should react to live version of Dionysus - BTS, it’s a killer song!

It’s definitely not my fav bts song but I think it’s a great summer, radio bop. You can’t listen and not feel good. On the official audio there’s more Halsey! And they’re performing together on the billboard awards May 1. I think it’s awesome she sang in Korean and learned the choreo. Can’t wait to see them onstage together.

I think everyone has already explained why she's not featured more in the MV. One correction, BTS met her backstage at the 2017 BBMAs. She was already a fan of theirs. Then she went to Seoul and dropped by for a visit and that's when they started talking collaboration. They called her because they thought her voice was right for BWL. And she's perfect in it. But, yes, this is not as intense as some of their other work. RM, himself, said that they were taking a step back with this album and you can hear it in J-Hope's verse, where he says things like 'world peace' and Jk answers 'No Way.' They were under so much pressure and they decided to return to their roots. So, from Boy in Luv to Boy with Luv. A more introspective stance looking back at where they came from. (This album is all about ARMY.)

I think it was a good direction for the boys, because they wanted to keep it laid-back. At this point, they have done all sorts of concepts and BWL is just a relaxed, fun and addictive song. bUT Dionysus for example is a nod to their roots as well ( hip hop concept mixed with other genres = 👍)

The only reactions that get blocked are for their comeback trailers or intros. Idk why but it's been like that for a few comebacks. That actual title tracks should be fine. Also check out their Dionysus stage. It's amazing and the album while you're at it. The album except for the intro and the last song (Dionysus) is dedicated to the fans.

This is a song for army accordingly to RM, and Halsey is a representation of army, they make it this simple... they are performing outside of the theater rather than the inside to have fun with army...the other song Dionysus is the banger... please watch the live version on mnet BTS comeback special... that's the best version

Thank you, Ambitious Ace! Every song and M/V DOESN'T have to be a blockbuster. BTS always switches it up, that's how you keep a long career from getting stale and just dying out. This song and video are cool and breezy, an easy one to listen to on the regular. Variety is the spice of life. If someone wants more of a banger they can check out the Dionysus stage 😉.

Boy with Luv is for the Armys as said by BTS themselves and it’s called Poem for small things in Korean(like small things in life)and Halsey ft in the song was a friendly collab as they are really good friends in real. she made the effort to flew to South Korea and dance in the mv..her voice suits well with the boys too and they will perform this song at the Billboard music award in few days

Halsey vocals are blended with the other members throughout the whole song. There is more harmonization with bts to show they’re close bond then solo vocals. Bts are very close friends with her so bts basically treated her like she is one of the members. If you notice the full song off the album she has as many lines as the vocal line with addiction to her harmonies with the vocal line.

For those who are just getting into BTS or who only casually check out BTS, there is something that you may not understand about this MV and song, and even the album overall. This MV and song is fully dedicated to Army, their loving fans that have made them who they are today. In fact, most of the songs on the album is a tribute to Army, which to the genius of BTS, some of those songs can also be interpreted as simple love songs. For example, in this MV, the song isn't about a boy that fell in love (although it can be interpreted that way), it is about BTS telling Army that we gave them love, and now they are filled with our love. Example in the lyrics: "Your making me a Boy with Luv" (Army filling them with love), "You got me high so fast" (Army is the reason they're becoming successful so quickly), "Flying high in the sky with the two wings you gave me back then" (A throwback to their Wings album, but in this context saying Army lifted them up to their success), etc. The choreography was designed to be simple so Army could dance along with them and invite us to join them in their celebration of BTS and Army together The neon light signs in RM's scene is all of their previous albums all the way back to their first album. That's only some of their signs of appreciation. In most of the songs in the album, the lyrics have many easter eggs and throwbacks. So I can understand why people who aren't Army or are casual BTS listeners think the song and album is just okay. This album was purely meant for the Army's out there, which is why we're all going crazy over it.

They met and befriended Halsey at 2017 BBMAs said by RM during interview and finally collabed with her for their comeback “Boy With Luv” and they will perform the song with her on BBMAs May 1st at 8pm EST. It’s also connection to their 2014 “Boy in Luv” storyline. Halsey’s bias is RM and they even do their cute handshake while sitting on the couch in the MV. She’s the first female international artist to literally be singing and dancing in person along with BTS for the first time in MV and on stage at BBMAs. One can only pray hard that Billboard focuses more on the stage and their performance less on the audience. BTS was recently on SNL recently for their comeback debut for the first time, if you haven’t seen it yet you can check Saturday Night Live youtube channel for both performances “Boy With Luv” and “Mic Drop”, also their Dionysus & Boy With Luv live performances!

theres an older bts song called Boy In Luv, its like young/school love. now this song is called Boy With Luv, its mature love. this song's korean title is 'A Poem of Little Things', its about bts being curious about army, and finding love/happiness in little things. Boy With Luv and this whole album Map Of The Soul: Persona, was made for the fandom. the songs/lyrics are the things they wanna say to ARMY, excluding the first song Persona and i think the last song Dionysus too. if u understand what the album title 'map of the soul: persona' means, then u will understand a lot of things.

BTS Singularity

For people who already listen the album and don't know how BTS work ie don't understand the meaning of this song boy with luv a shortly explanation from RM. "The person who wasn't able to receive a welcome in 'Make It Right' returns 'HOME These are just my thoughts. It's how I feel. Tracks number 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 were not arranged in their places for no reason, each have their own meaning. The person begins their worries and thoughts in Persona, and then they realize: "I must focus on the small things, and talk about the trivial things, about love"(Boy with luv). And when they start talking about the trivial things and love, they realize: "Ah, we are truly one small 'mikrokosmos, a small universe, resulting and created from all these small things coming together. However, though we are this small universe, in this small universe in which we were not able to be welcomed in, they realize: "In the end, my home is not my home, but my home is where the small universe that is 'you' exists". And then, they return there. I believe this is the kind of story behind the album." Namjoon.

This is one of BTS’s best songs. It’s so catchy. So DOPE. 🔥🔥🔥💯

When there are 8 ppl its hard to give everyone a verse or s moment. Honestly, it was a good balance because this was a BTS comeback. I didnt want too much of anyone else. Besides shes clearly heard throughout the song. She just blends a bit and for those who dont know the boys voices they dont hear her as well.

There are 2 versions of this video this version is for performances w/ out Halsey because they performed this on snl a couple of days after the video released or (the same day idk I forgot) but the version that goes along w/ Halsey on the album was released today on the VLive app & she is in that video more

The music video version of this song is made for when BTS is performing this song (like Korean music shows) without Halsey having to be there every single time (or to find a female replacement). Obviously most times they won’t have the same schedule. Plus it’s the title track so this song will be performed often throughout the rest of this year. As far as I know, Halsey herself didn’t have complaints and was fine with where they needed her. After all is said and done, this is a BTS song. If people want Halsey more, she does have her music out there too 😁

They just dropped an mv with the album version...called army with love version...Rarely is their title track my fave track on the album and same with this album. Jamais Vu is my fave and Intro Persona are my Dave's right now. However, I love all the tracks. Love the Halsey collab. Halsey and BTS met at the BBMA's in 2017....and they have been friends ever since...they guys have said she has made many trips to Korea to hang with them....she did help them right this song....and yes the album version is slightly and I do mean slightly different....but if u re listen to it....Halsey is actually the main singer u hear in every chorus...its not Jimin...a lot of ppl think they hear Jimin, but its Halsey....their voices are very similar in the octaves....and weather or not this is their best song....it really depends on ur taste in music...some say it is and some say its not.....not every song that every artists writes is going to be perfect for every one.....the one thing everyone has to remember is that is whole album is to ARMY...and the guys saying thank you and that they appreciate the support from all of us....there are other songs, like Persona, Dionysus....to Make it Right (co written by Ed Sheeran)...and Mikrocosmos...different tastes.....

I think this title track was much more chill than other previous ones like IDOL or Fake Love but I think its equally as good. this song is more accessible to general audience. their intention is to be radio friendly. and i think they achieved their goal. If halsey had her own verse, bts wouldnt be able to perform this song at concerts and korean awards shows. her voice is much more present in the album version. the MV version understandably features her in a little part. i know fans are sad halsey's part wasnt longer but if she was a big part of the video, then it would be spotlighting her and people would say that bts is only breaking records bc of halsey. and then fans would've complain she had too big a part in the song. so you cant please everyone in this situation.

Well make sure to tune into the BBMA’s when they perform this with her. Also she sang her parts in Korean. Just always remember, they have to perform there songs without Halsey so they had to set it up so they could.

People need to realize that Halsey isnt going to be singing this song live with them all the time so having her in towards the end makes sense and gives her credit as well. Yeah the actual album version has her voice more. If Halsey didn't mind then I don't see why people do.

The more I listen to the MV - and I've listened a lot - the more I can hear Halsey all over the track. She's very subtly in most of the backing - even the Korean parts. I haven't heard the album version to compare, but I've come to consider the MV very balanced in terms of her contribution. I think a lot of people are mistaking all her backup for Jimin and Jungkook's falsettos. Anyone else agree? 💜

I believe the only CGI was when they were on the couch actually. From watching the behind the scenes of the shooting of the MV it appears that is the only time. I could be wrong but that is my observation. I love the song and the video was meant to be cute for ARMY and not so over the top and grand to appeal to OP. Again, my opinion as well. They just dropped a new version so you all should definitely react to it as it has more Halsey in it :)

The mv is just for BTS promotions. Cause they will be performing the song live alot in Korea and on tour without her so that's why the mv has her presence more than her voice.

An alternative M/V of this song, dropped earlier today; And it appears to be the album version of the song. In my opinion, it's better than the original M/V.

this song is definitely one for the western audience and this is a different sound for them aswell. I thought this Collab was really good and at first I was confused as to why Halsey got a short amount of lines in the video but Its because Halsey cant be with them whenever they promote this song for their live stages in Korea so really this video, business wise ,was a good strategy because the song isn’t depending on Halsey, but if you listen to the audio version (which is aimed towards the American audience) you hear WAYYY more Halsey. I actually really like the song and the dance moves are super catchy, and the song has an addictive hook as well so I automatically knew it would chart high even though I loved the video I prefer the audio version with Halsey because her voice really fits well with the songs + BTS.

Actually the reason the video and audio version is different is she wont be there for their permotions in korea and their concerts and things so this is the version they will perform where her part is minimal where they can run a backtrack with it or jimin and jungkook can sing it since it within their vocal range and while the video may seem simpilistic its supposed to because the song is actually about us(army) them dancing with us them being with us by bringing themselves down off the stage and protecting us watch the explanation video by dkdtv lol he explains it better

The story was a litte backwards. Halsey was the one who went up to BTS in the BBMAs in 2017 saying she watches their MV and are a big fan. They kept in contact the past few years. So when this track came up they thought she would be a good fit. The reason why the MV and audio is different is possibly due to performance wise. If Halsey played a huge part like a verse that yall suggested, then at each and every award or music show (a lot) BTS goes to without Halsey there will be a big gap to cover. But look forward to the BBMAs on May 1. They're performing live together for the first time so maybe there are some tweaks to it.
