Unpopular opinion: Forget the Grammys, we can't force them to vote for black artists or international artists. It's their thing, their rules, let them be. The world has spoken, ARMYs spend their hard earn coins and time to keep BTS breaking record after record because they truly appreciate their music. I don't get the fuss about this award show but BTS really want to win it and unfortunately the general public has no vote otherwise they would have won it several times over. Also, while BTS are deserving, other artists can be too.

I didn’t really expect bts to win this year. Sort of expected Grammy to use them for views again. I mean they even moved the pop/duo group category in the main event so bts probably also thought they were gonna get something. Doja deserved that Grammy, she’s an amazing artist, the song was vitral on TikTok, so I can’t deny that the song is catchy. I was just genuinely rooting for bts or doja to win. But I just hate the scammys for using bts again to gain views. One of the reasons why I watched the Grammys in twitch and twt streams from fan accounts, I don’t wanna give them views HAHAHAHAH

I agree but a lot of black artists have won Grammys, it was a black artist that beat BTS. H.E.R won last year. Let's be real, it's not about BTS being "international" artist because a German or Brazilian etc artist could win easily, it's because they are ASIAN artist that sing in their native language and spread their own culture

People are just sad Grammy making the same mistakes when opportunity comes. There are time and limits of such precious moments. We all age and pass by as time goes especially in music fields. There is timing when such meaningful figures arise. And not recognizing in this day and age where you can see and feel in real time, for many people it’s unbelievable as this is not just US, but a global phenomenon with their countless impacts and engagements for years. Not recognizing Queen and 2Pac at the time, is just sad for all people. Knowing such stars that changed the world didn’t deserve and feel the things they should’ve been in their peak of their careers. It’s award like Grammy to recognize early of those albums, meaning in the society, and fame… Making easy ways and introducing such meaningfulness and talents in the society, rather than fighting with it. Wishing such stars to deserve the respect in their currents. Representing that era and we in all sectors showing such recognition. It’s like as if seeing Grammy not giving awards to Michael Jackson and The Beatles at the right time. As a number one sized market in the music industry with an award show that is considered honorable within the country, such award statement is a duty and a meaning for their own people. Doesn’t matter if it’s not given to BTS, the world already knows. Just a big bummer to see and people trying to help Grammy and make history straighten up better.

Doja Cat had a super catchy song, no question. But the award literally has "performance" in the title. Butter's not BTS's best song ever, but it's still damn good. And if we're being honest, nobody in the entire world comes close to BTS in performing. They're just on a different level. They deserved that award hands down.

the problem is i don't believe the choreography is counted, the main reason doja and sza won is their amazing vocal chemistry that appealed to the voters which are just as good as bts

I only watched the boys performance and after that I turned off my TV. Grammys are BS. Grammys are really racist when it comes to Asian boy group. So let's not watch Grammy anymore. Nobody mentions the graphics in the background, as they arrive on the main stage the framed artwork begins to disappear (they have stolen it) at the 3/4 point of the performance all the framed art is gone and graffiti is being drawn across the walls as a "we've been here statement". Excellent. Jin was the member in the large control room at the beginning, he had recently had surgery on his finger 2 weeks before and couldn't do the complex dance moves, he joined in at the last. Also the card being thrown at the beginning was legit, V and Jungkook practiced that for a month of practice sessions. Jungkook had been released from CV quarantine 1 day before the Grammy's and the entire team only had 1 day together to practice on the Grammy's stage. J-hope had arrived in Vegas about 2 days before the Grammy's from Korea as he was also released from his CV quarantine on April 1. They did an outstanding job, true professionals in the light of adversity.

That was Olivia Rodrigo sitting with V in the opening skit. Olivia Rodrigo Won Best Pop Solo Performance at 2022 Grammys for “Drivers License”. She was nominated for seven Grammys this year. Pretty sure she knows exactly who BTS is especially because of the riff between her fans and ARMYs.

The public has never had a say in who wins the Recording Academy's Grammy Awards. Grammy voters (music creators such as singers, songwriters, musicians, producers, mixers, recording/mastering engineers, conductors, arrangers, etc) only evaluate the recorded music (hence the name Recording Academy) submitted for Grammy consideration. They don't review live performances or take into consideration sales, chart positions, or popularity. BTS' main claim to fame is dancing while singing during live performances (where they use backing tracks to help vocally). If you take that away they are nothing special. On recordings they sound like a handful of other boy bands. The American Music Awards or the Billboard Music Awards are determined by the public. If you want BTS to win so badly watch those shows.

You are absolutely allowed your opinion. But, you certainly don't know enough about BTS to judge their talent. Not sure if I mentioned it here or not, but at age 61 I certainly understand how the Grammys work and I know enough about BTS to know they got fucked over. They need them for the ratings. Let's see how those ratings are next year when ARMY boycotts the Grammys.

I just gotta say I've just watched the Grammy performance of Butter and omg I loved the concept of them being being art (heart) thieves. the dance break was just wowzer and amazing and jin did so well joining in on the last chorus eventho every tiny movement hurts his hand. Also this performance to me must be my fav performance of Butter and I sure hope that their next comeback has a spy/art thieve type concept and this performance had me speechless and just amazed. Also every member was amazing and totally wrecked me.

It was Jk that collapsed in "Burn the Stage" he had pushed himself to the max when his body said enough was enough. I'm just glad that it wasn't anything more permanent and he recovered quickly. He was just determined to give all he had to make sure ARMY enjoyed the show, knowing that they weren't going to be back in the area for a long time. At least that is what he said. The amount of work and care they pour into their craft is astonishing and only makes me respect them more. Thanks for a fun review 😊 💜🤗🇺🇲💜

Here's reality, the grammy voters are not as knowledgable about the categories they are voting. BTS is the only group in its category, that should be in that category. Everyone else in the category were collabs, not pop duo or group.

There are so many performers. Ten in each category. It is an American awards show after all, and there are tons of American musicians, singers and performers who deserve recognition in their own country. I don't think the ceremony is total BS because BTS didn't win. Being nominated is an honor, especially in a country that is not your own. I speak French, lived in Africa 12 years, and teach international students so I'm all about appreciating other cultures. Im just saying it is a domestic awards ceremony. Maybe they could make an international category like they have at the Oscars for film. Start a petition!

I believe that BTS is getting closer, especially after their recent performance. But once again, they have great competition in the US so it depends on how they stack up! There are no criteria set to go by. Have you noticed that no hiphop album has won for album of the year, no matter how good it did? Yet, what they will do is create subcategories instead of nominating them for the main awards. Beyonce, she ruled for a while, how many main categories did she win? Grammys = institutionalized racism.

Bts has better songs , Its just that people have ruined the whole vibe by using it way too much in popular videos. People keep hearing one or two songs from them. Butter is a whole vibe but Doja totally deserved that award. I dont even know why BTS is after a grammy when they have won more than 234+ awards and broken so many world records. They dont need a grammy

They need to make a separate category for collabs because collabs stay winning the group/duo category 🙄

Actually there is a simpler way to fix your concerns about the category (Best Pop Duo/Group Performance). Combine Best Pop Solo Performance and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and name it Best Pop Performance instead of creating a new category. For example, there is only one category for Rock (Best Rock Performance) and R&B (Best R&B Performance) so The Recording Academy should implement that change for next year. That way there will be no issue about defining the category since it will be all inclusive. Problem solved.

BTS is not KPOP - PLEASE STOP REFERRING THEM AS SUCH. THEY ARE JUST MUSIC AERISTS THATS IT

1) Grammys are prejudiced against pop. 2) the American music industry can't stand it that they had nothing to do with BTS becoming a worldwide phenomenon. 3)How do you have the biggest songs in the world 2 years running, win every award in every country and not win a Grammy or at least be nominated for song of the year 4) We all know that Map of the Soul 7 is a masterpiece. I believe BTS has been at the Grammys, Scammys, Scummys four times? I don't know how to pronounce his name properly, but they were invited by the artist but did Old Town Rd. To perform with him 2018 or 19. i do believe in 2020 BTS was invited to present at the Grammys. they did not get to perform and were not nominated. 2021 there were nominated. best pop duo or group performance! they were the only dual or group nominated in the category! all other nominations were collaborations of two or more solo artists. the winners in the category of best pop duo or group performance, Lady Gaga Ariana Grande. And of course, this year the winners in the same category were not a dual or group they were two solo artist who collaborated on a song. Kiss Me More by Doja Cat featuring SZA one for the best pop dualor group performance. Doja Cat is not a dual or group, she is a solo artist! Featuring SZA don't know who this is or they are but there was only two of them on stage receiving the award.

I have had a thought after the Grammys this year. BTS and HYBE labels corporation. Next year should schedule a live event from a venue in Las Vegas, because that seems to be where the Grammys are held now. Featuring a lot of a lot of artists find to the eight companies that HYBE labels owns. This would include 6 labels in career one label in Japan and one label in the United states. I think making it a global live streamed event from Vegas for something like endangered species global warming ah the homeless a social economic injustice. Bringing artists from Korea and Japan 2 Las Vegas and some live streamed performances from Asia. And of course all artists signed to the label in the United states owned by HYBE labels corporation would be in attendance at the HYBE labels musical event. Not attending the Grammys even if nominated or asked to perform. Just a couple artists that I could think of but would not appear at the Grammys next year would be Justin Bieber Ariana Grande the Weekend there was an artist identified as Lady A that may be the country group Lady Antebellum I'm not sure though. Also the young lady that was included in BTS is intro sequence with V Olivia Rodrigo who won 4 best new artist and best pop vocal album. She may have been in that little sequence with V because she is signed to HYBE's label in the united states. so she's an up and coming artist but might get nominated and win again next year! not be attending the Grammys because she would be at the HYBE labels event! HYBE labels corporation lifting and showing all their artist in Korea Japan and United States .
