After my father died, I was in the darkest corners of grief ... And then, one day in 2017, this video started on my KZread, and I just played it ... Spontaneously ... Without knowing anything about it. The BTS saved me. They came into my life just when I needed to the most. Since then I have been following them unreservedly! To me, they are 7 angels who are on earth with a mission, and we just live in their time

The song itself is not about the what happened, it’s about missing a loved one, a special person, a friend but it is a hopeful song. Spring Day will come, RM said, remember? The MV is a tribute to the tragedy. It’s very beautiful and a perfect way to make an homage 💜

hey Luke, you're right, we were crying along with you, so technically we did this to ourselves too 😔🤙🏽 but yeah, this tragedy is brutal, the silencing, the senseless deaths.... it needs more awareness and of course after knowing the truth we'll never forget the victims. we'll try to vote for a more cheerful video for next week 💜💜

Armies voted for this one because you cannot know BTS without knowing this song. It's a masterpiece in lyrics, music video, choreography, performance by all the boys, it reflects on how they can be an influence, like art, open to interpretation. This version by Bulletproof Vibes explains more about the video representation, whereas the Italian version delves more into linking this song to the Sewol tragedy, which BTS doesn't. BTS uses this song to help us deal with sorrow, missing people, and hope. To me this is the reason we have BTS, to me this is the best example of BTS of what they do and what they help people deal with. It's like how people think about BTS as always being successful, but they had a lot of hardships as well. To know this song, is to know BTS. To be an ARMY you need to know this is the Queen, the masterpiece, the epitome of what they can do as a group and 7 individual superstars, the supergroup BTS.

The MV acknowledges the loss and the injustice in a beautiful way and gives a vent to all the feelings of sadness and frustration. The song, on its own is BTS’ most popular song as it jogs remembrance and is a very hopeful song. A spring day is always around the corner. The video makes me tear up every single time, but the song on its own doesn’t. I realized one day that BTS smiles when they’ve performed it and Army cheers and sings along… there aren’t tears. There’s nothing that can stop Spring from arriving after a horrible Winter.

This is one of their songs that truely makes me cry everytime i hear it, this song reminds me of my nana i lost a couple of years back but i know that ill see her again and this song brings me that comfort and Vs line “ you know it all your my best friend” pulls at my heart strings so much and it makes me cry alot. This so is so full of emotion and you can here it in their voice and the way they move and sing it is also about a terrible tradgey that happen in Korea where a ferry boat was sinking and about 300 people died most of them were school children and this is known as the seoul ferry tradgey. Also this song is our Queen as she's been on the charts flying high since she was released

This is a special song from BTS. Sooner or later, being army, we all need to listen to Spring Day and know what it stands for. It's there to comfort us if we need it. Besides being sad missing someone, it reminds you that you won't be apart forever. When it's time, you all will reunite again. It comforts me hearing this even if it's a sad song. I have dealt with many deaths in the family in a short amount of time, that I prayed my hardest that it would stop just for a little bit. My heart cannot handle it anymore. But I know I will see them again one day when it's time. Just keeping the memories in my heart. Love BTS and their meaningful music.

As hard as it is to watch this (and yes, I am crying, as I do EVERY time), if you ever watch the videos of the actual Sewol disaster, you get so angry, frustrated and pissed off at how those 300 children were "left to die" by the Governments screw up and rush to "save face," as it were. BTS, as always, had the strength to make this video and offer it to the world-and especially the grieving families, to honor their loss and pain and bring awareness to this horrific tragedy-that COULD have been avoided. These 7 young men epitomize what is right in this world, and we are forever blessed to have them. Thank you for "suffering" through this for and with us, Luke..as hard as it is, it is one we must see and take to heart so that those many children didn't die in vain...they are loved and will always be remembered. xx 💜

It's not a hiatus Luke, don't worry. We might not get OT7 new releases and concerts for some time, but they will still do stuff together, such as the show Run BTS. Watch Jungkook's latest vlive, it might cheer you up. It's still emotional to watch the festa video, but they did explain it well and after the initial shock I understand why they're doing this and their choice makes sense. They're doing it to be able to stay with us for a long time as a group and sometimes that means they need space to grow as individuals. As ARMY we will probably be busier than ever to be honest, because this actually means quite a lot of future content. Not to mention they already hinted that there will probably be collabs between the members 😂. It's just that because of the military service not all of them will always be availible, so it's also a way to be able to discover things outside of the group as well as being able to do content with each other without there being pressure for all seven of them to be always there. I won't say that it's not sad, but I think the saddest part is that the members were scared to tell us how they were feeling and once they did it, the media took it, twisted it and ran with it. Plus we already have a group schedule for 2030, so please don't be too worried. BTS are not going anywhere. They love us and they need to do the necessary maintenance to be with us for a long time 💜

It takes an incredible amount of courage to allow yourself to be vulnerable in front of a camera and show the world how art like this brings out the humanity and emotion in you. Luke, I wish I could give you a hug right now. I'm sure, as I did with my two girls, you went and gave your children extra cuddles after watching this. Any parent who watches this and hears the lyrics of the song will imagine themselves in the position of if it was their own child. The children who lost their lives were the same age as one of my girls is now which hits home even more. I'm sorry everyone voted for this. I wanted Boy in Luv, I was the only one who voted for that though 😂 But you are right, knowing the importance and meaning of this song is something that all ARMY needs to enable us to truly appreciate BTS. Your tears match all of ours. Don't be embarrassed but use that sensitivity to your advantage 💜

*grabs popcorn* oh man.. that was a lot. We just had a good cry together so I think that calls for a beer. Snowpiercer is one of my favorite stories because that battle from the back of the train has been the story of my life and it has inspired me for years. This whole event was so tragic and the loss that everyone experienced was immense, knowing how poor the response was makes it even more important to tell the story. Since the first time I started watching Korean television, the first thing i noticed was the spirit and passion of the everyday people in South Korea and their determination to overcome the corrupted authority. It's a revolution of love and compassion, I am absolutely in love with it and these guys represent it well. I know it was hard to watch this but it was important because, for the same reason people watch your streams, you're honest and you care with your whole heart. That's exactly what this movement needs.

I was at their LA concert and when they started Spring Day, tears came. Everytime, I think of my dad when hearing the song. The song itself is about missing someone through whatever circumstances and at some point you may reunite with them or have peace with it, so spring will come. The MV is the tribute to the tragedy. This song is so emotional for all of us, for so many reasons. And it's okay to feel that, and to cry. Even so, I think this video is needed in order to fully appreciate Yet To Come. They are clearly wrapping up this era, and saying goodbye to this part of their story, and that's a bittersweet feeling. There is a bit of a sense of loss, and maybe we can grieve for a door closed. But there is a larger sense of renewal, that a new door is opening, to a better and more beautiful future. Whatever sorrow we may feel at the moment, spring HAS come. Joy is right there. At the end of the Yet To Come video, they recreate the ending of the Spring Day video; they are on the bus, in the same places they are on the train. But this time, they are smiling, radiating positivity, and peace. It's a beautiful transition to their new chapter, and they are inviting us once again to come with them. Thank you for doing this, and sharing your vulnerability with us. 💜Borahae 💜

This makes me think of my dad every time and I always tear up with the first bogoshipda (my very mangled "I miss you"). The song itself is about missing someone (not the tragedy), whether through distance, broken relationship or death. The MV itself is the tribute to the tragedy. Too many get this confused thinking the song is actually about the disaster but its only the MV. The Italian Army one goes into much more depth in what happened and how they referenced it in the MV. But it goes fast! You have to do a lot of pausing for reading.

To be clear, the SONG itself is NOT about the incident but the MV is. This song came out about 3 years AFTER the incident so if this song was about the incident, it's weird that it came out that long after it happened. The lyrics for this song can be spun in so many different directions but it was done this way for the MV. Masterpiece.

There is one by Italian army who digs deep into the political side of it, and there are ones who dig deeper into the symbolism in the video that this one didn’t include. So you are getting just the surface with this one. This video and what it stands for is much deeper. BTS and the creative forces who planned out this stunning video is pure genius. It’s alright, your reaction is totally understandable. The song itself is heavy because it’s about missing someone who isn’t there anymore (for whatever reason, just natural separation, death, whatever). But when you learn about the tragedy and all of the little references and imagery they put into the MV, it hurts so much more. In the Yet to Come MV, they have the merri-go-round and a train (trains come up in multiple MVs). At first, I thought these were really cool references but now, after knowing about their break, it hits me like 10x more. When I first found them, I was already amazed with their music and performances, but when I heard this song and learned about the Sewol Ferry tragedy and the risk they took to bring awareness to it, it solidified my love for BTS. I would highly recommend you watch the ItalianArmy explained video on your own, because it explains a lot more about the incident itself and other smaller Easter eggs in the MV. Take care of yourself, this song is the Queen for a reason (and still on the charts in SK)💜

Please don't use the word "hiatus", that isn't what they said. This isn't unusual for Kpop groups to do, especially bg because of the mandatory military service. They will still be doing things as a group, including Run BTS episodes. They just won't be putting out group albums or touring for awhile, which would have had to stop anyways because of that service. They already have commitments as far out as 2039 as a group so as they said, they will be back together as a group. In the meantime we get albums from 7 amazing people.

But there's something beautiful about a song making you cry every time you hear it, no? reminds us of our humanity, thank God!! So the song is about loss and longing but yes, the video is full of references to Sewol. A couple things this explanation doesn't point out that I found incredible: --the first time you see Yoongi on the pile of clothes the background is all dark, like the depths of the sea; the second time they're all on it and it's twilight, because they're headed to heaven now --I'm glad you didn't watch the explanation by Italian Army because that one includes clips of the parents at the seashore begging the coast guard to save their kids, soul breaking --Italian Army also points out that the clothes in the drying machines at the laundromat represent the kids tumbling in the sinking ship --by the way the captain and many of the crew are currently in prison, some committed suicide Spring Day is one of the reasons Yet to Come is so sentimental, there are a lot of references to it in the video, especially the last scene when they get back on the bus and in the same seating arrangement as on the train in Spring Day, up to Hobi patting Jimin on the leg 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

In other news, I really enjoyed the idea of you doing a music video and then watching an explanation video about it, especially for those unique songs that have deeper meanings. 💜

Don't feel bad about having an honest reaction. I feel like this is the beauty of BTS they give us permission to feel what we feel and help us to overcome those emotions by finding something that brings back the light and positivity. Whatever that may be for any one of us, they encourage us to keep moving forward to the light and the things that make us happy. Trust that you are not the only one of us who felt overwhelming emotion over this video and this song. We love the honest display of emotions. 💜🥰💜🥰💜

Spring Day is a rite of passage for an ARMY. I was a high school teacher in California when the Sewol tragedy happened. The story caught my attention, because of the students on board the ferry were the same ages as my students, and how many field trips we had been on. I remember sitting at my desk and crying, sobbing, reading the details...students sending text messages...of parents begging for help. I did not know of BTS then, nor when they released Spring Day a couple of years later during the trials and protests.

This song is absolute gold. I love it so much. As someone who struggles with a lot of mental illness the line "no darkness or season can last forever" really hits and it made me truly realize that even on the days I struggle and I take steps back that it will pass. To keep the metaphor going, I feel like I've finally hit spring after years of winter and it's so lovely. And the lyrics just. I associate them with how I felt when I had to walk away from an ex best friend bc they became very toxic for me. It hurt and I was sad, but it was easier to pretend I was angry than to actually feel the grief of losing someone I thought was going to be by my side for the rest of my life.

Then I lost my mother, my madre, my best friend, my biggest supporter, and my greatest inspiration on January 17th this year.. this so g is what helps me on my darkest days when I don't think I can push through. So believe me when I say it's okay if you cry because I never have dry eyes when I hear it. 😭 thank You so much for your honest reaction! Borahae 💜

Happy for them and also grieving - watching you crying too made me feel less alone. They’re amazing and, like them, your vulnerability and sincerity, helped a lot. thank you.

The first time I heard this song, I was in such a deep depressive episode. I was just dead on the inside, and was not leaving my room- my grades were suffering and I'd been a full scholarship student on a Mathematics course with a lot of passion just two years before that. I used to be so full of life, and during this depressive episode I was looking at my old photos and just being angry at myself for not being able to be like this. So when I heard this song, I sang it to my past self. I was longingly thinking of my past, happy and passionate self, telling her "I miss you", and "if I stay up all night will I get to meet you again". To this day I have a hard time listening to this song, although the worst phase has passed for me. I don't dare call it my favorite, in fact, I call it the only BTS song I hate- hate, because I can NEVER get through it without producing literal waterfalls out my eyes.

Oh Luke, I feel you! It is painful, esp to watch it as a parent. And this is the reason why "yet to come" struck at the heartstrings of armys. It has so many references but they showed it in the positive light. Pls don't film if you feel sensitive or vulnerable to certain songs or videos. Really, there's no pushing. It takes courage and you've been very brave recording and uploading it. So respect to you. And sending you all the hugs in the world. Hope you have a great weekend ahead. 💜💜

This song was one of the first BTS songs I got into. At first, it just resonated with me musically, I didn't know much about what the lyrics really meant because I was just enjoying it sonically. Then, about a month after this, my grandad passed away and for some reason this song was the only song I could think of listening that day because of how it had been resonating with me. That day, I decided to listen to the song properly with the lyrics and I burst into tears realising the song was about mourning. The way it hit me was unimaginable. It's like, unknowingly, the song was preparing me for this situation, consoling me before I knew what was to come. Spring Day will always be special to me.

Spring Day is a song that’s beautiful on its own and you don’t have to know the story to appreciate it (cause it just sounds like a sweet song about a relationship). HowEVER, when you DO know the whole story, it just makes it that much richer and impressive. Not to mention they had just started to make it and were getting really popular and they could’ve lost it all by talking on this subject. They weren’t afraid though and I’ll always love them for it 🥹💜 It’s important to see as an ARMY, but it must be 100% harder as a parent 🥺 I haven’t watched this in ages and now I’m crying again too😭. It’s not a weird reaction, it’s an appropriate reaction. I hadn’t heard about the ferry until they did this so mission accomplished, BTS🥹

Hi! Thank you so much for your reaction! 🤗💜 This is so emotional I can't even count the times I cried too. The Italy Army has one video very detailed about the tragedy with the students own live videos before the ship drawned. For sensitive persons I don't suggest that one. This mvideo is a masterpiece of inteligence and underlines because the government at the time backlashed all the artists who criticized its corrupt behavior. BTS supported financially and emotionally the families in secrecy. 💜 Another subject to change the mood: everybody is wating for BTS nembers 7 albuns solo. They need to take a nice rest but they won't stop or desappear. 💜

Strongest stars here, and definitely cried with you even though I've seen that explanation video before. When it came out in 2017 it was less than two years after losing a dear friend and meant so much. I've since lost my dad, it means even more now. She is our queen, Spring Day, the heart of BTS's discography, but learning about it that first time is rough. 💜

This song was a tributr to the tragedy but also can be interpreted in many different ways. For me this this is a reminder of a very close friend, someone I cherished like a brother but I had to let go for some reason and now I cannot even talk to anymore. I missed our friendship and if I could turn back time I will try not to be greedy and choose to remain friends with this person instead. That's why this song give me comfort and hope that one day, we can settle our differences be friends again.
