Great reaction! I always love to listen to your thoughts after! "Anpanman" it's an old Japanese superhero with an anpan (a sweet roll with bean jam filling) head. Anpanman is not your typical superhero (he's weak and lets starving people feed from him). In the song bts compares their journey with anpanman, how their power is music, how they're not your usual superhero and how even though they're now famous they're "still bangtan"

look up Anpanman - he's a Japanese superhero; considered the weakest of superheroes. His head is made of Anpan (sweet bean bread i believe), and anytime he sees someone hungry, he gives them a piece of his own head. He makes himself weaker to help others. Once you've read up on Anpanman, go read the translations of this song's lyrics, and consider the context of BTS comparing themselves to Anpanman (also note how their clothes in this vid are reminiscent of firemen & other working class uniforms).

Apanman is a Superhero who doesn't have any powers but will be by your side til the very end. Its a cute old cartoon.

🌟🌟🌟🌟Wow I loved your comments & interactions & the fact that you "get" and love BTS. They have so so so many great songs that have become the anthems of my life. I see that several ARMYs have explained who Anpanman is but I wanted to add a note on why I think this song is so important. I think they are bringing a new definition of masculinity for a new generation. They say they're not super-heroes like we make out many of our superstars to be, but they can be OUR heroes through their music which can make us happy & help us through rough times. In our culture (& other cultures) especially in our movies & music etc. there is a toxic masculinity that is glorified - like calling women bi**hes, violence, coarse sexuality, one rapper & their fans dissing another then doxing them. But Bangtan is saying they're not big tough guys but they can help us be stronger - like when anpanman feeds someone they become strong again. Although if you follow them, they are 7 BOSSES. Total SWAG. 7 Alpha Males. BUT they are saying to guys you can be cool like them and have swag and get all the girls but you don't have to beat people up and be an asshole. They are the definition of truly great men.

Loved this reaction..you guys are awesome, and I would explain who Anpanman is but they already did...although if you ever want more info you can just look it up..it's very informative.

You guys need to read lyrics for every BTS' songs... They will make u think, "ah,I see."

Anpanman is a Japanese Comic Book Super Hero that sacrifices himself since he has no actual powers other than his head made out of bread he sacrifices himself by feeding starving children bread from his head made out of bread which continually makes him weaker! Supposedly a baker kindly eventually bakes more bread for his 'breadhead'. What BTS is saying is you don't have to have super human powers to be a super hero. Anyone can be one by helping others in need caring for others even if it might involve a bit of sacrifice. BTS I has co-partnered with UNICEF to End Violence toward youth! To stop bullying and abuse of any kind! These lyrics are once again BTS way of saying you can do anything if you choose anything is possible you don't need super powers! Many people also look onto BTS themselves as the new generation super hero which I agree they totally are as well!

Anpanman is on most kids toys packaging, candy and advertisements all over Japan even on TV commercials. I saw a futon set with Anpanman on it, he's everywhere and I never noticed till this song came out. Goofy character and not very cute LOL
