Chris was a surprise guest on day four of the BTS concerts in LA. There are plenty of fancams from that you can find. This was the opening song of the AMAs and the sound guys clearly hadn't worked out the kinks yet. There are also fancams from the AMAs of this that have better sound.

A lot of people were mad at the sound quality for this performance and I can't disagree. I definitely think the sound mixing guy wasn't doing his best and maybe he wasn't used to having 8 mics to deal with at the same time. Some people also mentioned that they tried to cut out or muffle the audience and it messed with the volume of their voices, which is why we couldn't hear them as clearly as usual. The clips recorded by fans in the audience actually have better sound. If you want a better version of this, there's a short docu-video (15 min) on the BTS YT channel that shows them recording this song, and you get to hear them all record their parts. There's also a really cool "impromptu" version they did live at the appolo theatre on Coldplay's channel. Thanks Cathon for the back story ;) I actually find the audio pretty terrible in this clip but I love the performance 🥰. The sound guy should know better but I think it is a problem with the connection between the live performance and the tv actually.

I saw a fancam of this and the audience were deafening.The boys said they couldn't hear themselves, But,despite the poor sound quality,I love this performance.It was the first time they got to spend time with ARMY in 2 long years,you can see how happy they were. Can we have lots moe BTS pease? Happy New Year.

The AMA's had crappy sound quality, but it sounds better on fancams.

You should react to the official mv. The audio engineer failed on this one.

I saw the boys and Chris perform My Universe at SoFi Stadium on 12/2 and let me tell you the AMAs majorly screwed up the audio. It's such a shame because they're all talented AF and if this crap audio is what people hear for the first time it's not always going to be a good reaction. Butter was better but ARMY knows how good they are live and the only upside to not being live live is that the quality of the recordings sent in by BTS was always top notch.

I agree! The Ama's in general had pretty crap sound quality.

I saw you recently listen to one of Jungkook's solo songs. If you are looking at the other BTS member's solo songs, my suggestions are Set Me Free pt 2 (I think I saw that his use of autotune in this song is to differentiate between two voices) by Jimin, Wildflower by RM, Amygdala by Agust D (third in a trilogy, but the other two are more rapping), Astronaut by Jin, More by J-Hope, and Rainy Days by V.

I believe the AMAs tried to mute ARMY for TV some and it messed with the audio. The fancams of this sound much different

Kia Ora. The sound quality was absolutely crap. And the camera work wasn't much better. Obviously they're not working with a storyboard otherwise they'd have worked out their timing better with camera shots and angles and when to pull away to the audience. It was lazy. But it was wonderful to see Coldplay and BTS perform live. The production team did a bit better with Butter. But the best way to watch BTS live is to watch performances from the MAMA's, Now there's a REAL show.

Wish you had picked a better live recording of a BTS performance. This sux (not the artists, the recording). There are hundreds of great live performances of BTS to watch/listen. Don't need to focus on this song because its a Chris Martin song and the only other time they performed together was on Day4 of BTS SOFI concert.

The audio for this performance was poorly engineered by AMA. They aren't accustomed to crowds that loud.
