BTCC star Jake Hill pulls off awesome Ford Capri overtake at Goodwood | 79MM

BTCC racer Jake Hill is now a regular at Goodwood, he has won the Gerry Marshall Trophy in the past in Ric Wood's awesome Capri, and he was back in that V8 racer at the 79th Goodwood Members' Meeting presented by Audrain Motorsport. Taking over the car from Ric Wood Jake was in with a shout of a podium if he could catch and pass a few cars. A few laps in he came up behind the similar Ford Capri of Sam Hancock and this awesome battle began.

Would love to see someone take a Torana A9X , or maybe event a Valiant E49 across to this race. They have the balance of the Capri's, but much more power.

My dad first saw a Capri on a business trip to London and was so taken with the car that he called the Ford Dealership upon returning to the states and ordered one. The dealer told him that the US version was called the Ford Maverick which was also being introduced the same year in the states. Imagine how his heart was broken when the dealer called and told him his custom ordered and prepaid car had arrived and he went to pick it up. He never bought another car from that dealership. Making matters worse was that my brother bought a Mercury Capri a few weeks later.

Brokelyn green 2.8 special was the last of the capri. Sad they were nice looking cars.
