Pegasus versus Cratus class Basestar next. Really want to see both side's best ships face off against each other.

The base ships have no chance against mercury battlestars. Maybe if they outnumbered them 3 to 1 yes.

Even then they wouldn't make a difference. I did 4 modern basestars against a Jupiter mk2 and it obliterated them, even managed to handle all the raiders by itself.

Saw a video on here where it was a 3v1 battle and the mercury still won. Damaged but still won. My biggest issue is the big cannons are missing from this.

This made my day...

My favorite Battlestar Class, the perfect warship. I miss the Pegasus so much.

I see Lee Adama was obviously not in command of this Battlestar Group.

I played a skirmish with galactica against 4 modern basestars and really once that flak starts and so long as you keep it at the effective angles to the baseships it holds its own pretty well.

No fight between a Battlestar and a BaseStar is fair. Basestars, especially these knew ones, aren't designed to fight other Capitol ships. Battlestars, however are.

@@Lightray110 yea no Basestars stands a chance against any Battlestar classed Ship.........

If the Cylons were player controlled this is winnable for the Baseships. The short range FTL could really swing the fight in their favour. Send a little less than half your fleet to the other side of the Battlestars and they have to split their flack to cover. Jump one or two Baseships below the Mercury formation where they have no flack and nuke their belly. Throw a few debris mines in to deal with the vipers. Cylon losses would still probably be high but it could be won.

Agreed, a bracking (Think that’s what it’s called) manuever prob would work if you timed right, you may have to sacrifice one or two of the ones that didn’t jump tho

You need 3 nukes on the belly to kill a Mercury. Also you will be target by the belly guns of the Mercury so as your nuke take time to travel you will be severely damaged. And only possibly kill 2 battlestars

Are raiders still FTL capable in this game? Why not just load up a few raiders with nukes then FTL them right under the BSGs... boom, boom, boom. Raiders still resurrect right?

Once the Mercury has something in its frontal view it’s pretty much over for whatever it’s looking at.

Somebody needs to recreate the Resurrection Ship battle. Or the New Caprica battle.

Resurrection Battle: 1x Mercury + 1x Jupiter Mk.2 vs 2 Modern Cylon Basestars + "a target" (I used an Hydra cylon support ship as "Resurrection target") Both colonial battlestars were set for full aggression (best vipers available for both + assault raptors as support squadrons). It was a massacre, alike in the serie. No hope for the cylons. Vipers removed raiders, then with the assault raptors focused on the "resurrection target"... ... meanwhile the 2 colonial battlestars chewed the poor modern cylon basestars: the AI spent all the missiles onto the flak cloud, then was unarmed to sustain close-quarter fight (where the colonial battlestars are fantastic, with turrets as main weapons) For my "New Caprica" battle I put myself in dis-advantage alike in the tv serie: - same ships for me (1x Mercury + 1x Jupiter mk2) but NONE authorized to use fighters vs 4 Cylon Modern Basestars FULLY ARMED (Galactica vipers were involved in New caprica air superiority cover... Pegasus left her own vipers with the surviving colonial fleet hidden), 2 in the front, with 2 more in the back, but not by much, unlike the Pegasus. - Jupiter A LOT in the front, almost alone; Mercury (as Pegasus) in the back for a late charge attack This was "interesting", just because for a bit the cylon raiders harassed the "Galactica" Jupiter mk 2, but flaks kept the most of the cylon basestar missiles at bay... ... at least long enough for the "Pegasus" mercury-class battlestar to be involved. Again, alike before, once the cylon basestars depleted the missiles into flak, it was a one-way fight in favor, again, for the colonial team. My thoughts: AI is very poor in missile management. :P Playing the 2 Battlestars in "full armed" mode is not even a fight. I can fight 4 Cylon modern basestars with ONE Mercury-class Pegasus alone, with the right management of phases :P

This reinforced my belief that if the Cylons and Colonials fought under fair circumstances, it would still be a slaughter, just not for the colonials

Pretty much, in BSG, the Pegasus took out 2 Basestars with it's forward gun batteries like it was nothing. And even the Galactica, who was completely outdated, managed to give the Cylons a hard time.

"SAY" wouldn't it be interesting if the Cylons also got flack barriers, "&" their fighters could shoot down missiles,......humm🤔........🏹🤠👍

Sadly, the AI isnt that big on flanking maneuvers. And I had to replace some of the raiders with classic raiders to get another basestar into the fleet.

Why the missiles make smoke when they are fired?? We talk about space not atmosphere here.

The smoke trails are no doubt exaggerated for cinematic purposes, but smoke is just a combustion byproduct. Rocket fuel includes an oxidizer - no atmosphere needed.

One Mercury class Battlestar can take on 3 of these flimsy base ships (with the right commander) and WIN!
