Hey it's a pastiche but a good looking one. Well done guys at BSA. Ok it's a rotax underneath but that's a good starting point. Keep price under £6K and fit tubeless rims and tyres. You'll shift shed loads.

Pete! Thanks for this. I'm waiting for the Mk 2. It will have the sane good looks, but it will weigh 100 pounds less, 20 hp more, and far higher quality suspension. Only then will it be worthy of the Gold Star name.

Three things I'll change, indicators for old Lucas type, rear light for old Lucas type, rear shock for fully enclosed Hagons It would look good with an old Lucas horn too if you can get one...

A few things, first I’m digging the bike a lot, I hope they can trim down the radiator, also a center stand, but the big issue in America is who is going to sell them, and you won’t have a big dealer support group, and who will work on them, you know business that sell triumphs or R.E. are not going to sell them, maybe Mahindra can open dealerships!

Mahindra, already has a dealer base in the states. Mahindra tractor and Jeeps are very popular, I am guessing they will use some of those contacts.

As a BSA NUT I got really excited with the news of this new bike and even did not mind it being water cooled, but lost interest when to my horror could not see a kick start.

the radiator kills the other wise good looks

As a rule I do not like red motorcycles, but I'm sold on the Red BSA Gold Star 650. I do wish they would have mounted the radiator either between the down tubes or behind the frame tubes between the frame tubes and the engine. My preference would be behind the frame tubes because the radiator would be best hidden there.

The radiator on my tractor looks better. And the plumbing works and wires around the radiator is very horrible. Else a good job on the bike. In India this bike will be selling around Rs 270,000-280,000. RE Interceptor is selling at Rs 300,000.

@@mred7030 The price of a brand new RE Interceptor is Rs 300,000 in India. That is the published (listed) price. Mahindras have not disclosed the BSA Gold Star price yet. It seems they are still observing public reactions and getting feedback. But auto journalists in India and industry people are saying it will be priced below the Interceptor for many reasons: 1. Mahindras have opted for a single cylinder to price it below the Interceptor. If you look closely the finish of the bikes on display are not great which means they are looking to shave costs. 2. RE is a well established brand with strong sales, more dealers and service centres. 3.Mahindras reintroduced the Jawa brand (300cc -330 cc single Cylinder bikes) a few years ago but they have not been able to make any impact. They expected to take a huge slice out of RE (350 Classic) but that has not happened. 4. There in nothing more than the retro looks and the British heritage that the BSA has to offer. 5. No 6th gear which is now the norm If priced higher or same as Interceptor the sales will be very slow after the initial excitement and bookings are over. I like the bike as my requirements is for daily city commuting but I will not make impulsive decison. If you hear anything on pricing do let us know.
