Two-time FedExCup champion - and 2018 winner at Bay Hill - Rory McIlroy leads the star-studded field at the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard. Englishman Tyrrell Hatton returns to defend his title having won twice on the European Tour in the last five months and has rocketed up to fifth in the world since his Bay Hill victory in 2020. In-form Jordan Spieth is set to make his long-awaited Bay Hill debut, while three of the current top 10 players in this season’s FedExCup standings hope to continue their strong play, including Viktor Hovland, Harris English, and Max Homa. Other notables in the field include Justin Rose, Rickie Fowler, Bryson DeChambeau, and Patrick Reed. Ryder Cup captains Steve Stricker and Padraig Harrington received Sponsor’s Exemptions to compete, as did Kamaiu Johnson, who is set to play his second-ever PGA TOUR event.

It's not about ignoring or hating, he's just well known for his incredibly long drives. It's also something along the lines if you would ask 100 golfers who they think are the world's top 5 putters, I'm pretty sure none would say DeChambeau. Again, not hating, just stating facts. I wish nothing but the best for Bryson though. Great win, hopefully he'll win Masters too some year!

From what I’ve seen his lag putting is insane, seems to either lose focus or get overly calculated on 6 feet and in at times. Missing birdie opportunities. Once everything clicks, he’s be unstoppable, like a create a player on Tiger Woods PGA Tour

Bryson is an amazing guy & an amazing player! My young golfer son also adores him so much! Bryson came from a poor family & separated parents (like Mathew Wolff). Growing up in Central Valley California, at times he did not have enough money for a decent lunch. He did not go to any country clubs or have an accomplished golf lineage to get him any breaks. He is given so much hate, only because he does not play the victim card & is a white male who is strong, courteous & righteous! We love him. We are middle-class Californians who are not white & can clearly see the charade of the mass media, pop culture & politics. Bryson will be the next big thing after Tiger. He is mentally so strong because of his tough upbringing & he has the talent & brains to do it! But never mind, media wont admit it as he does not fall in their feel-sorry-for, victim category. Which is actually a good thing for Bryson, as he wont have to deal with media frenzy that much! Go Bryson, we are rooting for you!

No really, people hate him because they THINK he's changing the game but he really isn't. Hitting the ball a little further off the tee doesn't really change anything, if it did then he'd win every tournament he played in, if it really made a difference then you'd see every pro copying is "style" but they're just doing the same thing as they've always done. People are just salty because they can't hit it as far as he can.

Imagine if it was Tiger Woods playing this in 2000s... These commentators were definitely told not to "support" Bryson, as he is playing a "different" and non conventional golf... But man, at the fourth day they just couldn't avoid admiring it. Yet, if it was Tiger playing in his best years, almost every shot he did here was shouted, pumped and idolized! PGA never liked "weird" swingers.

Bryson may owe this win to his fans who encouraged him to go for it in the 3rd round. He went at it again in the 4th and got 2 birdies on the 6th hole. He won by one...so do the math.

@National Christian Constitutionalist Party That's quite the collection of contractions. Everyone could play better, that's why you practice lol. If they could have then would not they have, really doesn't make sense but I'm assuming you meant "if they could play better why don't they?"

He looks exactly like Mark McGuire, Sammy Sosa, Barry Bonds, Conseco and all the other baseball players who juiced. Look at their before and after pics. Look at Bryson's before and after pics....same! Yeah, he gained weight and put on muscle to hit bombs that are 25% more than most other players, well...sounds just like those ball players back in the day.
