It will be a forrest & farmland landscape with multiple bridges to cross, an oil field, an abonded town and of course a lot of farms, I tried to make something Eastern European but I've never been there so I'm just using my fantasy :D. I'm trying to recreate a sort of 'Wargame: Red Dragon' look.

I remember there's this old map that was really big but diplex never spawn in gigantic armies on it. So i do hope he will do it this time.

Im a simple man. I see a Combat Mission Video, I upvote!

If you double click on a single unit of a command it will select the whole command (example double clicking on a squad will select the whole platoon) it's useful for moving massed amounts of troops. If you click on a command squad it will select the whole command under that squad (example double clicking the battalion commander will select the whole battalion). Just a tip from a long time combat mission player

LAVs cannot beach land. They are amphibious but cannot handle the rough ocean waves.

Good vid! USMC would get like five casualties to an eighty percent on the enemy if in reality though!.

Marines and regular soldiers haven't been very different for decades. Both get transported by ships or planes. Meaning the only difference really is the marines supposed "superior training."

There are differences in level of discipline, along with the necessity of Marines having an amphibious combat specialty, but that's about it. They are otherwise just soldiers. A bit more specialized, but still just soldiers. With better uniforms.

Marines used to mean fully armed and ready soldiers on board ships ready for an amphibious assault or ship boarding. They were so specialized that marines, in the early days of the United States, were assigned to guard government buildings. Because, at the time, the army was still provided by the states and were not united under federal authority. The navy didn't have this problem. This tradition lives on to this day. Marines guard US embassies and federal government buildings like the White House. But now they get shipped to the same countries by the same ships and planes as the army boys. Although they actually tend to be supplied with inferior equipment. They get the leftovers the army doesn't need. And this has always been the case, but it's not as bad as it used to be. They're essentially identical now. Just don't expect to have top of the line generators or enough toilet paper for your battalion if your in the marines. Oh. And they tend to be the only ones left after an initial invasion is over. Like, 90% of the US troops left in Afghanistan before the pullout, and probably for most of the US's stint in the country, were marines. Not soldiers. Why? I have no God damn idea.

Hey man! You should check out wargame: air land battle. Simply put its a strategy game were you can play as the swedish millitary (cold war era) its awsome!

TheToasterinYourBathtub if anything it would be out of an act of desperation by a smaller country with low military power, like a country using outdated weapons and gear. They would fight with numbers vs technology so it is possible but a large technologically advanced nation like the united states or russia would have no reason to knowingly send hundreds of soldiers into the grinder when you could literally wipe out an objective with airstrikes or some other form of ordinance. ✌️ Edit: and if the us did conduct an amphibious landing it would be heavily supported by the airforce and navy

Interestingly the AAV is capable of traversing that much water and more, the LAV is not capable of it.

Why does he say marines are no soldiers? Wtf marines are soldiers, officers and even generals are soldiers. Grenadiers, special units or some marines... they are all soldiers. I don’t get it even tho he says like 5 minutes that soldiers is like line infantry, but it’s not true... you count as a soldier from the point on you join the military in a not civil job.

​@@dennis_hdmi5402 The true definition of soldier is to serve in an army, the true definition for army is a land force. Marines like to be called marines because it makes them feel special that they are in the water for 30 seconds before they become soldiers. Age old argument since marines came into existence, most have very similar training to their army counterparts but they tend to differ a lot in tactics, some get touchy with being called soldiers instead of marines, but it's always certain people like Diplex that are the ones who bring it up all the time.

I can be pedantic about terminology with some things, but even I'm at the point where I'll deliberately try and piss people off with stuff like this lol. If someones going to get actually offended about a marine being called a soldier they should reevaluate their lives lol. "Soldier" has become a very generic term for combat personal. And as for "the world knows the difference between U.S Marines and U.S Army Soldiers"; why would "the world" know the difference about the US' military specifically. Most people won't even know about their own military's, and they're only paying attention to the US' when they're being invaded by them or when the US' is waving their dick's around trying to start a nuclear war

Men of War is an RTS. Combat Mission is a war simulator. They're different genres.
