This is a brutal hands strength exercise for punching power that every Martial Artist should practise.
You need a partner to work with, push and pull hands sane time trying to resist your parter's strength.
We regularly do this exercise at the end of sparring session to improve the strength of hands and it truly works.

The 1st dan in a gi is training his biceps, other guy is training his triceps. Genius.
Resistance training is best for strength sad that most people don't know this

A lot of Kyokushin schools have weight sets as well as doing isometrics.
This is rather stupid than smart. You could do some push-ups and chin-ups which most likely 100x more efficient and effective than that ridiculous isometric training.
