Ironically, this might have been a very honest ad from Apple, although unintentionally. Digital devices have made the human experience hollower. It's good to detach from gadgets occasionally, and enjoy the more physical, analog stuff - like everything that was destroyed in the ad.

I agree with the ad being the wrong message, apple is so famous because of the messaging of freeing the individual not compressing it down to their product. Very full of themselves and pretentious. As a big apple fan, I was sad when I saw this ad. People shouldn't joke about making more of a deal than it is because it actually is a pretty big let down if they are old enough to know the history.

For normal people who do not understand why artist are upset. Crushing creative objects is sending the wrong message. AI is on the rise in negative ways, we are already starting to see AI displace workers and create generative images that artist are not being paid for when their work is used. Strikes in the industry have happened and more will be on the rise due to this and most jobs underpaying artist. Companies who once said they are for artist are now marketing their new tech. programs with generative ai that it is disingenuous and tone deaf. Artist are fearing for their jobs and with these new tech on rise we are left wondering how are we going to continue working for these companies if they don't really care about artist. The greater public is partly to blame because instead of people taking the time to understand why artist are upset, they think we're just finding something to get offended by instead of looking at the bigger picture. Do your research if you don't understand something, people are upset for a reason.

It's weird how many people think they are striking back at some "elites" when they go after artists. Nope, most of them are just normal worker Joes trying to make a living. The only group they are helping by undercutting artists are the large/mega corporations. If there is an elite, the mega corps would be it. Yes, the world is always changing. apple's statement is actually "Our goal is to replace all of you hobbiest with AI and then make you slaves to our warehouses."

They could have make it work. Same idea, just no “crushing” stuff. Imagine they had this sci-fi looking machine that, shrinks stuff, like an arcade into a keychain sized one. Then they put all of it together just to see what happens when using this machine, and voila, the new iPad Pro emerges. They did miss the mark if even a goober like me can think of the same just not as violent.

I’m a professional musician. When I saw this commercial, I got so upset and sad…. This is the worst commercial I ever saw.

Best ad ever, I never used apple products before. Still I searched this ad.

Using old stuff that doesn't work would of been more fitting. Out with the old in with the new. Granted its exactly what they depict it would be better with old worn instruments. Although most can be restored.

As if our world wasn't dystopian enough already....

This might be the latest version of "painting is dead", the death knoll that never was realized since the beginning of the daguerrotype over 180 years ago. Fast forward to now, where painting and the resurgence of traditional film are happy and alive. Apple''s out-of-touch hubris gets bigger...and my respect for them has essentially become nonexistent.

They also had an ad that showed a guy being forced to get rid of his record collection by his girlfriend. No one would ever do that.

This Advert is deep cause it shows the true intentions behind these big tech companies, they're trying to destroy our human nature! Thank you to everyone that held them accountable! That advert sucks!

They need to work on their marketing, because that is all they have. They haven't been at the forefront of technology since the 1980s. They just sell bad copies of old technology.

MOMMY ! HELP ME ! WHERE'S MY THERAPIST ? WHERE'S MY MEDICINE ? I NEED MY SAFET PLACE . Really? If people are offended by this little commercial. How are they going to handle the death of a loved one? Having a child that they raised, 19 years old. Senselessly Killed in War ? How are they going to survive in real life ?

@@Uploaderization Life is hard, there's going to be many tough things along the way. If people are actually upset buy a commercial I feel sorry for them. How about the war in the Middle East. How about the war in the Ukraine. How about what's going on with today's world. If I disagree with a commercials content, I will mute or go to the next Channel. I will not make such a fuss to get it removed and ask for an apology. That's being way too soft.

How incredibly hollow and pathetic one’s life must be to get offended by this add. Goes to show how low people are willing to sink for a participation trophy at the Victim Olympics.

Honestly, it could be interpreted as they are squeezing all of that stuff into the iPad, but why do you have to crush it to do that? It comes across as odd, but why the huge controversy?

its obvious the Ad is saying all this stuff you see here is pressed into one tablet..... its not about crushing art and replacing it with technology..... cmon people!!

It would look very different if that were the point. There wouldn't be long, drawn-out shots of the instruments bending, wood slowly splintering, that thing's eyes popping out of its head if it was just about squeezing those things into another product. The theme was definitely destruction.

I don't like that it shows what big tech honestly thinks about what they're doing to traditional art and expression, and how much better off we'd all be if we replaced it with the "thinnest iPad ever". If you think that's because people are "offended" you've missed what's going on here big-time. Kind of sad to reframe and try to justify it.

@@mithcee the theme is NOT destruction... its an ad showing how they can squeeze all these things into one device, but also you dont need any of these when you can have this one device.... but anyone who is a true artist or musician understands the art and the orgin.... and technology doesnt always mean better.. everyone so butt hurt but they got us all talking lol

I believe, nothing is weaker than agreement.

The only problem is that the symbolism is true.

It may be able to do all those things conventional hardware can do but in most cases the ipad simply cant replace the original instruments or hardware etc.

Don't understand what the big deal is... Steve talked in a very similar manner when the PowerMac G4 came into market several decades back, saying that all studio equipment was made redundant and useless by the G4. No backlash there and completely legit. C'mon now.

Honestly i dont get why people are angry about the ad, its more creative than any androids companies could do! People get angry over the smallest things. It’s no big deal.

They should be apologizing for removing charging blocks from new device boxes.

I think Apple was trying to show consumers that you can do all these things from one device. Maybe instead of crushing those items they could’ve had the items happily jump into the iPad or something like that. I don’t know. personally I bought a used iPad last summer and I love it for various reasons.

There was no reason to apologize for this ad. It's awesome. People just find reasons to be upset!!!

That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Are we seriously looking for every excuse to be offended now? When things are actually offensive, people aren't going to think so because it's gone way past that point that actual offenses are minimized now. GROW UP! I'm always for change in society but this is just beyond idiotic.

sadly the ipad can't play vinyl records.

They crushed every single thing but not the Calculator.

This would be offensive if it was an ad for AI. Otherwise silly to get upset at a tool

I know this is dumb, but as a pianist who cannot afford a real piano and has been playing on crappy keyboards my whole life...like it did kind of hurt me to see the piano crushed. P.S. My boyfriend and I decided to not go with Apple when we get new phones.

These people don’t watch the hydraulic press channel.
