Possibly the best comeback match of all time? I say it's absolutely the best comeback match of all time. Who's done it better? I was so worried that I'd be disappointed by this match. I didn't know how physically limited Shawn was. In fact, I was sure that it'd be somewhat of a letdown, that after 5 years of inactivity it was physically impossible for Shawn to perform at the level we were accustomed to seeing from him. I was lowering my expectations but still figured that Shawn performing at 50% was still better than 80% of the guys in the business. One thing in particular, when Shawn and Hunter finally made physical contact by brawling at one of the tv appearances leading up to the ppv. Once they were separated, Shawn vaulted over the top rope to hit Hunter on the outside..... and he almost didn't clear the top rope. That worried me. I obviously had nothing to worry about. An absolute classic.

It was weird to have Triple H pedigree Shawn Michaels, then have Shawn get jumped backstage, then have Triple H be concerned, then have it revealed to have been Triple H who jumped Shawn. Like I said, it was great overall. But that part struck me as odd. It was like they had two reveals in mind but couldn’t decide which to do, so they just did them both.

  • @watchreport

I thought it was to show initially that triple H, who was a face before this turn, was angry at Shawn for not wanting to be his manager, and that's why he pedigreed Shawn. It's a turn of course, but it was just a finisher in the ring, not that big of a deal. He went out on that Raw and started knocking Shawn and berating him, and then when they say Shawn was really hurt and someone threw him into a car window, showing Triple H being concerned was a way to swerve the fans like, shit, I am pissed at him but I didn't want him to get messed up like that. The reveal that it was Triple H was to show, you bet it was me, I hate you, I am evil, and how dare you come back and not bow down to me, as I am the man now, and just shows what a monster Triple H actually is.

  • @watchreport

    Жыл бұрын

Well, he was injured and has the scar to prove it where he had back surgery. Career ending? Well, in the end it obviously wasn't because he did return and ended up wrestling for 8 more years. Between the injury and his drug use, I am sure he did think he was never going to wrestle again and had the mindset of not wrestling again, as Bruce talks about in this video clip. Eventually he did start to work out again, and of course once he did start wrestling again, he realized he could do it again. Same can be said with Edge. He was out with a career ending neck injury and was out for almost 9 years, but came back and ended up doing it again. Same with Daniel Bryan who was never supposed to wrestle again. I think the doctors tell them they shouldn't wrestle again, and for most normal people those injurys would be pretty severe, but these guys are of course a different breed.

Imagine if interviewers only asked stupid fucking questions like this guy. Imagine somebody asking Christian Bale hey remember that whole scene with you in the Joker and then spends 15 minutes describing the scene and then simply ask what did you think of that…What did you think of that angle? Again, he saw Chris Farley and his fake talk show on SNL and decided that’s how to interview people.

I aint gna lie...during this time..amongst all of us watching it and buying the ppvs to see all this..its apparently obvious that it was intended to bury. Its also apparently obvious now that prichard is just being a stooge hoping for that next payday. While it was class of hhh to even work with scott in spite of shitty wcw treatment..he tried. The fact of the matter is this..u picked on scott during his worst wrestling days or some of..and it was still better than it should be...and i aint no scott fan not even then..wcw watchers i watched both btw..hated scott and didnt find baby jacked scott buyable at all. Well i think hhh wouldve been game for wwe any more money..the execs...dropped the ball on more money. Its obvious that there was wcw hate somewhere...heck maybe vince wouldve been onboard. But scott shouldve played heel and did alot of underground wrestling upto. And it wouldve put more money into wwe like it did in his wcw champ days. Steroid scott isnt a babyface character unless its 100%ladies in attendance. Like even if bruce is 100 honest..it still showed how execs in wwe are just screwups. Sad but true.

Couldn't stand either one of these guys. KBK's big push really started to turn me off of wrestling.

Am I the only one who thinks Shawn is the most overrated and overhyped worker, ever? Even as a kid his work and selling was so ridiculous that it made it clearly obvious that it was fake af. Couldn't ever get it. Never understood why Shawn was a main eventer, but I'm not in to guys either. I think the gimmick and women who didn't know shit about wrestling bought merch, which translated to a push.

Yea, you're one of the only ones. My grandpa told me Shawn Michaels was the best there ever was before he passed and that man been watching wrestling since the 50s. 1. HBK 2. Nature Boy. Wish i could ask him his top 5
