When former child actor and Hollywood TV sidekick Bruce Lee returned to his native Hong Kong in 1971 to star in two films for fledgling company Golden Harvest, movie history was made thanks to one of the most iconic partnerships between star and studio that cinema has ever seen. In only a handful of films, Lee high-kicked his way into audiences’ imaginations forever, thanks to his blistering screen presence and his masterful ‘Jeet Kune Do’ fighting technique.
The first two starring vehicles for Lee, The Big Boss and Fist of Fury (both directed by Lo Wei), smashed all box office records in Hong Kong and made him the most famous face on the continent. Lee asserted his artistic independence by directing, writing and starring in The Way of the Dragon, arguably his most thrilling and personal film. Tragically, on the cusp of achieving the international stardom he had long strived for, Bruce Lee died suddenly in 1973, aged only 32. Finally, they are releasing the films with the original colour balance! Instead of those awful teal colour saturated ones.
The original game of death footage being remastered is a high selling point for this.

i watched Boss uncut late 80s , i cannot recall the saw scene but i do think the version i watched had keyhole scene , this means there could be more footage out there

@@postersandstuff the saw scene definitely exists. It's probably sitting in a golden harvest vault knowingly. It'll be released in time when they run out of other lost footage material to sell us with. They claimed the notorious log scene from game of death was lost in the ravages of time. It was in actual fact in the golden harvest vaults too.
The Yellow Jumpsuit Edition looks gorgeous (pre-ordered it), oh and Arrow releasing the original cut for The Big Boss and the most ‘complete’ version of OG Game of Death for the first time is really a dream come true for die-hard Bruce Lee fans😊

I think hed be worn out already by early 80s , at least if he wanted perfection in his films which he prolly still insisted on....actually he said hed retire by 1975 and then take 10 yrs off , he was prolly kidding tho :P

Outstanding trailer from Bruce's movies, the movies in the U.S. had different titles when released here, Way of the Dragon was called Return of the Dragon, and First of Fury was released here as Chinese Connection. Jackie Chan was in two of Bruce's movies as a 'stunt man'. Bruce breaks Jackie's neck in Enter the Dragon.
Might have to upgrade the old 30th anniversary dvd boxset for this.

This is the final time I'll be purchasing these films and I'm glad I pre-ordered this set on UHD. This has the making to be the definitive release of his films with the exception of Warners Enter the Dragon - which I will buy later this year on 4k from Warners. Thank you Arrow for giving us fans this release. A lot of fans rate Enter the Dragon highly but I prefer Fist of Fury and Way of the Dragon over it.
Arrow are legendary at this stage!! Always releasing amazing content. The arrow video player is better than Netflix.

0:48 the frame there looked a little grainy, but then again it's a trailer. Not everything's been done yet (I assume). The rest of it looked absolutely incredible! I'll definitely buy it.

The outdoor GOD footage is included but will Bruce Lee be seen in this? There was definitely cameras rolling when he was practicing fighting the karate men outside.

Lee was able to actually sneak in a few movies at the last 1.5 year of his life. Prior to that...there are zero movies, he was simply a veteran at live combat. In live situations he had fought; Black Belts, Pro Fighters, Ex military, Champions, 3rd degree Masters, Rival Martial Artists, and opponents that outweighed him by 100 pounds. His battle experience started as a young boy and lead all through out his teens + adulthood. The few movies he DID make were only at the last 1.5 years of his life which was a brief opportunity for him to report his life experiences and give insight into live combat. He only made 3 movies plus One Hollywood film, a very small body of films but we're lucky he at least made them just before he died to show us his insights on his life of hard combat. Sports Illustrated has ranked Bruce Lee in the Top 50 Greatest Athletes of All Time. as he was able to raise unbelievable weights that pro weight lifters could not.

If that's true, it's possible they may have got the other rare stuff from them, such as The Big Boss extended edition, I hope they explain whereabouts they got it from, would be interesting to know if a private collector has been keeping hold of it all this time

I don't like private collectors, they keep rare footage all for themselves that all fans should be able to see. If this is the case I'd say they had to pay him well to share the footage.

Too sad that there is no original film negative but a negative copy (internegative) of Way the the Dragon (I think for Game of Death too). Thats why it has always been looking worse than the other releases. Although again a lovely work of Arrow. After it released the Shaw Scope Volumes, its definitely upgrading and becoming my favourite film company, not only because of their great price-performance-ratio 👍🏼

@@sicilienz Not too sure why the link was removed, but it was a Twitter comment from someone involved in Arrow's new boxset confirming 2 hours worth of Game of Death 1973 footage.
Only enter the dragon is released in 4k to the US. These other ones for some strange reason are only sold in the UK including this. Why are they skipping the entire US the biggest market ? You can only see this on UK Amazon. All Americans I repeat this is only on UK Amazon.
