@Default Default I think what he means is that Bruce Lee spent 10 years in this country trying to achieve superstardom and then had to go back to Hong-Kong to make his 1st film because he wasn't being given a shot in America. The best he did here was The Green Hornet and was passed up for the lead role in a TV show that he himself created which was Kung Fu. Truthfully even in his 1st Hollywood film which was ender the dragon he was not the lead role he shared the lead with 2 other actors because the American cinema simply wasn't sure if he was marketable. But of course the popularity of that film catapulted him to superstardom unfortunately he was already gone by the time it was released.

I was drawn to Bruce, personally, alone, at a young age. Like everyone's introduction to him- I only initially understood him as an actor. It's what you see first. But as a child, the deeper I looked, the more I found the great teacher I needed, reaching from another time. Without someone like him in my own life, he shared himself with me, long after his death. Like he has with so many of you. I've been studying Bruce my whole life. He is my greatest hero; my eternal master; my eldest friend. I feel as if he has helped me become the man was meant, and I still find aid in his teachings, when I am reminded. He may have saved my life. That classic cliche of the kid who almost went the other way until he found Bruce. I learned from him, early, lessons I needed to learn. He was an astounding person, not only for his skill, and personality, but also his mind, and spirit, and heart. He was not like you'll often find, and yet he wanted each of you to know you could be as strong as you want to be. He wanted each of you to rise stronger than him (yes, believe it or not). He shared himself, with the world, in a way that most of us cannot pull ourselves to do. He wasn't like the rest of us; although in many ways he very much *was.* The deeper you look into his 32 years on this planet... the more you search, well... allow me to just say you may find something beneath, which is just for you. Which will be personal to you. Almost as if he is still around to chat with us. He fought so he could teach us you know, his very honor, his whole life, on the line. And he won that fight too. Lee Jun Fan - thank you

I remember as a kid, about 10 years old in 1986, our school principal had invested in a huge television that he set up in the gym hall at school. On Saturday nights he would have a screening of a movie and we would all have to buy tickets to go. I only remember there was a season of Bruce Lee. We would all pack into the hall, all boys, eating popcorn and sweets and messing and shoving and watching the legend on screen. Good times.

Watching all his movies with my family created a respect I never had for martial arts. As I listen to all the old interviews, film clips of Bruce as a young man at 24, he is both a legend and a beautiful soul who continues to inspire us all. His wisdom and understanding of life is so profound, his passion for martial arts seemed inherent that it’s as if, he was never meant to be of this era. He was literally larger than life. For modern movies sound effects are added for every move, but Bruce's strikes were so fast and sounds were real. 😮

His speed is crazy... to be this young, and the way he talks to people, way mature for his age, it almost seems like a grand master already. Name another person 24 yrs old with the confident and courage to communicate the way this man has...... incredibly unique.

everyone take a moment to understand just how fast bruce lee was. he is pictured on slow moving tech, these movies at most were 26 fps. Half the things you see at that frame rate can seem choppy but he is so swift you cannot notice it even with the slower speed of the frames.. simply a delight to find this old video

I along with many people loved Bruce Lee. I was only 13 years old when he passed away. Every Saturday my brother and I went to the movies at that time we saw a lot of Bruce Lee films. I cried like a baby when I heard he passed away. I literally could not stop crying. My brother was younger than me but he made us both nun chucks and I wore the black Chinese Mary Jane slippers. To this day I own most of his films on DVD.
